"Yeah I know." He grabs Corbin's hand reassuringly. His eyes had gone dark again and all he could see where shadows again, "I have a good reason to be afraid though. Just history."
"Yeah I know." He grabs Corbin's hand reassuringly. His eyes had gone dark again and all he could see where shadows again, "I have a good reason to be afraid though. Just history."
Corbin gave an understanding nod. “I get it,” he said slowly. His thumb rubbed on the back of Matrix’s hand as he held it.
Matrix stares straight ahead at the blurry road, "Just be careful ok…?"
“I will, I promise,” Corbin said, licking his lips. After a few minutes of driving, he pulled up to the restaurant. He pulled into a spot and turned off the car. “Stay close to me, alright? And don’t talk to anyone. I’m going to keep you safe,” he told Matrix, looking over at him.
"Keep me safe." Matrix bumps the door with his hand to try and find the door handle, blinking furiously, "Are people being pricks about demons?" He was sarcastic. Humans have always hated demons.
Corbin got out of the car, walking around and opening the door for Matrix. “They usually are. I’ve seen it. Humans can be pricks,” he sighed. “But I’m going to take care of you, I promise.”
"Oh thanks." He rubs his eyes with his arms hard and slides out of the car, "Fine. After you then." He trips on the curb once but grabs onto Corbin's elbow to guide him.
Corbin held onto Matrix’s arm, giving the other a gentle smile. He led Matrix into the building, and immediatly felt a few stares on them. Of course there would be stares. They thought that Matrix was his “pet”, and it was rare that someone would take their pet to a public resturant. It was a seat yourself sort of place, so he led Matrix over to a booth.
"I'm… Feeling… Eyes. Im feeling eyes on us." He looks around, blinking
Corbin gave a nod. “That’s to be expected. Don’t worry about them,” he said lowly. He sat down, reaching up to run a hand through his neat hair.
Matrix feels around for a bit before sliding into the opposite booth. He pats at the table, shaking his head. His ears flick slightly as he hears whispers all around them. He ducks his head slightly
Corbin arched a brow. He had been about to ask if Matrix’s eyes were alright, but he was cut off when a waiter came over. The man started at Matrix for a moment with a glare, before Corbin got his attention by clearing his throat. The waiter apologized to Corbin and asked what he wanted to drink. Corbin just ordered the water, and the waiter began to walk away. “Hold on,” he spoke up sharply, and the waiter stopped with a confused expression. “You need to take his order too,” he said levely.
The waiter still seemed confused. “The.. The demon’s order, sir?”
“Yes, that’s what I said. I didn’t just bring him here for nothing,” he said with a roll of his eyes. He looked over at Matrix now. “What do you want?”
Matrix was staring in the wrong direction but hisses, "Just water too." As the waiter walks away he narrows his eyes, "Ya know you don't have to right? I get why they are staring, talking and what not."
Corbin gave a sigh. “I took you here so you can get something better than my shitty homemade food. I’ll be damned if these people ruin this,” he huffed.
"One. Your food isn't shitty. Two. I'm a freaking demon. People will always be talking, curing and what not. But. Fine." He was still staring blindly at the wrong spot but he leans back in the chair with his arms crossed defiantly.

(Alrighty)
Corbin frowned gently. He wanted so terribly to press his lips to Matrix’s forehead, or at least hold his damn hand. “I’m sorry, okay? I just.. I want to do this for you,” he had lowered his voice so no one else could hear. “To take care of you.”
Matrix smiles slightly," I mean. Don't get me wrong. This is nice. And I appreciate it." He snorts slightly, leaning forward again to lean his elbows on the table.
Corbin’s frown went away a bit, and a soft smile played on his lips. “M’hm. This is better.”
Matrix scratches his horn stump. His ears flick as the word demon is repeated from all around them. He stays quiet though
Corbin sat up straighter when the waiter arrived back. He set down their drinks before handing Corbin a menu. He raised his brows expectantly, and the waiter seemed confused before also setting one down for Matrix, which seemed to please Corbin. The waiter excused himself afterwards.
"Ya know I can't read this right." He waves a hand infront of his eyes," Also… Uhm… Nvm." He pats the menus then opens it, pretending to read it even though it was obviously upside down.
Corbin chuckled a bit, and flipped it the right way. “Why are you having a hard time seeing?” He asked.
"Oh. It's another side effect for-" He motions to his 'heart, "It'll go away soon." He smiles at Corbin but it was way off to the left.
Corbin reached over, throwing a glance around before grabbing onto Matrix’s chin and tilting Matrix’s head to look at him. To others, the motion seemed demanding and rough, but his movements were actually gentle.
"Huh? Hey!" Matrix barks but not too loud, "What?! What did I do?!" He looks around over the top of Corbin's head blankly.
