Cade looked at Reyna, then looked away. “But it’s easier this way.”

“Hi,” Chelsea said, smiling. “can I come in?”

Alex tried to decide something. "Maddie isn't doing well right now. The stress is getting to her." She said quietly.

Chelsea frowned, “She isn’t doing well? I’ll make her some tea.”

“It won’t.”

Maddie took to pills out of the bottle and swallowed them dry. Father made these for me. He did everything he could for me. She ground her teeth a little as she put the lid back on. At lest this might keep me sane for the next few hours

Chelsea frowned, “She isn’t doing well? I’ll make her some tea.”

Alex stayed silent for a moment before responding. "Fine, but please don't make her feel worse." She said before leading the way to the kitchen.

"Are you okay?" Oliver asked worriedly, glancing down at the bottle of pills and back up at Maddie. These sudden changes in personality were reappearing more often.

“Why would I? I’ve known her for years.” Chelsea said, clearly offended. She was tearing up again.

“Yes, it will. Or it’ll twist you into something else. That’s partially what happened to my mother, you know? Of course, she’s from Wonderland, she was half-insane already. But my dad said something happened to her and then she wasn’t sweet Maeve anymore, she turned into the person now who tries to behead anyone she sees.”

“Why would I? I’ve known her for years.” Chelsea said, clearly offended. She was tearing up again.

"Sorry." She apologized quiet and saw Maddie getting some pills. She rushed over. "Here." She offered quietly and helped her over to a chair.

Thanatos turned to see Chelsea and his face lit up as soon as he made eye contact with her. "Hey Chelsea" he greeted smiling widely.

“Well if I told the others, won’t I hurt the others? I don’t want to do that.” Cade sighed.

(He's been her best friend since child hood and he puts up with her when her sanity fails, and moments where she gets to see his kinder side reminds her of her mother. she refuses to say anything for fear of him leaving besides he flirts with other people in front of her she truthfully believes he's not interested in her.)

Susan knocked on the door. "Hey, mortals, anyone home?"

Alex's last confidence came crashing when she saw how Thanatos reacted to Chelsea. Alex knelt down and lean her head against Maddie. "Sorry." She apologized again. A silent tear streamed down her face.

She walked through the door. Literally, She walked through the solid wood it was made of.

Thanatos turned to see Chelsea and his face lit up as soon as he made eye contact with her. "Hey Chelsea" he greeted smiling widely.

“Thanatos! I didn’t think I’d see you soon.” Chelsea grinned.

"I'm fine just stressed," rolling the bottle between her hands. "My father is gone, there are mice in hats and bow ties, and I took an unpleasant trip down memory lane."

"Thats great Maddie, but what will I do? I have no one." She croaked softly as she sat on the floor.

Susan asked to the room at large, "Anyone home?"

"Everything will be okay," Oliver said, trying to reassure Maddie and Alex. From a young age, he had to learn to look on the bright side and cover up everything with smiles and jokes. "We can solve this." He added, hoping that his words were true. They had to be. There was a solution to everything.
