He shook his head. ”No. Never.” he promised her. ”I only want to be with you. Marie was unexpected and confusing, and Kameron… I never saw her as any more than a friend. But now, I promise I won't even say that traitors name again.”
She let a few more tears fall before looking away
”Betty, ” he whispered gently giving her hand an affectionate squeeze. ”You are the only woman in the world for me. As far as I'm concerned, unless they're family, every other woman is invisible to me. It's only you.”
”Listen to my heart. I know you can hear it so you know I'm not lying.” he said gently but honestly, still holding her hand.
" why do you love me" she asked
”Because you're the bravest, kindest, most amazing woman I've ever known.” he told her. ”Tenacious, beautiful, and strong, you always put everyone you love before yourself. I do wish you were a little less reckless with your safety but… I don't hate that about you. Honestly, I don't hate anything about you. You're perfect for me.”
" let me know if this hurts" she said grabbing a pillow she put it on his non hurt shoulder and layed her head on it " is this okay " she asked looking up at him
”This is fine. It doesn't hurt.” He smiled softly at her and gently wrapped his arm around her shoulders but keeping the pillow between them since he didn't want to hurt her either. ”Is this ok?”
She nodded " this is perfect" she said
”I’m glad to hear that.” Lysander smiled happier than he had since he woke up.
Henry chuckled a little from the doorway as he knocked. ”Can I come in? I heard one of my favorite patients injured themselves.” he teased lightly.
" I hurt my knee I need it wrapped" she said
Henry nodded and walked in, raising a brow when he noticed Lysander’s hands. ”Well, I just hope that the Mummy behind you didn't use all the medical wrap.” he quipped.
”I didn't use all of it.” Lysander rolled his eyes at Henry, strongly tempted to flip him off. ”Betty had to use vervain to turn me human and apparently it's still on my hands.”
" see?" Betty said showing Henry her burnt hand
”Ouch!” Henry winced at the sight as he sat down. ”Want me to wrap that too?” he offered.
”Alright. Let's start with the newer one on your knee first.” Henry commented as he grabbed the right medical supplies.
She nodded scooting to sit up
”Ready? This might sting a little.” Henry warned kindly before he started cleaning the cut.
Betty flinched at the stinging
”Sorry.” Henry apologized, quickly but carefully finishing that part and grabbing the bandage.
Henry looked up at her before gently blowing on the cut to help calm the stinging. ”Better?”
Henry raised a brow slightly, looking closer at the cut. ”It’s just rubbing alcohol…” he muttered as he tried to figure out why it was hurting her so much.
