(I want Scalpel to be working WITH the heroes to catch the bad guy. as I said, she's an antihero)
(I said that because when I suggested you could also be the killer, you replied with a 'k', so… I misunderstood, I apologize)
(she doesn't us that method except on bad peeps)
(Sorry, guys! I had things to do, places to be…) :( (I'm back, now, though.)
(It's okay! All good)
(From the POV of Whitehot's secret identity: Blaine Woods)
Blaine walked into the small apartment that she currently lived in. She pulled off her mask and jacket and threw them on the couch, where her black and brown cat, Reeses, was laying. He meowed, then jumped down, frightened, and ran to Blaine's bedroom.
"Sorry, Reeses!" she called after the angry cat before heading to the kitchen to make herself a bowl of cereal.
"I see you're finally back," a voice called from the direction of the spare bedroom. The sound of footsteps followed the statement, nearing Blaine. "I was wondering when you would be returning."
Turning around, Blaine smiled. "Zach!" she exclaimed, quickly abandoning her food to give her boyfriend a hug. (Zach is Nightquake's secret identity, btw.) "Yeah, it's been a long day. Some weird things happened today. This girl gave me your card after I questioned her about something, saying that you could help." She pulled out the card and set it beside her bowl on the island.
"Help with what?" Zach asked, curiosity and caution battling in his eyes.
"The Golden Star."
(aw my boyfriend's sister's boyfriend's name is Blaine)
"What did he want?" the minute Kylie walked out of the office with a blank expression, Mark appeared by her side.
Kylie sighed and rubbed her head.
"Team mission," she said, her voice soft and quiet. Mark reached out to put a hand on her shoulder but froze when she flinched.
"It's okay, Ky, I'm sure they aren't anyone you ever worked with before," he said, pulling his hand away. "Not everyone is like this guild."
Your boyfriend okay? Whitehot's words echoed in her mind, making Kylie squirm and push back a blush that threatened to coat her cheeks. Mark was not her boyfriend, nor was he anywhere close to being that.
"Just call me if you need anything. I'll be there," Mark promised, turning around to walk away hesitantly, knowing Kylie wanted some time on her own. Kylie felt guilt clawing at her stomach, but she pushed it down. Mark was always kind and gentle, and she still kept pushing him away.
"I'll give you a call," Kylie reassured him, touching his arm softly. "If I need help. You know you're the only one I can turn to."
(Is that a ship I see in the distance? pulls out telescope Why, yes! Yes, it is.)
(laughs I ship them, too xD I love ships~)
Zach sucked in a breath. "The Golden Star?!? Why would you be messing with them?" he demanded. "They're dangerous, B."
Scrunching her eyebrows together at Zach's uncharacteristic worry, Blaine said, "Yeah, so? I've handled my fair share dangerous situations before, Zach. It's not anything new."
"Yeah, but they're–" Zach's response is cut short as Blaine's phone beeps with a new message.
Pulling it out of her pocket, Blaine taps the screen to turn it on.
"New mission. Meet team at Super Beans Café, 7:00 pm sharp. Don't wear your suit."
Fifteen minutes? That's all I get? Blaine thinks incredulously. And why shouldn't I wear my suit?
"Ugh. I've got a new mission, and I have to be there soon," she groans. Looking up at Zach she says, "Sorry, but I've got to get ready. Apparently, I can't wear my suit this time."
"Alright," sighs Zach. "I'll see you later, then?"
Smiling, Blaine agrees, then goes to get ready.
Kylie would be lying if she said she was looking forward to seeing Whitehot again. She wasn't. But she was still here, at Super Beans Cafe, earlier than they were supposed to meet.
When she saw a familiar head pop through the door, she sighed. This was going to be a long mission…
Blaine walked into Super Beans for the second time that day, but this time she wasn't wearing her all-white suit. She walked over to the counter to order a hot chocolate, pulling her wallet out of her jean jacket.
"What can I get for ya?" asked the barista behind the counter.
"Just a hot cocoa, please. Oh, and with extra whip," Blaine said.
"That'll be $4.50, then," the barista said, and Blaine paid her.
Scalpel was wearing a pure white jumpsuit. She had changed after a small mission. She strolled up to the counter of Super Beans Coffee. "Darkest coffee you got please, and maybe your number written in cream on top?" She lowered her sunglasses and winked at the barista girl.
Kylie brought her phone out and opened her messages. She received one, and it was from Mark. She wasn't even surprised.
Did your team get here already?
"Yes, but they haven't seen me yet," she replied back. "Get back to your work, Mark."
Blaine looked around the coffee shop, searching for whoever she was supposed to be meeting here. When she spotted the girl from yesterday, she groaned.
Great, she thought as she walked over to her. Just who I wanted to see.
"I'm assuming you're part of this team I'm supposed to be in?" Blaine questioned the girl under her breath. She sat down across from her and sipped her hot cocoa.
Kylie looked up from her phone when she heard Whitehot. She nodded in reply, then made no further movement to acknowledge her. Then, after a moment's of silence, without looking up, Kylie opened her mouth.
"I do not want to be here as much as you," she said in a blank tone. "Perhaps even more so. But if we wish to be rid of each other quickly, we'd have to work together."
"Fine," Blaine said shortly, taking another sip of her steaming chocolate drink. "My name's Blaine, by the way."
"Kylie," Kylie replied, and then silence fell again. Kylie got busy trying to find clues about the book she checked out, and occasionally she'd send Mark a text to have him figure something out for her.
J secretly watched them from a distance, sipping her coffee. Every five seconds the barista giggled and looked at her. Scalpel temporarily ignored her. She kept her eyes on the duo at the cafe table from behind her sunglasses. She messed around with a small gyroscope, experimenting with the settings. There was a setting for Amazon orders, technological powers, and…. porn. Classic Tony, she thought, with a roll of her eyes.
Kylie, after getting tired of the eyes on her, closed the book shut.
"We're being watched," she said flatly. "Although, I'm sure you are aware."
When Kylie tried to scoot her chair out to get up, J made the chair stay exactly where it was, like an interior design Mjolnir.
"Yes, I'm aware," Blaine drawled flatly. "What do you think she wants?"
J made the salt shaker fall over and spill out, forming the letters. "HAHA"
She made them move again. "Come."
