Magic is banned nearly everywhere, and for a good reason. Decades ago, a group of magic users formed a group and killed half a million people for reasons unknown to anyone else. Since then these people were caught and killed, and the world got rid of magic. Magic users are now forced to hide in the shadows unless they want to be captured by government officials.
Some magic users want their rights back, but it'll be difficult to change minds by fighting back.
People can't learn magic. If you have magical abilities, you are born with magical power in your veins. Most people only know one type of magic, and very rarely some know two. Only a handful of people know three, and usually the third type of magic is very minor.
If a magic user uses their ability too often, they will start to get marks on their skin that showcase their power. For example, someone that uses lighting magic too much might get lightning bolt scars on their body.

Magical Ability: Super Strength (weakness; extremely slow healing)
Appearance: shaggy, shoulder-length bright blond hair that gets in the way of everything, cream skin with a faint scar along his jaw and a short one through his eyebrow. Eyes; blue, but his left one looks slightly more green, (which he hates) 6'1, and very muscular. Darker bottom lashes, and dark undereye circles.
(Background too?) Personality: Murphy is known to the public as a world-record-holding kickboxing champion and Oscar-award winning actor. He started out with street fighting for money as a teenager, and after being arrested, rumours spread about a street fight and all the money lost betting on his opponent. Murphy is an extrovert, loves to socialize and be the centre of attention, but also likes blending in with the crowds of everyday life, and being alone. He grew up in the foster system and moved around a lot. He uses his kickboxing and history of streetfights to make up for the scars on his body and often plays traumatized or villainous characters in his films. He still remains to be a very private person but craves someone he can open up to.
Other: He lives in a cramped apartment covered in stacks of vintage comic books and doesn't read the news, because every time he does, there's always an article on the imprisonment or arrest of magic users. Murphy wears glasses (only when he's alone.) He likes to knit.

Personality: she gets scared easily, and is very shy, but also easily manipulated.she doesn't like to make eye contact, and doesn't like social interaction. the reason for all of this is because when she was eight years old, she was kidnapped by her father from her mother (they were divorced at the time) and after three years, she ran away and got picked up by a man who didn't care about her at all. repeat this running away process for about five times and she ended up with another man who treated her decently, but overall didn't really care about her that much. by this time, she had completely given up hope of every finding a safe place to hide, and be herself.

Magical Ability: Shapeshifting (The longer she stays in one form the more he forgets how they orignally looked. So she never stays in one form for more than an hour out of fear. It also hurts to change, like a lot.)
Appearance: Uneven dark brown hair with light blue tipped side swept bangs, one blue eye and one green eye, light brown skin, freckles dotting everywhere, decently muscled, and is only around 5'6"
Personality: She's very vocal about his thoughts and opinions, however keeps their magic a secret. She's great at organizing people together and he would definitely be one of the leading forces to any change that might happen. They're intelligent and we'll spoken mainly from her upbringing though he's lacking in experience when it comes to magic.
Other: Her parents are well known politians with anti magic veiws. He's had to keep their abilities a secret for most of her life. Once he turned 20 they finally were able to move out of that house with a steady job and have been learning her limits ever since.

Weakness: If he shape-shifts for too long he starts coughing up blood and starts feeling really tired.
Appearance: Short sandy blond hair with black roots, yellow eyes, tan skin and he’s around 5’8.
Personality: Benevolent, charming, affable, polite, a bit obnoxious, slightly sadistic and mysterious.
Other: From a very young age, Bill has been on his own. His parents abandoned him when he was 7 and a half. He lived in a forest for most of his life and from a young age he took interest in nature and anomalies. He didn’t find out he had powers until he was 17 when he had a small incident at his job.
