Evan looked at her in shock. ”Where did that come from?”

”Oh…” he said in understanding, nodding a little. ”Do you want to talk about it?”

She shook her head more tears falling

Evan hugged her again. ”It’s ok. You don't have to.” he assured her.

She barried her face in the crock of his neck

”It’s alright. You're safe.” he assured, holding her comfortingly.

She sniffled holding him close

”No… I wouldn't let you die.” he whispered.

" do you love me?" She asked quietly

”I do. Very much.” he nodded.

She nodded " okay"

He smiled softly at her and kissed her cheek.

”Feeling better?” he asked, seeing her smile.

“Good.” he smiled a little brighter, kissing her forehead.

She rested her forehead on his shoulder

“I already gave it to you.” he said, showing her the empty syringe. ”I did it while you were telling me about New York.” he looked down a little sheepishly. ”I’m sorry if you feel like I tricked you but it’s one of the better methods I know. Distract the patient with something they like or are passionate about to take their mind off the needle.”

She smiled softly and pulled him down to kiss him
