"Yep. So we'd be set," Connor laughed. They continued to walk, a hand reaching up to run absently through their hair. They glanced across the trees, still feeling slightly paranoid

Clare chuckled a bit, and after walking for a few more minutes, she’s noticed a cabin. She thought for a moment that it was the same cabin as before, and that they had somehow walked in a giant circle, but nothing else seemed familiar. “Connor, look- there’s another cabin.”

Connor looked in the direction of the cabin, their eyes widening a bit. “Oho, oh no, no, we are not going in another freaky ass nightmare cabin.”

“I don’t want to go in there, I was just pointing it out. Let’s jsur keep going,” Clare said, continuing to walk. “It probably is just like the other one- abandoned with a hint of devil worshiping.”

"Or semi-abandoned with a whole lot of devil worshipping. All things I will be happy to completely avoid," Connor said as they followed Clare

Clare laughed a bit, grinning slightly as she did so. She ran a hand through her ponytail, taking it down before pulling it back up. “Let’s just hope that we are close to the end of this place.”

"I hope so. I swear, when we get out of here I am never going into a forest again. I used to live in a forest, but fuck it, I'm never going there again," Connor said with a small laugh

“You and me both,” Clare laughed, shaking her head slowly. She could have sworn she kept hearing noises, and she tensed at every one of them.

"City, here I come. Fuck nature. Wait, no, don't fuck nature. That's how you get put on one of those dumb hospital shows," Connor laughed

“Oh my god,” Clare exclaimed through laughter. “All I can think of with that is tat show Naked and Afraid,” she snickered.

Connor burst out laughing at that. "Oh Jesus Christ, there's gotta be at least one instance where someone was all 'ah yes, let's jam a stick up my ass because I can't get any action in the woods,'" they wheezed

Clare laughed more, shaking her head a bit. “That’s just messed up,” she said, brushing back a few strands of hair.

"I bet there was at least one needy bastard who did it, they just never aired the episode," Connor snickered, grinning as they spoke

“But imagine how much that would fucking hurt,” Clare laughed, rubbing at her eyes as if trying to get the mental image out of her mind.

“I don’t know. Maybe if you like…rounded it off and used a condom,” Connor snickered before beginning to laugh again

“Oh my god, just stop, I’m getting mental images,” Clare said. She had a look of mock horror on her face before bursting into laughter.

Connor had to stop for a minute, giggling wildly as they rested their hands on their knees. “Oh god,” they laughed

“You are insane for thinking of that shit,” Clare chuckled, rubbing at her jaw with a grin on her lips. She thought that she saw another ridge, or maybe it was a cliff, and she began to go towards it.

“Fuck off, I can’t control my brain,” Connor said before sticking their tongue out at Clare. They began walking again, glancing over at the ridge

Clare went to the edge, and she could see out in the distance. “Look, there’s the end of the forest, over there! We are so close!” She exclaimed.

“Oh thank god,” Connor breathed out. “Let’s hurry up and yeet ourself was out of this fucking forest.”
