Lance nodded. He focused, focusing on one thing.
His sister. Red hair. Happy. Singing with her friends.
He transferred that into his hands. He thought nothing would happen. At first. But then….something felt…hot?
"Holy, son of a biscuit." He said, looking down at his hands, which were on fire.

Nicole already could do that. Drawing. The only thing that made her happy.
With no friends, and essentially no father, it was the only thing she could do.
"I have a bunch of vines in my hand. What the fuck."
They were dark green, and even darker leaves. They moved around, seemingly sentient.
"Mommy…?" They whispered. Or maybe not, and she was going insane.
(THE LAST SENTENCE KILLED ME LMAO XD)
Sparrow rolled her eyes in disbelief but did as Dart instructed. She imagined the only happy thing she could which, coincidentally, was also the memory that bought tears to her eyes. The first time her first boyfriend brought her away from the guild and showed the sea. Sparrow had memorised every part of that view and even now, she could hear the sound of the waves as they crashed on the rocks below the cliff they were standing on. She could feel the soft grass beneath her feet and the mist wetting her face. The bright green cliffs looked striking against the grey and blue of the sea and sky. It was breathtaking.
Sparrow opened her eyes and looked at her hands. Or the ends of her arms. Her hands had disappeared and she had only her arms. "Yo what the fuck?" She jumped back, unsurprisingly the arm stubs followed. She moved her arms together and realized that her hands had simply become invisible. "Sick." She smirked and looked around to see some of the others ability. It was then that she heard a voice in her mind, scaring the living daylights out of her.
'Hey boss, I missed you.'
"What the fuck? Who are you?" She thought. Right then, Ace the sun conure, flew down from the sky and perched onto Sparrow's arm.
'It's Ace, boss. I can talk to you and hear you!'
Sparrow couldn't believe what was going on, she stared at the bird on her arm with a deadpan look before shaking the creature off and taking a few steps back.
"Get out of my head!" She grit her teeth and glared at the bird.
(AAAAAND THAT'S HIS CATCHPHRASE NOW-)
Lance instinctively, for whatever reason, started waving the fire in the air. It was graceful and fluid.
Beautiful.
"I'm on fire and it's amazing. This is better than the time I used Fireball." He said, mesmerized.
This was mind bending, impossible. But awesome.
"Master Maddox, I'm controlling fire."
———————————————————————————
Nicole smiled. "They're kinda cute…in a planty way."
She let them crawl up her arm, giggling and happy. They were like joyous toddlers.
"Mommy, mommy!" They said, wiggling.
"Dart, are the plants supposed to call me 'Mommy'?"
"You have no reason to call me Master, that sounds far too formal. Maddox or any one of my many nicknames is perfectly fine, Lance." Maddi laughed and reversed her transformation, sitting on the ground cross legged.
"You seem to have a good control over the element, it is graceful and warm instead of angry and hot. As I mentioned this isn't the only ability you will have, many of you will have at least 2 dominant powers or physical powers, and some of you may also have 1 or 2 dormant powers such as Sparrow there who seems to have a mindlink with her animal guide." She explained, observing as the pair stared at each other, likely conversing in her mind.
"If you would like to find out your other powers, you could Leyfei come and read your blood. This is similar to fortune telling only he does so with a small drop of blood and you will be able to know what 9ther things you can do. Or you can wait to find out over the course of the next few days." Maddi gestured for Leyfei to come next to her and he did so, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and grinning slyly. "Come forth children, give me your blood."
Dart looked at the plants with disdain, plants were not his favourite magic force, they were too needy, too whining. "Yes, they are plants after all, they need certain things to survive which means that you may need to feed them occasionally or eat some dirt or plant food once in a while." He said, sniffing. "Similar to children and they did come from you so I suppose in a way…" He trailed off, letting her fill in the blanks herself.
"I'm a mother. At 250 years old. Shit." Nicole sighed and rubbed some dust off of her glasses.
"But dirt? I could probably grab a bit of dirt from the ground I guess…" She muttered lowly, now thinking about the possible care for these plants.
Perhaps some water and dirt every three hours, or something like that.
A mother. That's some weird things to think about.

Lance nodded. "Of course. Er, Maddi. If I may ask, what will happen to you all when we become Guardians?" He stopped with the fire. No point with that anymore now that he had a good control over it. Ish. Kind of.
"Will you…disappear? Or still exist, just as mortals?"
Destiny frowned but did as she was instructed. She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and thought about her siblings. When she opened her eyes, she looked at her hands. She frowned even more. "Nothing. I mean, they're just dusty with something golden." She looked around. "Huh, guess I don't have a power."
She paused. And then it hit her. It wasn't dust. It was fairy dust. She raised a hand and thought about a leaf. Immediately, the fairy dust materialized into a leaf. And then it turned into a bird. And then a bucket. She laughed as she tried making a miniature tree, which she did without fail. It wasn't as fancy as the others, but it worked for her.
"Dead, but I can manipulate fairy dust." She paused. "Holy Hades I can manipulate fairy dust. I wonder if it's possible to make anything I make out of fairy dust solid. That'd be nice. Just make a dagger out of fairy dust. And BOOM. It becomes solid. It wouldn't be wise to mess with a trickster who has a weapon."
Maddi put a hand on Lance's shoulder and smiled softly. "We won't dissappear, we just will become spirit guides, only seen by you whenever you need us and we will have solid, physical forms in this realm."
Lance breathed a small sigh of relief. It would be…upsetting to have another master die in some way.
"That is…useful information." He said, nodding slightly. It was also curious how they could only take a spirit form in any of the realms, but in this separate dimension they could take a physical form.
Like perhaps a daemon. Interesting.
(Does anyone want to do a short time skip to after they have mastered their powers and become better friends?)
(Um)
(Sure, sounds interesting)
(sure, I have no problem with that)
(once again i'm super late but sure)
(Alright!)
Sparrow whistled and jumped from the branch of a nearby tree onto another. Percy and Leyfei had given them a test. They had been split into groups to test their skills. Sparrow, August, and Nicole had been put into a team together to be the 'hunted'. They were running from the other four to get to the gates to Nicole's home realm before getting captured.
Ace responded by diving down to where Sparrow was and giving her, her sight. Ace flew back up and flew in slow circles. Sparrow blinked and broke the connection, turning to look at her teammates. "So I saw them planning something but with how skilled Destiny has gotten with her illusions, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to deceive us. I could go invisible and look ahead or we could make a plan of attack." She explained her findings in a low voice, keeping her powers of sight active.
Thalassa glanced around at the others on her team, her expression determined. She had shown herself to be quite competitive, and she was determined to win. "We should split into two groups of two and surround the others, coming from two sides so it's harder for them to escape. That way we can circle them and hopefully capture all three of them at once," she explained, using hand gestures as she spoke. She tended to do that, waving her arms almost rapidly sometimes to further her points, taking up a lot of space as she spoke.
"And Destiny can use her illusions to confuse them as we close in," suggested Luciano with a thoughtful look. "That way they'll hopefully be too focused on the illusions to look for us, or if they are looking for us, too paranoid. I can always help with my emotion shit if things get dicey for us."
