Etta nodded, twiddling her fingers. She looked up slightly at the last question, sighing as she sat backwards a bit. "Dirty. Crowded. Smells bad." She shrugged. "Same as always, I suppose."
Etta nodded, twiddling her fingers. She looked up slightly at the last question, sighing as she sat backwards a bit. "Dirty. Crowded. Smells bad." She shrugged. "Same as always, I suppose."
"And my mother?" Eleanor asked quietly. "How is she?"
She shrugged again. "She's… well…" Etta tilted her head from side to side, figuring out what to say next. "She's the queen, I guess."
Eleanor rolled her eyes. "Of course."
Sally shoot almost all of the low ranking people on the other ship before the ship started to turn around and left.
neva chuckled. bringing sally in for a hug. " good job sally!"
Eleanor glanced out the window. "They're gone," she sighed, relieved beyond belief.
Etta sat up a bit, getting a glimpse of the departing ship she had came here on. There was definitely no going back now.
"Yeah…" She muttered quietly, unsure of what would happen next
Eleanor felt sympathy for the girl. She'd been in the streets, scared, alone, and without her royal status to protect her when Neva found her. She gently took Bernadette's chin in her fingers and tilted her head so she could look up at Eleanor's face. "You'll be okay," she promised. "I'll make sure nothing happens to you."
Sally walks in after escaping the deep dark depths of Neva's hugs. Just in time to hear Eleanor's promise to Etta. "Yeah we got your back rookie." She agreed 100% knowing Etta was not a pirate.
Bernadetta blushed slightly, looking up at the second in command with awe. The way she said it made it sound like she meant it. "Thank you…" She trailed off, glancing at Sally and chuckling
Eleanor nodded. She cleared her throat, turned, and looked up at Sally. "Nice work out there, Sal," she cooed, tilting her head with a smirk.
" you should know our ranks by the way." neva said " im caption. ely is first-mate, an sally is my closest crewmate .i dont make a decision without neither of them and neither will you. this ship is a family. "
Etta swallowed hard and nodded, bowing her head as the captain spoke. "Y-yes. yes of course, ma'am." she stammered, clearing her throat slightly as she gazed around, matching names to faces.
"Would you like me to show you around?" Eleanor asked gently. She'd taken pity on the girl and decided she was going to take Bernadette under her wing as Neva had done with Eleanor when she'd first run away. "How is your leg feeling?"
neva got back to work on her map, marking British territory
Bernadette grinned, nodding profusely as she stumbled to her feet. "Yeah, the bugger just grazed me." She chuckled, smiling up at Eleanor.
Eleanor grinned back. "It is so good to hear someone with the right accent again," she laughed. "You all have lovely voices, but it isn't the same." She winked at Bernadette and passed a shared understanding between them. "Shall we be off, then?"
"mic fucking escuze me elly. ive got one hell of a voice." neva teased
Eleanor's eyes glittered. "You certainly do, Captain." With that, she lead Bernadette out and shut the door behind her, leaving Sally and Neva alone.
"so sally," she said, striking a convo
Bernadette met the response with another lighthearted laugh, grinning eagerly as she followed Eleanor out the door like a lost puppy. "This ship is amazing!!" She exclaimed, attempting to break the short silence that had lasted.
"It is," Eleanor agreed. "I've been here for a short while, and it still is the same amazing ship I boarded with Neva when she found me."
Bernadette laughed, putting a lost strand of clumped, curly hair behind her ear as she continued observing the vastness of the ship. "So… if you don't mind me asking, why did you run away? And how did you end up here?"
Eleanor inhaled slowly, breathing in the saltwater air. "It's a bit of a long story. But I'll give you the shortened version. My mother despised me, so I figured out a way to leave. I was lost in the streets of London, Neva found me, and here I am now. Details may or may not come at a later time."
