While waiting for the skillet to heat up Kaz started to dance around the kitchen, grinning like a dork. He grabbed the spatula, singing into it like it was a microphone. In a loud, bordering on obnoxious tone he walked over to Vaughn, giggling a little while he tried to sing. "You! You got what I nee-eed!" he began, pointing the spatula at Vaughn
(Oh god is he just pointing or is he wanting Vaughn to sing because I have no idea what Kaz is singing lmaooo)
(no he's just pointing at Vaughn while singing lol. also brb gotta do tractor stuff rip)
(Lmao okay, I was just making sure. And fun, seeyah)
Vaughn’s grin widened, eyes squinting a bit as he did so. He hadn’t seen this extremely playful side of Kaz before, and he loved it. He gave a low laugh as he watched Kaz dance around the kitchen and sing. Bloody hell, he is so precious, he thought.
(aight I'm back temporarily)
Kaz kept dancing, singing into the spatula giddily. "But you say he's just a friend, but you say he's just a friend!" He pointed at Vaughn again, his voice getting a little scratchy as he tried to hit a high note. "Oh baby, you-oh fucking shit how in the hell?" He turned around as the smell of burning made its way toward him. He ran over to the skillet, frowning as he lowered the heat. He moved the totally burnt toast off the pan and added more new pieces, pouting as he did so
(Alright cool)
Vaughn had burst into laughter at the sound of Kaz’s squeaky voice. But he stopped when he could smell something burning. He looked over at the burnt toast, brows raised in surprise. “Damn, those got burned pretty bad.”
(hhh 10 minutes till my math final)
Kaz pouted, throwing the ruined toast away and starting to make more. "I know. I almost always burn what I'm cooking the first time around. I once roasted ramen. In a microwave," he chuckled
(Oof good luck with that)
“In a microwave?” Vaughn repeated, laughing a bit. He leaned back in his seat, sipping the coffee again. “You are too cute when you pout.”
Kaz huffed. "Am not!" he said, crossing his arms theatrically and frowning jokingly despite the faint blush working its way onto his face
Vaughn gave a challenging look, lips twitching upwards. “Yes you are. So goddamn adorable, baby,” he said, setting his coffee down and folding his arms across his chest.
(aight gtg for my test wish me luck)
(I might actually have done okay on that part of the test, we'll have to see lol)
Kaz went a little red at the nickname, and he reached up to rub at his cheeks with his free hand. "Well when you say it like that…" he mumbled
(Lmao yeah, and Oof, brothers graduation took longer than expected)
Vaughn smiled mischievously and hummed, winking playfully at Kaz. “Now, careful not to burn the food again,” he said.
(np man, I've been working on my plant project anyways :v)
Kaz smiled softly. "Yeah, yeah," he said, turning to flip the toast and set it aside on a plate. He reached into the packet of bacon he had pulled out earlier, starting to cook it too
(Why did I read that as something along the lines of “he reached into his pocket for bacon” lmao)
Vaughn inhaled slowly, taking in the smells that filled the kitchen. The food smelt amazing, and he was sure that it tasted amazing too. Well, as long as it wasn’t burnt.
(omg lmao)
Kaz finished the bacon, setting it on a separate plate and turning the stove off. He started to put food on his plate, humming softly. "How much food do you want?"
“A good amount. I didn’t eat any real food yesterday, just the alcohol,” Vaughn said, looking up at Kaz. He had smiled when hearing the demon hum. God, he was too cute.
Kaz put a couple of slices of toast on the plate before adding a few slices of bacon. He carried the plates over to the table, sliding Vaughn's in front of him before going back for syrup, butter, and his coffee. He set the items down on the table, still smiling a little as he started to pour syrup on his toast
Vaughn thanked Kaz before picking up a fork and cutting into the toast. He hated to admit that he never had tried this food in the past. Growing up, his family had been struggling financially for months after his dad got fired from his job. He hadn’t been old enough to work, though he would do almost anything for the people in the neighborhood. Anything for money, which he would always give to his parents, or use it to buy a treat for his little sister. He never thought much for himself. He bit sharply at his cheek at the memory before taking a bite of the toast, smiling as he did to. “Goddamn, Kaz, this is good.”
Kaz grinned widely, seemingly lighting up at the compliment. Cooking was one of his many hobbies, and he really tried even though he wasn't the best at it. "Aww, thank you," he said, still smiling as he took a bite of his food
Vaughn chuckled softly at Kaz’s excited expression, brushing away the painful memory. “Anytime, baby. Anything else you’re great at cooking?” He asked, taking another bite of the food.
Kaz shrugged, taking a bite of bacon. "I'm usually alright at anything if I've made it a few times. I used to barbecue stuff for my mom when I had access to a grill."
Vaughn smiled a bit, running his fingers through his slightly damp strands of hair. “That sounds pretty good,” he commented, fingers moving lower to feel the material of the sweats Kaz gave him.
Kaz hummed in acknowledgement, finishing his bacon. He reached for more, nibbling on another piece absently. He glanced over at Vaughn. "You can keep those sweats if you want. I've got plenty where those came from."
