"Just because it's an illusion doesn't mean it isn't real…"
Lynn Thomas has been raised in a world where reality is altered every day. In a world where every day, things change and morph. Those who can alter the world are known as "Alterers". Lynn himself is an Alterer, though he isn't aware of his power.
(Name) is from another world. Another reality. And it is falling apart. (Name) has the ability to "thread", meaning that they can jump between world's, "threading" them together. To save his world, they need an Alterer. And not just any. They need an Alterer who has not yet discovered their powers. (Name) will bring the Alterer, located and identified as one "Lynn Thomas", to his government, where his abilities will be stripped from him and used to save (Name)'s world. The process will likely kill Lynn, though the government of (Name)'s world think that is a small price to pay.
The problem? As (Name) and Lynn get to know each other, they begin to fall for each other, forcing (Name) to choose between his world, and Lynn.

Other: fresh out of high school, she took this job under an agreement with her government thus follows - in exchange for her assistance, they will offer a full-ride scholarship to wherever she goes, knowing that she can't not take the job. it's what she's always wanted. (and if it's okay, it makes sense for lily to have a gun with her, but i just want to double check with you on it. there won't be many scenes involving it on my part, as i've never written violent scenes before or scenes with guns before)
I like her! Yeah she can totally have a gun, thats fine. Want me to start?
Thanks! I like Lynn too! And yes please!
(alrighty! Thanks!)
Lynn was walking down the streets, strange eyes flickering around as he did. The world looks semi normal today. He observed. Although we'll see how long it stays so. He sighed softly. The Alterers are always changing the world to better suit their whims. I mean, it's cool and all, but… He shrugged a bit, listening to music as he walked.
Lily watched silently, mournfully almost as the bench fell. Fell into the abyss that opened up briefly. They were right, she thought. The world really is falling apart. But of course no emotion showed on her face. If she was to get what she wanted, she needed to do whatever necessary to get there.
Lucky her, the government offered her a full-ride scholarship to the school of her choice! Her, of all the people in the world! But - there was a catch. She had to complete a job for them. "A simple one," they told her. Simple? She thought not. They said that she just needed to bring someone named Lynn Thomas to the government so he may be stripped of his abilities. He was what was called an Alterer - one who can change the world at will. He might die in the process they said, but it was a small price to pay.
She kicked her feet in the shallow dirt layer that had accumulated over the past few months, scuffing her boots. Lily took the image of "Lynn" from her back pocket and unfolded it, examining the face again. She needed to memorize that face if she was to find him in another reality. Good thing then, that she could jump between worlds. Or realities. Or dimensions, whatever one would prefer to call it.
Gathering up all her courage, she took a deep breath. Of course she had to take the job. She could get what she wanted from life. Giving a small smile, she headed over to her car, where she had placed her phone. Picking it up, she dialed the number they had given her. Three rings, then silence. "Hello?" a gruff voice answered. "This is Agent McDonald here, who is this?"
Clearing her throat, Lily replied, "This is Lily, Lily Norman. I'm here to respond about that, um, job you mentioned?" Agent McDonald gave noises of agreement and told her that she should go as soon as possible and hung up. Lily stood there in shock. She blinked twice. Were they really just going to send her out with nothing? She did carry a gun though…
Lynn continued walking after sighing softly. He sat down on a bench that was made of, perhaps, the strangest material he has ever felt. At once both soft and hard, both yielding to the touch and firm as stone. As fluffy and comfy as a bed, as solid as concrete. Definitely up therebin the list of strange materials that he had never felt before in his life. Ah well. There were new things every day from the Alterers, which was both exciting and terrifying.
Hopping into the world of Lynn's, she looked around, a bit disoriented. I'm doing this for me, she reminded herself. Taking a couple steps, Lily looked down at the ground. Why was the ground so much softer than hers? Oh wait, there were Alterers here. She kept walking down the street, unsure of how to start.
Lynn stretched, leaning back against the bench with a tired sigh. He had stayed up half the night reading and drawing, and it had definitely taken its toll. There were dark shadows under his eyes, and he looked exhausted.
Lily kept walking until she came to a bench. There was a male there, sitting down. A female was next to him, and Lily pulled out the picture she'd been given, "Lynn Thomas" scrawled on the bottom in poor handwriting. Consulting it, she looked back and forth from the picture to the man. Luckily she only had to do it once. The man's hair were blonde. She groaned, but continued walking. An hour later, Lily stopped at a bench and sat down, pulling a hand through her ragged hair. It seemed, there were many benches scattered around the area. Across the street, she noticed someone, a male, leaning against yet another bench. He had black hair! She couldn't help herself, she crossed the street and approached him from a distance. She was still holding the picture in her hand and consulted it. Curly hair, green eyes, those gold-ish colored rings at the edges, he seemed to fit the description she'd been given. One last thing, the name. She had to make sure she had the right person. If not, well, she didn't want to think about it. She walked closer and gently cleared her throat. "Excuse me, pardon the interruption, but are you um," she looked down at the photo and squinted her eyes to read the handwriting. "…Lynn Thomas?"
Lynn looked up, taking his earbuds out. "Huh? Am I…oh. Yeah, that's me." He nodded, looking at her carefully. Why was an admittedly pretty girl doing, asking about him? He frowned very slightly. How does she know my name? He wondered, standing up.
Could this really be so easy? Lily thought to herself. "Simply put, I've been hired by the government to complete a job for them, and you need to come with me," she told Lynn. "Come on, we don't have all day," she added, taking a couple steps in the direction she thought was the government buildings, looking back over her shoulder.
Lynn narrowed his eyes. "No, you need to explain a few things first. First of all, who are you. Second of all, what is this supposed job. Third…why me?" He asked, crossing his arms and looking at this girl curiously. If she wasn't going to answer his questions, he wasn't going with her. Simple as that.
"I'm Lily, Lily Norman," she returned, turning around, her arms crossed and leaning against a nearby wooden pole. "Look, just come with me, okay?" and then to herself she muttered quietly so Lynn couldn't hear her, "I will get that scholarship, no matter what."
"Okay. And why should I come with you?" He asked, cocking a dark eyebrow. "You still haven't explained that. And I'm not following some random girl to an unknown location."
