Aylo adjusted her hand on her dagger as she saw Lillian look towards the trees. She narrowed her eyes and looked into the darkness.
Aylo adjusted her hand on her dagger as she saw Lillian look towards the trees. She narrowed her eyes and looked into the darkness.
"A gleam?" She waved at the trees. "Come on out, dude."
Cuyo sauntered out of the foliage. "Hey." He said.
Lillian looked at the new guy. "Do you stalk women through leaves a lot?"
"Seems like he might." Aylo shrugged, studying Cuyo.
"Stalking, none of that nonsense, I was coming over to check out a metallic gleam." Cuyo said. "Don't flatter yourselves."
Aylo scoffed and put her daggers away. Her blue eyes shifted colors in the moonlight. "Metallic gleam?"
"Probably your daggers, and her arrowtips." He said. He heard a sound like thunder, looking up, he observed, that it was so not thunder. "Look up there." He said, tensely, pointing to the sky.
Lillian looked up. "What?"
She looked up, furrowing her brow in confusion.
"The dragon!" Cuyo whispered. "Get to cover."
Lillian ducked behind a tree, dragging Skye with her.
Up there, was a gigantic monstrosity, that soared, roaring, flailing it's tail like a mighty banner of death.
"Wheelhaven!"
Aylo ducked down next to Cuyo.
"What is that." She whispered.
"Looks like an Air Dragon if I ever saw one." He said. He drew watched it fly along the horizon.
{Air dragon. I could control part of it. . .} She thought. Being a nephilim, Aylo excelled in using air magic. Though, she didn't tell Cuyo.
(Air dragons are dragons with long, slender necks and tails, sleek bodies, huge, powerful wings, and big frills, which use their enhanced lung capacity like a breath-weapon.)
"Maybe." He said.
Lillian looked up. An air dragon… she could control it if she tried hard enough. She kept this information to herself, though, and simply gaped at the creature along with the others.
"We need to get out of here now." Aylo whispered, looking over at Lillian and Skye. She pulled two short swords out.
Lillian nodded. She pulled out a bow and set up her quiver.
"It isn't too far to get to Wheelhaven," She started. "I think I can stop the dragon. I just need to get a little closer." Aylo pushed herself into a crouch.
"I'll help." Lillian drew her bow and joined Aylo.
She nodded and glanced at Cuyo and Skye. "We'll be back. Meet us in the square." Aylo ran to Lillian and motioned to follow her. They went down a path, the trees above so dense, that light couldn't puncture through it.
Lillian followed Aylo through the trees. "Nephilim?"
