//okey dokey :P
“Edna? Is that… is he okay?!” Bob sounded panicky, holding up his son until he was pretty much carrying him.
Edna sighed and pulled down a screen, on which she projected a PowerPoint on the after affects of whatever drug she’d given Lucas. This took place in less than three seconds. “Darling, he is perfectly alright. As you can see listed here!-“ she dramatically pointed at the screen “-one possible side effect is drowsiness, and/or lightheadedness. I can offer you my uniquely spread peanut butter sandwich to help reduce the effects.”
Lucas groaned, laying his head against Bob's leg. He was basically just sitting on the ground at this point, his eyes closed. However, color had returned to his cheeks, which was a sign that whatever Edna used was working. His body temperature climbed gradually, nearing Lucas's normal body temperature.
“Are you okay?” Bob asked Lucas. Edna laughed.
“Darling, he is fine, as I have explained countless times! Now, let us go fetch that peanut butter sandwich.” She started walking towards the stairs.
"I'm tired… what time is it?" Lucas asked quietly, not looking up. His eyes still seemed to be closed, and small embers flicked the ground beside him. Most of the heat had returned to his body by now.
“Five o’clock,” Bob answered. “I’m going to carry you upstairs, okay?”
"Mmm…" Lucas allowed his father to pick him up, trying his best to simply stay awake. His head still felt heavy, and it seemed as though pressure was pushing down on him from all sides.
Bob carried Lucas upstairs, following Edna. For such a short lady, she sure was absurdly fast.
When they got upstairs, Edna busied herself with some buttons on the wall. After a few moments, a slot opened, and a peanut butter sandwich was presented.
"What's she doing, dad…?" Lucas asked, peering over at Edna curiously with tired eyes.
“She’s making a peanut butter sandwich,” Bob sighed, just as Edna walked over and handed Bob the sandwich.
“For later, darling,” she said, steering Bob towards the door. “Ta-ta. The boy needs rest! And peanut butter sandwiches!” Edna shut the door behind them.
"Why are sandwiches supposed to help?" Lucas asked as he was buckled into the back seat.
“I have no idea,” Bob sighed, handing Lucas the cellophane-wrapped peanut butter sandwich. “Just eat it. If you want to.”
“Alright.” Lucas did as he was told and lay down in the backseat. No immediate effects were observable.
“Is it doing anything?” Bob asked as he got into the front seat and started driving.
“Dunno… not yet, at least. Is Kaly home?”
“I hope so,” Bob said, pulling into the driveway. “Once we’re sure you’re better, I’ll let her know that I have not forgotten what she was doing…”
Lucas nodded and got out of the car, walking into the house unsteadily.
“Kaly?” Bob called after unlocking/opening the door. “Are you here?”
Kaly jumped when her dad called out. She looked back at her phone. "I have to go now. Love you."
"Love you."
She kissed the camera and hung up the FaceTime.
"Yeah! I'm up here!" She thundered down the stairs. "Where's Lucas?"
(Disregard what I said she was doing earlier.)
//XD
Fraust, you want to reply?
(Yeah sorry had school)
"Here…" Lucas raised his hand weakly, leaning against the wall in a way that he hoped looked casual (but totally didn't).
//no worries
Bob laughed. “Yeah, he’s right there. And now, Kaly, if you don’t mind following me to the living room so we may discuss your school day.”
Kaly ignored her dad for a moment and hurried over so she could hug Lucas tightly. His hair still smelled smoky, but other than that, he seemed fine. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah… Edna stabbed me with something, told me to eat a sandwich, and then basically just said I was good to go home. My head still feels all woozy…"
"Do you need anything?" Kaly asked worriedly, holding his shoulders and surveying him.
