Jude had quietly woken to the soft light of the sunrise, colouring the walls like bright parchment. He'd carefully slipped out of their tangled hold on each other, careful not to wake him as he made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower. He smiled at the sound of scratching outside the front door and let Macy wander inside, moving on to the kitchen to start their monumental breakfast, humming softly as he worked.

Nyx kept sleeping, curled up in the blankets tiredly. His legs had somehow ended up wrapped around Jude's, and had to be disentangled. Of course, as he couldn't exactly feel his legs, this wasn't a big deal. He sighed softly, still sleeping.

(is he gonna wake up by himself, or should jude wake him?)

Jude smiled as Macy wandered into the kitchen, softly pawing at his ankles in hopes of a treat. He'd set the table with cutlery, juice, and syrup, along with some chopped fruit to go with the chocolate-chip pancakes he was preparing. Jude shooed Macy away, quietly chuckling at she waddled into the bedroom.

(he'll wake up)

Nyx was eventually awoken by the smell of food, sitting up and rubbing his eyes sleepily. He spotted Macy, and let out a soft coo of greeting, reaching down and picking up the little cat in his arms.

Jude curiously glanced down the hall at some faded noise from his room. He ran a hand through his drying hair that was nearly touching his shoulders, brushing it off as Macy hopping up on the bed to investigate Nyx peacefully sleeping. He flipped the last round of pancakes, wiggling his fingers as he tried to think if he'd forgotten anything.

Nyx sleepily cradled the little cat close, petting her softly. "Good morning." he mumbled to the cat. He got out of the bed and headed to the kitchen.

Jude heard soft steps coming down the hall and turned just in time to see Macy held in the arms of Nyx, who was wearing a very soft expression that he couldn't help but grin at. "Hi," He greeted, smiling like an idiot.

Nyx looked up and gave him a sleepy little smile. "Good morning." he greeted, walking over to Jude and still holding Macy. His black hair was messy from sleep, his clothes rumpled.

“Morning,” He said back, pulling him closer for a quick kiss on his cheek and noticing the fading hickey on the side of Nyx’s neck. “Ooh,” Jude smiled, gently touching it, “This looks nice on you.”

Nyx smiled up at Jude, and let out a faint laugh at that. "Hmm." he simply replied sleepily, cuddling into Jude's side with the cat gently held in his arms.

"Did you sleep good?" Jude asked, wondering if Nyx could answer that as he ran a hand through his messy hair. With his free hand, he switched off the stove, softly smiling at the warm pancakes waiting in the pan.

Nyx shrugged a little bit. "I don't really have anything to compare it to. So I don't know." He replied sleepily, running a hand through Macy's fur.

"Well…did it feel different than saying in the pod?" Jude wondered out loud, crouching down to smile at Macy as he pet her. She looked at him without the slightest interest, yawning to prove it.

He nodded a little. "Yeah. I don't…dream, in the pod." He replied softly, looking at Jude with a faint little smile.

"Mhm, you told me." Jude nodded, sliding the last round of pancakes onto the plates waiting beside the stove, "It's a shame, though. Dreams are so fun to have. They're like…little movies every night that you somehow make."

He nodded a little bit. "I know! I dreamed last night." He replied excitedly, smiling over at Jude. He petted Macy as he spoke.

"You…did?" Jude said with a surprised smile, holding the frying pan in midair as he spoke, "How was it? What did you dream?"

Nyx shrugged a little. "It was…. interesting." He replied with another happy smile. "I don't know. You were in it." He kissed Jude's cheek, still smiling.

"I was?" Jude mused, raising his eyebrows with a little smile as he put the frying pan in the sink, picking up their plates.

He nodded. "Mhm." He replied, closing his eyes and leaning his head on Jude's shoulder. "You were."

"Hm," Jude said with a lazy smile, "You wanna tell me about it over breakfast? Macy can just roam around as she pleases."

"Sure." He replied with a smile. He put Macy down. "What's for breakfast?" He asked, looking up at Jude.

(Idk how active I'll be tonight)

"Chocolate-chip pancakes," Jude answered, casually tilting his head to the side and looking at the table, "With some fruit on the side, because we gotta have somethin' a little healthy."
