Nathan pushed open a door and coughed when a big dust cloud came to greet him. He poked around, using the small bit of light outside to find his way. "I think I found some flashlights!" He called, picking up a cool metal rod
Esmae sighed as she grabbed a tray for food. "Do whatever you like." She knew it would turn out like this. But why this guy? What was his rank in this company? Wouldn't they make a higher up watch her in case? She grabbed a plate and put some sausage and pancakes on it, and grabbed a glass of orange juice. "Do you know all the training I'll be doing today? And what exactly is the point of this training, what do you all want from me?" She knew she wouldn't get an answer, but it was worth asking just in case.
(Ahh sorry)
“Hm… no,” Cassius replied.
He had seemed like he was thinking for a moment, and then he just gave the simple response.
“No one has told me much. Just that I’m to look after you. Closely.”
He took a sip of his tea and placed the cup back down on the table.
Vida was in the back, muttering to herself nervously.
“Ijustwannagetoutofhere…”
She squeezed her eyes shut for a moment then almost ran into the person right in front of her.
Katya turned as Vida almost ran into her. She offered a hand to Vida with a light blush on, "Here. We should stick together and then we can get out faster."
"O-okay," Vida whispered, taking Katya's hand, "Why are we even here? Do you guys actually think snooping around in this old place will help us find Esmae?"
"Maybe," Katya muttered quietly as she glanced around the dark area, "That's why were here."
Magnus grabbed a flashlight from Nathan and turned it on. "We have a bit more light now." He muttered. He walked ahead of the others and heard buzzing coming from a room up ahead. "Hey, I hear something from behind this door." He called out
"A-are you sure you want to open it?" Vida asked, leaning forwards a bit to see, but still hanging as far back as possible.
"I don't know, it sounds like buzzing. Actually, I think it's static!" He said in surprise. Radios and things like walkie talkies haven't been in production for a long time so hearing static was fairly odd.
"Static?" Katya asked carefully, "Maybe we shouldn't go in there."
"Well we won't know until we look." Magnus said uncertainly.
(I finished 2 out of approx 10 characters for this story)
(Ooh, nice!)
"Be careful," Vida warned.
She knew she couldn't stop them from checking it out, and in fact was growing a little more curious herself. Vida hid just behind Katya but was peeking around her slightly.
Katya looked at Magnus. She gave a concerned look, "I guess. Go ahead then."
Magnus shrugged and nervously pushed open the door. Inside the dimly lit room was a table with multiple screens. The buzzing sound was coming from an old antique radio. Magnus shone a beam of light on the monitors and found that they were running, just shut off. "Guys, come in here, I think I found something." He said, feeling behind the screen and pushing a button, turning all if them on with a low hum. On the screens they could see a video surveillance of all their favourite spots, restaurants, amusement parks, malls, parks, and even their houses. "What the fuck?" Nathan said, coming in the room.
Vida inched forwards.
"Um… we've been… we've been watched all th-this time?" Vida stammered, "By whom?! Why?!"
She shuddered at the thought.
(Idk what to do from this point, y'all are welcome to do anything)
Katya went quiet her free fist clenched and her other hand holding Vida's hand tightly. She had no words, they were being watched? This entire time? That was so fucked up. So incredibly fucked up.
(Have the bad guys been using this spot to watch them or something?)
(Sorry, I'll have post a bit later. My weekends are so busy.)
Esmae gave him a weird look when he said 'closely' Something about the way he said it gave her the chills. "Okay…" She took a bit of her eggs, taking glances at him occasionally, then looked around. She seemed to be the only one wearing different clothes. Most everyone is scientists here. Esmae felt so out of place.
Caleb also took a flashlight. When the door was open he walked in to see, many screens lined the wall, although most of the were just static, while on the other hand, some you could clearly see outside. "Did they know we were coming and fled?" If they fled that meant they know they didn't have a chance, so maybe who they are dealing with was weak? Even if Caleb thought that way, he wasn't going to underestimate them.
(Yeah, that's how they knew exactly when and where to attack)
Thalia finished her food and dumped her tray in its designated spot before heading over to Esmae and Cassius and looking over at them. "I got a page saying that the brat needs to be taken back to her room. We are going to have the top go against her and see how she fares." She said in a very non caring voice
"Brat?" Esmae gave her a look. Brat, I'm no brat. Esmae stood and went to go put her tray away, as she did so she purposely bumped into Thalia. Esmae hated her, and Thalia probably knew that. "Fine, put me up against anyone." Esmae wasn't conceited enough to think she'll win every fight, but there was no use in arguing. "Cas, are you leading me back, or am I going to have to wander the halls for hours?"
"Of course I'm leading you back," Cassius said.
He was eyeing Thalia with a dagger gaze all this time. A little anger bubbled up when she called this girl a brat, and even more when she said that she'd have to fight people, but he held his tongue. As long as no one laid a scratch on her pretty face…
Vida frowned. "Maybe they were just that fast… Say, is there any way we can see previous footage? Maybe we can see who the kidnappers were!"
Katya nodded and looked at the computer, "Yeah we can probably do that! All we have to is rewind the feeds, right?"
"Anyone good with computers? Not a very good Cyber person." Nathan said, rubbing his neck sheepishly.
Thalia smirked when Esmae bumped into her and stopped Cassius. "Miss. N wants you to help me with my modifications before we do the same to the others." She called
