(Lol. And yeah, Lucitius does indeed have his moments of being absolutely frightening)
(Lucitius: Abruptly appears. ‘Tis a gift. And I have no reason to attack you at all. Grins mischievously, then abruptly vanishes)
(Alright, good night. I honestly don’t consider it the next day until I wake up, even if it’s the early morning of said next day when I go to bed. But, that’s just me)
(And Lucitius is still going to say Radiant, even though we both appear to be writing ‘Asuka’. To him, Radiant is the more fitting of the two names)

Lucitius turned to Asuka with a grin.

“‘Tis not only mortality, yet insanity, mine dear Archangel. A Vanisher cannot comprehend the mind of a mortal, as mortals cannot comprehend the mind of a Vanisher. Goldergon can no longer comprehend all that he has ever known. That is what Vanishers fear the most,”Lucitius replied.

Goldergon flinched as Asuka spoke to him telepathically and Ehvara hugged him tighter. He wrapped around her, desperate for comfort.

“‘Where we are going’? Where do you wish to go? I can think of countless places. And we need not wait for Goldergon to break, he is already broken. Ehvara, his sister, is now her own separate being, a false persona given life, a newborn,”Lucitius explained.

“That woman is Goldergon’s sister? They look nothing alike!”Mardicos abruptly commented.

Lucitius grinned,”To a mortal, yes. To Goldergon, even as a Vanisher, they have always been siblings.”

Mardicos sighed and shook his head, not even attempting to understand. He resumed watching Goldergon, his glare remaining.

Lucitius listened to Asuka’s words, smiling thoughtfully at her.

“That indeed sounds fair, yet I truly had a different strategy in mind. If Goldergon proves himself worthy, I will gift him the voices of his forms, that his mind will no longer be silent and he might regain some form of his own sanity. His immortality shall come afterward, though immortality has been known to bleed off of me, as mine family can prove. Yet, if he ever desires to regain more, he will have to spend lifetimes in servitude, and hope he does not provoke me in the process,”Lucitius remarked.

“Why waste time on this bastard?”Mardicos snorted, starting to pace irritably.

“Time is never wasted, Mardicos,”Lucitius replied, watching Goldergon as golden tears continued to drain from his eyes.

Mardicos huffed, seeming to disagree with Lucitius’ statement. His eyes kept glancing toward the forest, and he clearly itched to roam again.

Lucitius approached and crouched down next to the pair, nudging Ehvara back. She leaned away from Goldergon, scrutinizing Lucitius, her eyes flickering back and forth between the two worriedly.

Lucitius put a claw under Goldergon’s chin, meeting the creature’s frightened gold eyes with his own intense iridescent orbs.

“You understand what I have said? You must earn everything, and I am a harsh critic when I wish to be. Yet, I always allow others the chance to prove themselves. Do this, prove to me that you are more than a fiend upon the realms, and I vow to you that you will be rewarded.”

Goldergon stared for a long moment, stricken, then nodded. He looked at Ehvara, and she gently grabbed his hand with both of hers. Lucitius noted the surge of confusion and fear in Goldergon’s eyes as Ehvara grabbed his hand, but it quickly dissipated into something resembling affection. Goldergon wrapped Ehvara in a hug, and she coiled around him, rubbing his back.

“All lost travelers need a guide,”Lucitius hummed, thinking of his wife Synthia. A smile came to him and he turned to Asuka.

“If you have no other ideas of where to go, I believe I know someone that you would appreciate meeting.”

“For a ‘sane’ creature, you make no damn sense at all,”Mardicos sighed.

Lucitius looked at him.

“That is the beauty of chaos. Though, I admit I can be a bit too impulsive, at times. That is where Synthia, mine wife, and now Radiant, come in. Synthia has fought me numerous times, and I still have scars from those battles. I love her ever deeper for her reminders,”Lucitius cooed.

(Asuka has nothing much to say, so responses will mostly be brief now. Mine posts like this one, however, will usually be of considerable length)
(And that is fair. Asuka is fairly 'Radiant'. Grin)
(And excuse any odd wording here… I've been up since ~2:00 CST, as I'm sure is obvious… seeing as how I was replying fairly consistently since, like, 3 or 4 hours ago.)

"Ah, but he is no ordinary Vanisher. He should understand a mortal mind better than any other Vanisher. And some mortals are not ordinary mortals. Like me. Except, I was technically never 'mortal'. And neither were you. And yet, we understand a Vanisher's mind better than most others that were 'mortal'." Asuka replies, grinning back at Lucitius despite herself.

She adds, "And how is it that Vanishers fear that, but not us? Are we not terrifying to a Vanisher until we rip from them what makes a Vanisher 'sane'?"

She becomes silent for a moment, contemplating where she wants to go, and listening to the exchange between Mardicos and Lucitius. When Lucitius says "Where do you wish to go?", she replies "I'd like to see where you came from."

And she pauses, to gauge Lucitius' and Mardicos' reactions to this, then continues. "And I find it truly amazing that you've managed to turn one of my kin from a puppet back into what she should properly be. Thank you."

She also says, in response to Lucitius' response to her statement about Goldergon's power, "Yes, I think that might actually be preferable to an insane, immortal being constantly raging at us for stripping him of his reality."

And when she notices Goldergon's tears, she swiftly goes to him, brushes away his tears and says "Do not cry, because all that you have lost you can gain again. Will you give me your word that you will truly do better, to get back what has made you this way?"

To Lucitius again, she says "I'd like to meet this person of yours that you wish me to meet."

She turns back to Goldergon, and, with an idea to see this broken creature happier and better, gives him the begginings of empathy and remorse.

"I have given you the things that will help you. At least, the seeds of the things that you need to understand, truly, what you have done, and for you to be able to apologize and mean it, and put the souls of all those you have caused pain to to rest." she says, with a soft smile. "You will go through plenty of unpleasantness in the course of your servitude to us. But nurture those seeds, and when the time comes, you can go free with a whole, free mind, at peace with yourself."

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Yeah, I tend to write long posts anyway, so it works)
(Ah, you’re fine. It’s almost 5 am for me right now, and I haven’t gone to bed yet!)

“A Vanisher is a Vanisher, that is all most creatures understand. ‘Tis instinct that guides interactions with them. They fear such outcome as this because they are, in their way, creatures of the mind, not of a physical form. I suspect Vanishers consider insanity an equivalent of death, simply because they know not how to escape, and Vanishers are among the best escape artists in mine multiverse. Unlike insanity, they can escape from other creatures, and thus do not fear us,”Lucitius explained with a shrug.

Lucitius grinned at her words.

“Where I came from. Mine beautiful home,”he said with a purr.

Mardicos huffed again,”Except for the inhabitants.”

Lucitius glanced over at Mardicos, grinning without saying a word. He then turned back to Asuka as she spoke.

“I suspected a kinship, and figured it would please you. Though, now that I think of it… if Goldergon had the form of an Archangel, that means he met one. By the skies, Goldergon must be nearly as old as mine multiverse! Possibly among one of the first generations of Vanishers born there,”Lucitius remarked, considering that possibility for a moment. He then smiles again at Asuka’s words.

“Fortunately, mine home is where the other lives,”Lucitius commented.

Lucitius and Mardicos watched Asuka as she interacted with Goldergon. Mardicos rolled his eyes, but Lucitius was fascinated, even as he wandered off to the side.

Goldergon stared at Asuka warily, flinching as she gifted him the seeds of empathy and remorse. He listened carefully, but found it hard to reply to her. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand, nor was he being defiant, he simply didn’t know how to react.

Ehvara watched Goldergon, holding his arm to comfort him. He held her hand, still staring blankly at Asuka.

There was an abruptly loud crash off to the side and Lucitius started to laugh. Mardicos was the first to notice.

“Shit! What in the hell are you doing?”Mardicos cried out, stunned by the sight of massive blue wings.

Goldergon and Ehvara turned at the noise. Goldergon whimpered and shrank away, but Ehvara snatched him, holding him close and spreading her own wings.

Lucitius turned to Mardicos, an amused grin on his face.

“Stretching mine wings for a moment before we depart. If ‘tis not obvious, they are why I am called Blue Angel,”Lucitius mused.

He turned away, lifting his face and closing his eyes as he basked in the sunlight. His wings, near a hundred feet in wingspan at least, towered above him, above everything actually. Their leathery membranes shined in the sunshine, veins of purple visible within, and faints marks resembling electricity painting their surface.

The cause of the crashing noise was difficult to see behind the massive wings, primarily because little remained of it. His wings had obliterated an entire building as they emerged.

(Okee, good… morning? Night? Whatever. Mine mind cannot deal with that right now.)

(Yes, hello!)
(Sorry, I haven't had a chance to respond.)

"Instinct is no substitute for reason, Lucitius." Asuka replies. "The Vanisher instinct should be to fear entities like us."

And when Lucitius mentions the "other", Asuka immediately stops dwelling on unpleasant thoughts. "Why don't we take a quick break from talking, Lucitius?" Asuka says, watching his wings unfurl, hearing the noise but not bothered by it. "I haven't flown in ages. It would be good to stretch out my wings."

And she lets her wings unfurl, seeing the reflections on the ground and in the air from her wings, which shimmer with an iridescent glow. She shoots a sly grin at Lucitius, then takes off without warning, leaving Lucitius on the ground and laughing at the exhileration flight brings. She knew he would catch up eventually, if not soon, so she slowed down a bit. She performs a few aerial maneuvers, like dives and barrel rolls, and practices sword fighting while she flys as well.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(You’re good. Some days are busier than others)

“Vanishers defy reason,”Lucitius replied with a laugh.

Lucitius hummed as Asuka spoke, then grinned as she took off. He waited a moment, then leaped, his massive wings propelling him high. He quickly caught up to Asuka, rising far higher than her within seconds. He then lazily rolled before settling into a slow glide, basking in the sunlight.

Down below, Ehvara watched in awe, her wings twitching behind her. Goldergon tapped her arm and waved that she should join the other two. Ehvara looked at him worriedly. Goldergon took a deep breath and waved for her to go.

“I… will… not… be… long,”Ehvara said, testing each word to make sure she pronounced them right.

Goldergon gave her a small smile and waved her along. Ehvara smiled, stood, and lifted off after Asuka and Lucitius. She didn’t fly nearly as high as the other two, for the sake of Goldergon, but she savored the moment nonetheless.

Mardicos sighed as he watched the, now three, individuals flying around.

“Why are gods so determined to be in the clouds? Just because you’re flying around doesn’t mean you’re any better than those of us on the ground,”Mardicos snorted, shaking his head.

Lucitius basked for a long while, then lazily angled down, soon floating near Asuka. He watched her in fascination, then called to her.

“Shall we go? Or do you wish to linger a while longer?”

Deleted user

(Yeah… Mine days seem to get more and more difficult.)

"Might we linger a little longer, and see how Mardicos reacts to flight?" Asuka says, a mischevious grin on her face.

"And might we fly with Ehvara? I see that she is enjoying her form. Maybe we could help her get used to it?" she adds, with a hopeful look on her face.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

“Very well. And aye, young Ehvara would doubtlessly appreciate that,”Lucitius said with his own mischievous grin.

He waited a moment to see what Asuka would do, then casually began a slow spiral down. He contemplated if he wanted to morph, but decided to wait and see how Ehvara would do.

Ehvara fluttered about, playing and laughing. She periodically glanced down at Goldergon, smiling at him. He replied with his own smile, but his tears lingered.

Mardicos, leaning against a wall and glaring at Goldergon, didn’t bother to pay attention to the creatures above him.

Deleted user

(Asuka can be kinda mean, but also very funny at the same time. Idk how, she just is.)

Asuka slips down, close enough to Mardicos to cast a flight spell on him, far enough that he wouldn't sense her presence nearby until it was too late. Slowly, she fashions her spell as a song, a ballad to life and balance. Once she finishes, she sees Mardicos rising, slowly so that he would barely notice, and giggles.

"Hey, guys! Look at Mardicos! He's flying!" She starts to giggle more, and eventually just ends up laughing so hard she can't breathe. "Oh, my god! This is priceless, this moment." She continues laughing, and when she gets close to stopping, she just looks at him, bewildered, and just starts laughing again.

She eventually stops laughing and looks at Goldergon, Ehvara and Lucitius to gauge their reactions, still slightly breathless and giggly.

She says at the same time, "Hey, Ehvara! You can use the feathers at the tips of your wings to help you when you bank, or turn. Also, if you allow the air currents to lift you, you don't waste as much energy. See?"

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(I have several characters that are like that. And Asuka is hilarious!)

Mardicos yelped when he realized he was floating and quickly grabbed onto anything in reach to keep him on the ground. He failed somewhat, holding onto the roof desperately, his eyes glaring hatefully at Asuka.

“I’m a damn wolf, not a bird, you damn witch! I eat birds!”he snarled.

Lucitius laughed at the sight, completely amused by Mardicos’ panicking. He landed next to Mardicos, his wings rapidly folding in on themselves until they melted into his back. He grabbed Mardicos’ arm, dodging an angry kick, and lifted him higher.

“Even wolves must fly occasionally,”Lucitius joked.

“Damn you!”Mardicos spat, reaching for his axe.

“Dear Mardicos, you are missing the beauty of the realm. Look around…”Lucitius mused, lightly kicking off of the roof and levitating upward a bit.

Mardicos growled, glancing around. He noticed that Lucitius wasn’t lying about the beauty, but it was all wrong. He was a wolf, a predator of the ground, not the air. His hand still gripped his axe, but he didn’t take it from its place on his back.

Ehvara watched all of it, giggling slightly. She tried Asuka’s advice and her flying steadied considerably. She giggled some more.

Goldergon, the only one on the ground now, laid down on his back, his fingers tracing the paths of the others. Such a mindless activity seemed to keep him calm, and the hint of a smile curved his lips as he saw Mardicos floating.

Deleted user

(I can believe that.)
(Asuka: pops up Thank you for the compliment, Serpent Creator! disappears again.)

Asuka makes her way rowards Mardicos, and casts a spell that will allow him to control where he goes. At the same time, she sends out a calming force to Mardicos, to prevent any freak-outs.

"Hey, Mardicos. Come, fly with us. It's fun, the feel of the wind against your hair and face, the sun shining… it's a perfect day for flying." she says, hoping he'll be more inclined to agree if it's her asking.

She waits for a moment, then turns to Goldergon. "Hello. Would you like to be in the sky with us?" she asks. "I can promise you that if anything happens, you will be totally safe."

She waits for Goldergon's and Mardicos' responses, wondering if she'd made a mistake.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

Mardicos shot Asuka an unappreciative glare, then reluctantly escaped Lucitius, floating to the ground. He stumbled a few steps, then moved to lean on a wall, appearing a bit dizzy.

“I’ll pass. I like having my feet on the ground. You damn birds enjoy it,”Mardicos sighed, sliding to the ground.

Lucitius looked at Mardicos, humming a random tune as he continued to levitate above the street.

“It takes time to get used to. Soon, you will understand why we ‘birds’ enjoy it as much as we do,”Lucitius said with a grin.

“I doubt that,”Mardicos replied with a snort.

Goldergon hesitated when he heard Asuka’s question. He considered it for a moment, then made a noise resembling ‘um’. He then stuck a finger on his tongue, as if realizing for the first time it was there.

Ehvara glided by, giggling. Goldergon watched her thoughtfully, his finger still in his mouth. She laughed, waving at him to join her. He still stared, indecisive.

Deleted user

"Ah, c'mon Mardicos. Just try and actually fly, please? Just once?" She gives him the face nobody can say no to, hoping he'll give in.

When she gets no reaction, she sighs and turns to Goldergon, and watches him do this wierd action.

"You can't speak, can you? I'm sorry, Goldergon. I'm sorry that happened to you." she says with genuine sympathy, putting two and two together. "But I'd like it if you flew with us. I'm sure Ehvara would too." she says. "Woludn't you like it if Goldergon flew with you, Ehvara?"

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

“I’m not falling for that,”Mardicos replied with a huff. He curled his legs, leaning against the wall and breathing deep to alleviate his lingering dizziness.

Goldergon looked at Asuka and made a small whimpering noise. He touched his tongue again, then moaned, seeming confused, as if he couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t talk.

Ehvara landed next to Goldergon, turning to Asuka with a shy smile.

“… Yes,”she answered Asuka, still learning the nuances of speech.

Goldergon sat up, looking between Ehvara and Asuka. He then smiled and nodded. Ehvara beamed excitedly.

Lucitius landed on a roof, the same one Mardicos had clung to minutes earlier, perching on the edge like a bird. He breathed deeply, seeming quite content with his perch. In mere moments, it seemed as though he would doze off, though he listened quite attentively to his surroundings.

Deleted user

(Lucitius is about to be wide awake. grins)
(Asuka also has a weird sense of irony. Just read through what she does to give Goldergon speech.)
(Goldergon's mind is not completely whole, either. I just gave him speech again.)

"Hmph… fine, be like that." she huffs at Mardicos.

To Goldergon she says, "You see? She does want you to! Now, hold still for a second. I have a few things I need to do."

She turns and smiles back at Ehvara, the turns back to Goldergon to start the spells.

First, she casts the spells needed to allow Goldergon to fly for a short period of time. Then, she goes about healing the part of his mind that helps with forming sentences and speech. She starts the spell, this time shaping it into a ballad about silence. When she's finished with the spells, she is actually a lot better than she was before she had all this power and tried to heal a mind.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Grin. I see the irony, lol. And that’s fine, kind of figured)

Mardicos ignored Asuka’s words, though he seemed less than pleased by her actions with Goldergon.

Lucitius opened his eyes as Asuka started singing. He watched Goldergon, wondering what would happen.

Goldergon touched his tongue again and coughed a bit. He hummed a moment, then grinned.

“I… I can talk again. I still understand nothing, but I can talk. Why was it lost? Why is it still so quiet?”Goldergon rambled.

Mardicos sighed irritably. Lucitius, chuckling at Mardicos, jumped down from the roof. Goldergon whirled around, his eyes widening warily. Lucitius waved for Goldergon to be calm, then indicated the pouch on Goldergon’s side.

Goldergon blinked, then reached down and untied the bloody pouch, holding it in his hands. He stared at it in confusion.

“What is it?”

Lucitius waved a finger and the pouch burst into blue flames. It became ash within moments.

“Relics you have no more need of,”Lucitius answered.

Goldergon looked at Lucitius inquisitively, then scrutinized the ash in fascination. He blew on the pile and the ash scattered, half landing on him or the ground, the other half floating away. Goldergon’s eyes widened in awe.

Lucitius smiled, then turned away, wandering off. His staff appeared again, seeming unchanged, and he hummed another random tune.

“Where are you going?”Mardicos called.

“Wherever mine feet take me,”Lucitius replied without looking back. His tone was hard to describe.

Mardicos rolled his eyes and looked back at Ehvara and Goldergon. He sighed.

“Golder… gon? Ready?”Ehvara asked.

Goldergon looked back at her and smiled. Ehvara took his arm and flapped her wings, lifting away. Goldergon chuckled as he watched the street move away from him. Ehvara giggled.

@maximus-pinpoint group

Felix appeared on the ground where everyone was. He watched the flight, curiosity in his eyes. Felix almost joined them but feared they would recognize him. Felix remembered how Asuka snarled demon. He pretended it didn't hurt him then, but it did. He never chose to be a denizen of Hell.

Deleted user

Asuka notices Mardicos' displeasure, but decides it doesn't matter.

"Goldergon, I have not healed your mind. I have healed your voice, and your voice alone. I don't know how or why you lost your voice. I have my own ideas, but they are just guesses." Asuka says, feeling sorry for Goldergon.

When she sees Lucitius destroy the pouch, she says "I had somehow forgotten about that pouch until now. It is a good thing for it to be destroyed. Nothing in there is of any use anymore."

She sees Lucitius whirl his staff around again, and she starts looking like a cat watching a bird or mouse: an intent gaze, with widened eyes and dilated pupils. She quietly summons a staff of her own, and starts sneaking up behind Lucitius. She suddenly strikes out playfully at Lucitius, knowing he'll block and counter already preparing.

Suddenly, she pauses, sensing Felix nearby. She senses his vague emotions, and they feel true.

"Hey, everybody. Quiet down for a second." she says.

"Felix, I know I may have been harsh, but you have to understand: even though I have been harsh and rude to you before, I know that you aren't exactly a bad person, or demon. I sense that you want to join our flight. You're afraid we'll attack you. We won't. Just don't harm anybody, please?" Asuka asks.

@maximus-pinpoint group

"How did you know th– I mean, I don't feel that way, I don't… don't know what you mean." Felix looked away. "Not all demons are killers. I can't… I can't even fly anyway." He was very obviously lying.

Deleted user

"Okay, Felix. If that's what you want. And I know not all demons are killers. I've met you, haven't I?" Asuka replies, knowing there's no point in arguing.

As she turns away, she pauses. "If you change your mind, you know where to find me."
