Nyx watched the record, and leaned his head on Jude's shoulder for a moment. "Thank you." he said softly.
Nyx watched the record, and leaned his head on Jude's shoulder for a moment. "Thank you." he said softly.
"Hm? For what?" Jude mumbled, watching the needle vibrate in place, reading the music through whatever process it went through.
"The music, and…everything." he replied quietly, staying pressed close to Jude.
"You don't…need to thank me for that," Jude said through a breathy laugh, snaking an arm around his waist, "You can thank Kevin Costner for his voice but…I didn't really do anything. –It's just a record."
( i gtg in a bit)
(ok)
"Well yeah, but…" he trailed off, leaning into Jude's side contentedly. "Still."
"Still? Okay," He smiled, listening to the music that Nyx had picked, a fast-tempo paired with slow vocals that made things pleasantly overwhelming.
Nyx leaned into Jude's side contentedly, closing his eyes. "You said something about food?" He asked.
“Yes, pasta,” Jude said with a smile, turning to give him a quick kiss on his cheek, “To the kitchen~”
(not gonna be on tonight, sorry)
Nyx nodded a little bit, and followed Jude to the kitchen, smiling a little as he did so.
(idk if you'll see this, but :) thanks for lettin me know )
Jude hummed as he pulled out a few pots and pans from a set of cupboards and hesitated, turning back to Nyx with a smile, "Wait– this is your first time cooking, right?"
( :) Np! Also turns out I'm kinda on for a bit? Idk lol)
Nyx noddd in confirmation, sticking near Jude and looking around the kitchen curiously. He ran a hand through his hair.
Jude opened his fridge covered in his notes of messy handwriting, pictures, and postcards from his friends overseas. He placed a few ingredients on the counter and picked up the larger pot, heading towards the sink, "First, we gotta boil the water, for the spaghetti. Could you look in that cupboard for the canned tomatoes?" Jude asked, nodding at the cupboard to Nyx's left.
Nyx nodded, looking through the cupboard. He had no idea what canned tomatoes looked like, so he read the labels on each can until he found them. He set them down on the counter. "These?" He asked.
"Mhm," Jude smiled as the water streamed into the pot. "We need to open it so– oh!" He beamed, quickly setting the pot of water onto the stove and digging through a drawer. After a short moment, he pulled out a smooth c-shaped tool with a battery on its side. Jude showed it to Nyx, "It's a little robot can-opener."
Nyx blinked, looking at the can opener curiously. "Hm." he wondered if he could open the can himself, using his fingers. He looked at his hands. He didn't think he could, not with the skin covering the metal.
Jude set the little machinery on the top of the can and listened as it quietly whirred, smiling at Nyx who was looking at his hands. "What are you thinking about?" Jude asked curiously, bringing his own hands to softly hold his.
(gtg soon sorry)
"I was wondering if I could get the can open myself." he replied with a laugh, looking up at Jude with a smile. "Maybe if my hands were still just metal, but not with the skin on them."
(all good)
"Hm," Jude smiled with raised eyebrows, "I don't think we should try, though," He joked, turning back to the can of tomatoes, putting away the can opener and emptying the tomatoes into a pan. "Not with the skin on them," He repeated, muttering in quiet amusement.
Nyx wrinkled his nose at Jude. "What? It's true. If I took this skin off, then I probably could get the cans open." he said with a smile. "If I tried with the skin on, then the skin would tear and look weird."
"Oooh, don't talk about tearing skin off." Jude looked back at Nyx and shivered with a comical disgust. "Ughh, it's such a weird image, why did you–" He said through a laugh, shaking his head and smiling.
Nyx grinned teasingly. "But it's true." he said again. "Besides, it wouldn't be as bad for me as for you."
"Still," Jude wrinkled his nose and smiled, "And why would you want to do that, anyway? Ugh," He laughed and shivered again, absentmindedly wiggling his fingers.
He laughed a little bit, and kissed Jude's cheek. "I wouldn't feel it. I can shut off the nerves if I need to." he replied. "My brain can, anyways. Or…i don't know, exactly. But pain doesn't register for me."
“Really?” Jude asked, still fascinated with all the details that had gone into his being. A curious idea popped into his mind as he turned to turn the two burners on. His eyebrows furrowed in thought as he spoke hesitantly, “When you say that pain doesn’t register for you— do you know if that includes um…emotional pain? If that makes sense.”
