(They do have bad luck. Jabe is cursed to have bad luck. Well, she thinks that, but really it's just irony that she's gotten chosen so many times.)

If you’ve been picked as a sacrifice, you can’t escape unless you have a robot friend who’s willing to pull some strings. You don’t get out of sacrifice. And Jabe isn’t exactly friendly to robots, so….

(No, she actually has a robot employer, she was just intrigued by Troja. She has no "Friends" unless you count Reese, but useful contacts who get her out of things like this. Also, she's a skilled hacker so…..)

Riley cursed as she saw her name up on the list of sacrifices. Her thoughts began to race. How could she get out of this one?
Riley could see no plausible outcome in which she would not be taken as a sacrifice. She didn't have any robot contacts who were high-up enough to get her out of this one. There was only one option then. She would let herself get taken. Maybe she'd be able to avenge her family once she was inside the robot stronghold.
She decided to first knock on the door of the warehouse and tell them they were going to miss the ceremony.

(Jack and Benedict are being gay while Jasper is third wheeling.)

(And Jabe is going to fail at flirting with Reese.)
