"Are you sure? You aren't like…hiding a body or something right now, are you?" he asked jokingly
"Are you sure? You aren't like…hiding a body or something right now, are you?" he asked jokingly
“No, give me an hour or so, then ask that question,” Vaughn said in a serious tone. Eventually, he got the flour cleaned up. He mixed the batter and poured bits onto a pan before putting it into the oven and starting a timer.
"Well, that's good to know. Now I know how to make an alibi in case the cops ask me if I was talking to you," Kaz chuckled, smothering his cigarette in the ash tray and opening another window to help air the room out
“Mm, exactly,” Vaughn said as he leaned against a countertop, watching the timer tick down. His clothes were still spotted with flour.
"So…What're you up to right now?" he said, trying not to let the conversation fall into an awkward silence
There was no way Vaughn was going to say that he was at someone’s house baking cookies. “I’m at home,” he said, the lie slipping from his lips with ease. He looked in the fridge, helping himself to a bottle of water.
"Well, I assumed you were after I saw you drive by earlier," Kaz said, flopping onto the couch and bouncing his leg instead of pacing
“You saw me? How?” Vaughn questioned. Was Kaz watching him or something? That just made him feel paranoid, and he glanced around uneasily.
"I, uh. I was having a smoke by the window and you passed by in your truck. Sorry, I didn't have the lights on or anything so you wouldn't have seen me," Kaz said, rubbing at his face a little in embarrassment at how stalker-ish that had sounded
Vaughn frowned slightly at that. “Okay then..” he mumbled, when he heard the sound of a car pulling up. He cursed and grabbed the phone, turning it off speaker. “I have to go, can I call you back?”
Kaz nodded. "Yeah, sure. Talk to you later." He hung up, setting his phone on the charger again with a sigh. Damn. Second impression and he sounded like a stalker. What a wonderful week he was having
Vaughn set his phone aside and ducked behind a counter, sliding one of the butcher knifes from its place as he did so. He waited as he heard the door open, heavy footsteps walking inside. He adjusted his grip on the knife and heard footsteps come into the kitchen on the other side of the counter.
“Left the goddamn oven on..” the man muttered in a sharp tone. When the man began to step around the counter Vaughn leapt into action. He stabbed the man sharply in the calf, ripping it in a downwards motion to it tore deep into the skin. The man screamed and stumbled backwards, and Vaughn jumped to his feet.
“Sick bastard,” Vaughn spat, gripping the butcher knife. He stepped forward, the man throwing himself up to defend himself. Because of this, Vaughn sliced into the man’s arm, and when he lowered them, Vaughn cut into his shoulder before throwing the knife to the ground. He took out his pistol, smashing the man over the side of his head with it. The man slumped to the ground with a thud.
Vaughn dragged the man outside, and through the backyard. As the man woke up, Vaughn had him on his knees in a small stretch of woods. He loaded the cartridge and slid it into place with a snap. The man looked up with wide eyes, and began begging. Vaughn stood there, an emotionless expression on his face as he listened. It was almost amusing. But he still put a bullet in the man’s brain, anyways.
//what did this one do
Kaz laid down on the couch, reaching for one of the blankets thrown over the back. The windows being open made the apartment a little cold, so he threw a blanket over himself and rolled over to stare up a the ceiling. Before he knew it he had accidentally dozed off, his phone still clutched in one hand on his chest
(The guy?)
Vaughn left the man’s body laying there as he walked back to the house. He went inside, cleaning the blood from the floor and pocketing the butcher knife. The timer beeped and he opened the oven, taking the tray of cookies out. They smelled comforting and sweet. He took one, biting into it. It almost burnt his mouth, but he hadn’t eaten any sweets in a long time. He just ate one, and set the rest out on the plate. Then, went into Ben’s room and collected all the little men that were scattered around. He brought the, back into the kitchen and lined them up by the plate of cookies. He wrote a note before leaving, walking back to his truck. Once inside, he called Kaz back, listening as it rang.
(oof gtg to bed)
(Oof seeyah)
(I return) Kaz nearly fell of the couch at the sound of his phone going off. He rubbed his eyes, blindly pressing the answer button. "Hello?" he asked, voice a little rough from sleep
(Aye, I’m around for like a half an hour longer, maybe less, then I’ll be gone for an hour. Also, I started on the writing that I was going to do with Vaughn and I have a thing published on wattpad hhh. I tried a different format for an intro, its kinda strange but interesting?)
Vaughn’s jaw clenched slightly at Kaz’s tone. He turned it on speaker and started the car, pulling off the curb. “Vaughn, again,” he said, watching the road.
(dude I'll totally read it when I get the chance, I will take any and all Vaughn content you have lol) "Oh, hey," he said, sitting up to rub at his eyes. He moved towards the coffee maker again, grabbing another cup to make more coffee. "How did, uh, whatever you just did go?"
(Lmaooo okay)
“Perfectly fine, it went quick and clean. No struggle,” Vaughn simply explained, flicking the radio on but keeping it low as he drove back towards the gas station. As he was stopped at a light, his eyes shifted up towards the bar. He pulled into the lot, sudddenly hanging up the phone as he went inside. A minute or so later, there was a quick knock on Kaz’s front door.
(Oof gotta go now, seeyah)
(oof, see ya) Kaz jumped, almost dropping his phone. He jogged over to the charger cable, plugging it in before walking over to the door. He squinted through the peephole and was amazed to find Vaughn standing just on the other side of the door. How had he even gotten the apartment number? He ran a hand through his tangled hair, and he suddenly realized he looked like a mess. He sighed before unlocking the door. "Uh. Hey."
(Oh wow that was longer than a hour)
“Thought it would be easier to talk in person,” Vaughn responded, glancing inside before looking at Kaz.
(it's alright lol) Kaz stepped to the side, opening the door more. "Well, come in I guess. You want coffee or something?" he asked, trying to remember the proper way to welcome someone to his apartment without sounding like a complete idiot
