Since Tyler was driving, Henry had called shotgun but had fallen asleep in his seat. Lysander settled in a seat in the middle row, musing about the last time he had been in a car like this. And with the kids quiet in the back seat Laura-Beth had gone back to sleep as well.

Betty was in the second row of seating on the left side her hand resting on her knee as Asher lay asleep in the back

Lysander was a little glad for the quiet of the ride so the kids could sleep but it almost made him want to fall asleep as well.

Betty looked down and played with her hands

Lysander glanced over at Betty and smiled, gently reaching for her hand.

She held his hand and laced thier fingers

He smiled and leaned over a little to kiss her hand.

She smiled and blushed slightly

" Alright we're here" Tyler said as they pulled into the Starbucks parking lot

Lysander slowly let go of his wife's hand. ”I’ll stay and keep an eye on the kids.” he offered quietly.

Henry moaned softly as his eyes fluttered open. ”We there already?” he yawned.

" you guys want anything?" Betty asked

”Sure.” Lysander nodded. ”Just a cup of black coffee for me.”

”Ice frap for me, please.” Henry asked, stretching his arms over his head.

" alright let me click the child safety off" Tyler said

" No time" Betty said boosting herself out through the sun roof and running inside

Lysander laughed as Betty climbed out the roof as Henry stared, stunned by the action.

" That's your girl" Tyler said

”Yes, she is.” Lysander smiled.

Betty was inside ordering

Laura-Beth started whining and kicking as she held her white bear closer.

Lysander turned around at the noise and carefully got up from his seat, kneeling in front of his daughter. ”It’s alright, sweetie. You're safe. I’m here.” he assured softly, brushing her hair back.

Betty was currently waiting on thier drinks

Laura-Beth woke up with tears in her eyes, frantically looking for her mother as her daddy unbuckled her car seat and held her.

”It’s alright. I got you. You're safe.” Lysander told her calmly.

”Where’s mama?” the little girl whimpered.

Betty was pushing through people on her way out

”Shhh. Shhh… It's alright. She'll be right back.” he soothed, sitting on the floor of the car.

Laura-Beth continued to cry, not calmed by his words.

Betty came back handing tyler and Henry thier drinks and got back in the second row

”See? There she is.” Lysander smiled, turning Laura-Beth so she could see. ”There’s your mother.”

Laura-Beth almost stopped crying as she saw her, immediately reaching out to be held by her.

Betty gave lysander his coffee and got in the back putting her own coffee in.the cup holder she held her child close to her
