(Oooh. I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope his injuries get better.)
“I can’t expect you to give up meals for a stranger,” Darren’s eyes snapped away from the food.
(Thank you. He has stitches in his head and leg and a concussion but he’s doing much better)
"Take the damn food and stop making a fuss," he said as the mircowave finished its run, beeping three times before Alistair finally opened it and took out the pack.
Darren sighed, “Fine,” he suffered a bit when the smell reached his nose.
He removed plastic cover and got out a spoon before setting the rations and the utensil on the small dining table in between the kitchen and living room area. Then he got to work on his own food, expecting Darren to sit and eat.
Darren sat down and looked at the food, this wasn't something anyone had ever been so willing to do for him. He ate slowly like it was a trick.
Alistair came to the table some few minutes later and sat down with his food, beginning to eat in silence at a moderate pace. Suddenly he paused, glancing at Darren. "I want more explanation."
Darren's eating stopped midchew. "What?"
"I want more explanation," he repeated. "None of this makes sense. The Gov's been controlling my whole entire life? How do they even determine that? I… I don't get it."
Darren shrugged, his food almost gone, “That’s what I’m trying to find out,”
"So you're just wandering about the sectors? How have you not been caught yet?" he asked.
“I’m super sneaky,” he winked.
Alistair made an unimpressed face, snorting. "I'm going to be very honest with you, you look like the most suspicious person on the street. Like who walks outside without an umbrella with their hood up, wandering the streets? Like the shadiest thing ever, I'm surprised you have been caught by a Monitor yet."
“That is where this comes into play,” he smiled and gestured to his watch.
He leaned over to look at the watch. "It looks like a normal watch," he said.
“Close. But if you push this,” he pointed to a small button, “It releases a UV/LED light that only cameras can see. It mkes it so they can’t see me all they see is light and assume it’s a glitch or the sun.”
(The Monitors are people xD)
"Clever, but that only takes care of one form of security," he pointed out, leaning back in his chair.
“The rest is illusions. That’s how I survive illusion and deception,”
(Meh)
(xD)
"Illusions? What kind of Illusions?" he said, playing with food. He wasn't even really hungry, he was just authorized to eat as soon as he got home.
“Some of them just street cons but others with technology,” he was being vague out of lack of trust.
Alistair took the information in silently and began eating small spoons of food despite his lost appetite. "I'll hide you for awhile."
“Here?” He looked around the house curiously.
