“I believe she’s the member we’re waiting for,” Kylie replied. “If I recall correctly, she was added in the last second.”
(We’ll miss you!)
(same here sorry)
(I just realized that I forgot to say I'm back…)
(YAY we're back in business!)
"Great. Another inexperienced person," Blaine said, rolling her eyes as she leaned back into her seat.
J scoffed under her breath and picked up both their coffees with a jolt, making the liquid dance weightlessly in the air. She suspended them, all with her mind. Then she put a message in their brains. Who are you calling inexperienced, little girl?
Hearing the voice in her head, Blaine shot up in her seat. Fire danced in her eyes, and the lights in the room began to flicker. Noticing what she was doing, she took a deep breath, calming herself, and the light stopped flashing.
"You," she said, turning to the stranger. "Come here."
J sighed and stood, strolling over to her rude coworker.
"I really wasn't planning on getting up, hon, that's kinda why I sent all the messages."
Blaine scoffed and sat back down. "Yeah, well, no one calls me 'little girl' and gets away with it," she huffed. "What even is our mission, anyway?"
Kylie looked bothered, but she didn’t jump. She had experienced mind readers before, and so she wasn’t shocked when the voice spoke inside her head.
“You,” was her reply. “Those who are not punctual are inexperienced in my book.”
(Oh I saw this late whoops)
(Lol, it still sorta makes sense.)
"Well, technically I've been here the whole time, I just chose not to reveal myself. I thought it'd be more fun to mess with you."
At Blaine’s question, Kylie cleared her throat and set her cup of coffee down. She contemplated on a way to explain, but then decided she couldn’t be bothered.
“In the past five months, five people have been found dead,” Kylie started slowly, gaining her coworkers’ attention slowly. She took out a bunch of pictures and assembled them. “As you can see, each person was branded with runes and strange writing which happens to be from this book,” she picked it up from her lap and set it on the table alongside the evidence she collect. “The Codex of Eden focuses on a legend from thousands of years ago, but I won’t get into many details. From what I’ve gathered, the stolen articacts and the murder are related.” Kylie pointed to a picture of a golden cup. “That cup, from my knowledge, is the Immortal Cup. It can resurrect anything and anyone, but with severe consequences. Our goal is to catch the villain behind these attacks and to stop them before they put the Prophecy into motion.”
Blaine moaned, putting her head down on the table. This was a horrible group to make work together. They were so not going to get any work done.
"…each person was branded with runes and strange writing…"
(This reminds me of an episode of "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.")
J chuckled. "Cool, so when do we start?" She glanced at the pictures, levitating Blaine's keys in her hand.
(Why does everyone know her name already?!? ;P Jk. But, really, no one actually knows anyone else's name…)
A jingling sound made Blaine lift her head. The new woman was levitating her keys and looking at the pictures the other girl had spread out.
"Give me those," Blaine snapped as she grabbed the keys from the air. She stuffed them into her purse, then turned back to the others. "Okay, well I supposed we could start with introductions. I'm Blaine. Blaine Woods."
Kylie looked at them both straight in the eyes, unwavering.
“What I want is to get this done as quickly as possible,” she said boldly. “So please, as long as we’re working together, no personal quarrels or events that could hinder our task at hand.”
(Why does everyone know her name already?!? ;P Jk. But, really, no one actually knows anyone else's name…)
Well, you kind of introduced yourself to Kylie earlier xD
Why do I even try? thought Blaine after no one acknowledged her. She cleared her throat and tried again, telling the others that they should introduce themselves.
(Bruh you realize J is a mind reader)
