"Yeah, if that's the case i don't know if I like him being near her…i want to trust him, but if he's lost control before.."
He shook his head, "i could be over thinking this, so don't let this make you have less faith for Kali and Ignis, but still keep an eye out, okay?"
He bit his lip, looking at noel, before looking back at the car.
"Let's just go."
Ignis covered the wound, trying his best to hide his pain. "Whatever just happened is now in the past. There are still seals for us to protect. However let us go back home and rest. It's been that kind of day"
After hours of navigating, they returned to the apartment building near Ignatius's fire seal. Ignis didn't speak throughout the ride there, not even when they pulled into the dark garage. He merely left the light on and left the vehicle. It wasn't even seconds before Ignis collapsed on the floor.
Alister nodded, looking at Kali and Ignis with concern. How long until he snapped, lost control completely? He wouldn’t want Kali to be there when that happened. But if that kiss told him anything, he at least wanted them to be happy together.
As he went over to the car, he glanced at Noel. “Are you alright with sitting behind me?”
He heard a small sigh before she replied, “Yeah, it’s okay.” She still held onto him, but let go once they reached the car and got in. Alister put himself in the passenger’s seat.
Kali was there to catch him when he collasped, holding him in her arms. She said nothing and simply went inside the house going upstairs, going to his room and laying him down in his bed, if the others tried to say something in protest she would ignore them, and if they blocked her way she voided.
Evan was actually going to say something but he knew it wouldn't change anything, his sister had it handled just fine, or so he hoped.
He sighed, "Well then i guess it's just us to fend for ourselves."
“Actually, I was hoping we could sleep.” Alister ruffled his wild hair, and a yawn came out of him as if on cue. Noel stood near him, though she wasn’t clinging to him anymore. Her eyes were droopy and her expression seemed set in morose exhaustion. Neither of them had stood in Kali’s way, though Alister watched her climb the stairs and tried to listen for anything suspicious.
When Ignis was laid upon his bed, the door slowly shuts and an older version of Ignis's voice speaks loud but softly, "He is injured, and yet his own magic fails to heal him." In Kali's surprise, an older man appeared in the room in a fading effect. His eye lit a flame and his left arm bare. He wore a black tuxedo with his left arm sleeve torn off. He walks around Ignis, studying him.
Kali almost jumped at the sound of the old Ignis voice, before turning towards the sound of his voice. "I knew he wasnt telling the truth about the wound healing…maybe i could?.." she moved to put her hand on his wound, maybe she could pulse it with dark energy and get it to heal like evan did? She did it before…
“Actually, I was hoping we could sleep.” Alister ruffled his wild hair, and a yawn came out of him as if on cue. Noel stood near him, though she wasn’t clinging to him anymore. Her eyes were droopy and her expression seemed set in morose exhaustion. Neither of them had stood in Kali’s way, though Alister watched her climb the stairs and tried to listen for anything suspicious.
Evan nodded, "There should be another room upstairs i think, i don't really know the lay out of this place." He rubbed his face, "we should all get some rest."
Like he actually was planning on it, he wasn't. He had to make sure nothing went down.
The old figure moved her hands away from Ignis, "You were made aware of me? Not even his light friend had such privilege. My name is Ignatius, I am the fire bearer." The old man returned to examining Ignis, "This wound was caused by a very rare and dangerous creature. Made by the darkness but corrupted by absence. The Shadow Wraith"
(remember the building was an old apartment building refurbished. there are eight floors and tons of rooms.")
She frowned when he moved her hands away from him, almsot snapping at him or touching Ignis out of spite, she held off, though she wanted to heal him and just be done with it.
"what did it do to him? Why don't you want me to touch him?"
(Hhhh I’ll be active sometime later, idk)
"My apologies. You may be in contact, but your healing abilities will not heal this wound any further. The Shadow Wraith has marked him. Tasted his very flesh." Ignatius spoke softly, "what is he to you to have been so trusted?"
"tasted his very flesh? What, is he being hunted now? How do I kill it?" She was quick to the point, they already had to guard the fire seal among others and darkness was pissed at her. She just wanted to curl up with Ignis for once, and be calm.
She bit her lip at his second question, "He's everything to me." She whispered, not liking where this was going.
Ignatius turned to Ignis, "And who is she…to you?"
He smiled before turning to Kali, "A Shadow Wraith is the equivalent to a mundane dog. Though this one was corrupted over time due to Darkness's death. Now it is nothing but a primitive animal drowned in darkness. Like a black energy that resembles a tidal wave. It normally doesn't attack on instinct. Whatever it was after, it has it's goal set to kill Ignis."
he didn't answer the question…
why didnt he answer the question?..
Is he avoiding it? Why?-
No shut up, Kali. Stop being so insecure you need to deal with the situation at hand
"and? So we kill it before it can kill Ignis, simple as that. What are it's weaknesses? Can't we just can lure it somewhere and kill it and be done with it."
Well your making a great impression on ignatius, talking about death and killing want is it four times now? I'm sure he thinks your just the sweetest thing hm?
Will you stop?!
"For the matter of killing it, you are forbidden to do so." Ignatius's face grew serious, "In fact, If I knew her at all, the wraith was sent to attack you."
"What- why?-"
She noticed how serious his face looked, and then it felt like her heart almost stopped.
"It was sent to attack me?.."
She felt like she knew why.
Darkness sent the wraith after me and Ignis got hurt instead of me ..?..
It was the one thing she could clearly think off she kept up a mostly neutral face, but she was in deep pain from it and almost started crying in the spot.
Ignis got hurt because of me…it's my fault it's my stupid fault I'm such an idiot!
“Actually, I was hoping we could sleep.” Alister ruffled his wild hair, and a yawn came out of him as if on cue. Noel stood near him, though she wasn’t clinging to him anymore. Like he actually was planning on it, he wasn't. He had to make sure nothing went down.
“Yeah, there are more rooms. C’mon,” Alister sighed. “What a day.”
His sister met his eyes, and he knew she wanted to talk. He wanted to as well. It felt like it was the only way they could process super complicated things. But his mind, numb. His limbs, dead. Could he even function at this point? He didn’t know. He just gave her a small nod, and motioned Evan to follow him up the stairs. Maybe Evan could talk with them too.
"No. It is not." Ignatius smiled, "I am a spirit, my dear. Not a mind reader. A wraith is normally not set like this. So it's not Darkness herself that made it seek blood. She merely meant to teach you a lesson. This is strange. Go. Seek help. They will not see or hear me."
"Seek help? From who? Where?"
Please don't mean darkness please don't mean darkness please don't mean darkness-
She didn't look over at Ignis, only looking at ignatius. Of course he read her like a book.
