”Not nearly as important as you are.” he told her sincerely.

She shook her head " yes it is"

”Betty, you are my everything. You and the kids take priority over everything else in my life.” he told her.

"But I shouldn't" she said

”Why do you say that? There is nothing more important to me than you and the kids.” he insisted, gently cupping her face. ”I love you.”

"Im not important Lysander im just an accident" she said

”You are not an accident.” he insisted. ”You’re perfect.”

She shook her head

He sighed a little and held her close. ”You can shake your head all you want, but I'm not going to change my mind. You’ll always be perfect as far as I'm concerned.” he promised, kissing her cheek.

She crossed her arms and started to walk away

Lysander reluctantly let her go as she walked out of his arms. ”Betty, what's wrong?”

She shook her head

”Please…” Lysander started calmly. ”I want to help but I can't do that if you won't let me.”

" I don't need help I'm perfectly fine" she said with a growl

”If that were true, you won't be upset enough to growl.” Lysander pointed out gently. ”You may think that you don't want help but there's nothing wrong with getting help when you need it.”

”Ly…” Henry interrupted, whispering. ”I think we need to just drop this and let her calm down on her own.” he suggested.

Betty moved to the back of the group looking at her feet

Lysander gave Henry a slight look, showing he didn't agree with his idea but didn't say anything.

Evan walked over near Betty, acting casual.

Betty sniffled light as she looked down

Evan looked at her and let his fingers feather against her shoulder.

She looked at him with red puffy eyes

Evan gave her a soft smile and opened his arms for a hug so she could cry against him if she needed to.

She wrapped her arms around him sniffling on hand hooked on his shoulder the other curled in his white hair

He wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace, lightly rubbing her back.

"when we get back can I do your hair?" She asked with another sniffle
