Ray sighs, looking at Cass. "I'll be with you the whole way, even if your Father is mad at me, I won't let his terror harm the innocent." He says calmly, with genuine kindness in his voice.
Ray sighs, looking at Cass. "I'll be with you the whole way, even if your Father is mad at me, I won't let his terror harm the innocent." He says calmly, with genuine kindness in his voice.
“I know, Ray. But I’m going to deal with him by myself. Like always.” Cass looks at him, his face tired, “After a nap, of course. . .”
Ray chuckles at Cass's last comment, as he looked at Cass, "If you ever need me, you'll know where to find me." He say as he approached the kingdoms stables. "I'll start to get things ready…' He says getting off the horse, going to get stuff ready.
Cass dismounted, leading the horse to the stall and cleaning her down himself. After a while he went to his rooms, flopping onto his bed and passing out.
Ray walks around the area, not sure what to do, as he has prepared everything they need in case war would initiate again.
Ray, goes outside to the garden as he sits on a bench looking at all the greenery. Taking it all in.
Cass wakes up hours later, feeling somewhat refreshed, though the stress was still there, he was well rested. He gets changed quickly, pulling on a new tunic and then jerkin. The finery was a necessary part of court life, even if Cass hated it. He looked at himself in the mirror, and then fixed his hair into a more appropriate style other than spikey. He turned, walking out of his rooms, the sound of his footsteps the only one as he signed and went to his father's personal library. This was where he usually spent his time on the weekends, and as it was a Saturday, Cass had no doubt he would be in there.
He reached the door and took a deep breath before walking into the brightly lit room, prepared to face his father's rage and whatever punishment he will dish out to Cass' disobedience.
The King glares at Cass, "So you have disobeyed my orders again?" He said angrily. "I will see to it that you stop with the making of the plans for war. I will do it personally." He said not averting his gaze at Cass. "I will get Ray to stop taking orders from you, for planning attacks. I will see to it personally…" He say coldly. "You are a disgrace to the family, you are nothing more than a weeb pebble to the heir…" He said his anger ensuing. "I sometimes wish I never gave birth to such a weakling…" He said looking at Cass, with a cold deadly stare. "Guards! I want you to take the Prince to the dungeon for the time being… I will come see him later…" He said not saying anything else.
(Sorry again for the wait)
Cass' eyes widened and he stiffens, "Father! You-" He looks down, hiding the hurt, "The soldiers and people will be massacred if we go to war! We are not strong enough to fight Alekin. We don't have numbers or strength."
(Your good)
The king snickers softly, "Do you think I care? What did you expect, a tea party to talk about our feelings? NO!" He yells. "Guards, I want this menace ut of my sight, NOW!" He turns his back to Cass, and says nothing more.
Cass stares at his father, gritting his jaw, "You'll destroy this fucking kingdom, and then you'll have nothing to rule over!" He turns, walking towards the door, ignoring the guards.
The king lets out an angry yell. As you leave you hear something smashed on the floor.
Ray is still in the garden, but jolts when he hears the kings angry yell.
"What happened to make him this mad? Should I go check on the prince?"
He thinks to himself. He makes up his mind and goes and looks for Cass.
Cass grits his jaw, leaning against the wall, pressing a hand to his face, "Gods. . . The people. . ." He murmurs.
Ray sees Cass and makes his way over. But gets stopped by a guard, as the guard whispers something in his ear, his face becomes angry. He sighs as the guard walks away, and give Cass a glance before walking back to the garden.
Cass watches Ray walk away and then bites his lip and sits on the floor, silent. He stares at the carpet, his face mostly blank except the worry, stress and hurt in his eyes. He doesn't move.
As Ray sits back down on the bench he looks at the sky, "I need to help Cass in any way I can, even if I get into trouble with the King… I can't let Cass keep going like this." He thinks to himself, as the sky grows darker.
Cass keeps staring at the floor, mute and he pulls his legs up to his chest, dropping his forehead to his knees, 'What would mama want? She'd want me to keep doing what I'm doing. . . But. . .' He closeS his ehes, the loss of his mother three years ago was still a knife to his heart.
Ray gets up, his mind now set on one thing, helping Cass. He goes back to where he saw Cass last. He sees him on the floor. He walks over sitting next to him patting his shoulder for comfort, saying nothing.
Cass looks at him, "You shouldn't be near me, commander." He murmurs, looking away. He shifts, pulling away from Ray, "Your job comes before our friendship."
Ray chuckles softly "Since when was that established? That was never a rule when I signed up! I'm not leaving your side, like I said before we are in this together. I won't let you suffer alone…"
He says pulling Cass into a hug. After a moment he lets go, not saying anything.
Cass sighs, "You can do more than I can right now, Ray. Don't lose it. The kingdom is more important than I am. If father knows your cohorting with me, he'll fire you and send you away." He looks at Ray.
Ray shakes his head, "That's only If he finds out. I will not let you suffer alone Prince. I will do everything in my power to help you…" He says looking at Cass with a small smile.
Cass sighs, "Ray, no. If you want to help me, then do this for me. Don't come anywhere near me and take care of the people. My father knows everyrhing. You won't last long if he knows about us."
Ray hesitate then gives a small nod, "I will do everything I can to protect the people…" He say a bit sadly. "I should go now, before your father finds out." He says getting up, giveing a smile to Cass, before walking away.
