Morrigan didn’t meet her eyes for a second. “My dad’s weird that way.”, was all she said, lying convincingly.

"Huh. I could try and get you an off the record spot in my course, if you like?"

“That-that would be really nice if you, but…… my dad wouldn’t like it.” He’d probably cut me or worse.

“I’m going to follow you around until I have to go, then,” he said, looking at his watch.

Cassian turned around a shrugged, but he was grinning like an idiot–but of course he wouldn’t let Estin see that. “C’mon.” He said as nonchalantly as he could.

Cassian went back to his introvert corner after his mom had told them that dinner would be ready in another hour.

Lily decided to go back to twitter. She sent a message to Nesryn.

“… sure.” Cassian said, still huddling in his corner. “Do you want to go first?”

“Is it alive?”

“Yep.”
