“Um,” they both glanced at the large canine before Alister chuckled nervously. “We can follow behind.” Noel nodded in agreement.
“Um,” they both glanced at the large canine before Alister chuckled nervously. “We can follow behind.” Noel nodded in agreement.
"suit yourself, your missing out on all this comfortable fluff." she just laid back on its back as it waited for everyone to start going.
Ignis started walking away from the forest towards town. Angel flying overhead. As they walk, most of them, Ignis began to think to himself. He turned his head slightly, "Before 'the kids' start becoming your new names, what are your names?"
Kros started walking back, following after ignis with kali on his back listening to the conversation.
The two siblings followed alongside the girl’s hellhound. “I’m Alister, and this is my sister, Noel.” He pointed as he spoke. “And you?”
Ignis fell deep in thought and didn't recognize the question Alister asked. When they arrived at the building, Ignis turned, "I am Ignis. Over there is Kali and my blonde in the building is Amara."
Alister gave Kali a small wave. “Nice to meet you. So, about the fire horse you created… I can’t help but think about how similar it is to what we can do.” He ventured.
Noel whispered to him, “Are you sure we should talk about this right now? I mean, I know he made the horse and everything, but still, you always said to keep that a secret.”
He shrugged. “I’m thinking they must have the same secret.”
She shadow traveled right next to the boy poking him and then disapeared reappearing and poking the girl before disapearing and reapearing by the door. Kros got smaller and got next to Kali. "that's how distance wouldn't work, oh yeah he's a fire elemental." She poked ignis as she walked by him into the house. "when he says his blonde he means the two of them are dating. Amara's like the team mom so she might mom you a lot. Ini is….ini."
Ignis smiled and and waved his hand. A blue and purple fire began to flicker on Ignis's hand, "I am known as fire elemental. I am the last of a long line of fire elementals. You probably think i'm just crazy."
They flinched as Kali shadow traveled around them, but they watched in fascination. As they entered the building, Noel took in their surroundings while Alister replied, “I wouldn’t say crazy, just… a little eccentric. But if you’re fire…” his eyes locked on Ignis’ flickering hand. “Then we must be air.”
Ignis kept the door open to allow the pups to walk through and walks himself through, "Well I have been called worse. An air elemental? I haven't heard of Air's children since the crack of Astra's seal."
“Astra’s seal?” He wondered aloud. Noel turned to Ignis with a furrowed brow and asked, “What do you mean when you say you haven’t heard of Air’s children?“
"In the forest, there's a huge stone circle, known as Astra's seal, " Ignis walked to the cafeteria on the sixth floor, "The element of Air. their last known child dwindled into a very disturbed state of with alcohol and anger."
The siblings froze and shared a glance. “Oh.”
They were silent for a moment before Alister abruptly changed the subject. “So where’s this Amara person who’s supposedly going to make us lunch?”
"Usually, I prefer just Amara," Amara spoke softly. She was already in the cafeteria, walking from behind the kitchen door. Her hair held up and a washrag in her hands, "I am quite useful in various culinary arts. Just request and I will do my best to fulfill it."
Alister gave her a warm smile. “Thank you, ma’am. Did you have anything in mind, Noel?”
“Mac n’ cheese?” Her eyes went wide. “We haven’t had mac n’ cheese in a long time.”
“Sounds good to me.” Alister agreed.
"I wouldn't mind mac and cheese either," Kali just there leaning against the wall she has been watching them without them realizing it for a while and when Ignis mentioned what happened to last elemental and there reaction solidified her claims. Looks like they might have grown up with a drink and angry dad, which filled her up with anger about her step dad, she figured he hadn't grown out of it and was probably still a deep alcoholic even with these kids. She would hunt down that pig and make him pay for harming these little kids. She sighed, staring at the kids. "You don't have to answer this, but is your dad….harmfull to you guys?" She asked not wanting to just outright claim abuse.
Alister’s smile and head dropped, and Noel’s eyes dulled, but they pierced into Kali’s own. The mac n’ cheese was forgotten in an instant.
He muttered, “How about we don-“
But Noel walked up to Kali, her eyes hard and cold. With a jerking motion of her mouth, she spat, ”Was.”
she sighed staring down into noel's eyes or just into since shes short. "Right, I thought as much. if you wouldn't mind, what do you mean by was?" she being different, treating this carefully and making sure she didnt step on anymore feet then she already has. she understood probably better then mos here what it was like to have a horrible father. Luckily hers wasn't into alcohol but she almost wished he was rather then cold and calculating.
Noel stared her down for moments, but backed off toward Alister as she said, “He was harmful to us.”
She leaned on her brother for a few moments. He let out a sigh, then bent down and whispered, “El, I know she’s being rude and invasive, but that doesn’t mean you get to be rude back, okay? She may just be ignorant.”
She didn’t respond.
“You hungry?” He tried again.
“Yeah,” she mumbled.
“Good. Eat, and you’ll feel better.”
so basically after being wounded by alister's words she just retreated to her room, she did know better. she just wanted to know so badly she forgot how rude it was when total strangers ask you a million questions to something sensitive, she should have known better, she should have just left it alone. she walked in her room and shut the door, forgetting Kros. He sat outside the door guarding it, meanwhile kali was scolding herself harshly. why couldn't she just apologise? if even if it didn't mean anything to her maybe it meant something to them. she pulled on her hair, she was such a horrible person, she had similar issues with a dad and yet here she was being rude to some kids who happen to have been in the same situation she had. she would just leave them with amara and ignis they actually knew how to great kids and take care of them. she had never cared before… Stupid she was so Stupid. she was pathetic, i mean honestly she should have jus dropped it, she should have just waited to ask the older dude when they actually knew each other, why was she so impaitent? she punched her wall, she didnt normally vent this way, she usually put on music because the sillence of being alone with her thoughts as too much. She punched the wall again, it was almost like a beat without a melody, a silent unfinished symphony. she leaned her head against the wall, Horrible, Stupid, pathetic, Impaitent, weak,…..Alone, her brain hurled insult after insult at her and figured it was pretty solid reasoning. She banged her head against her wall, maybe if she hit it enough time the thoughts would go away. so she hit her head against the wall again, nope still not gone, again. she did i until the only thing that remained was blood on the wall and a pounding headache. she sat on the floor holding her knees close to her.
kros was very concerned, he poked his head and saw her condition and went downstairs and whined, staring down igins and then nodding upstairs once he looked at kros.
It wasn't long before Amara came out to ask Ignis for help but he wasn't there. So she let out one by one, different dishes. Hot rolls, mac and cheese, vegetables, sausage, and a fruit bowl. Every dish that came through the room filled the room with wonderous smells. The amount each dish she served was considerably bigger than the kids expected, "Alister right? Could you please help me with the plates and utensils? I would love the help. Just in the kitchen several cabinets on the left."
Ignis made his way to Kali's room. He knocked on the door and felt the tension arise. The same tension when Ignis and Amara dealt with Kali's problems for her. He knew how it felt by this point. He couldn't relate being the victim, but he knew how a victim acted towards monsters. And how monsters feel. "Kali, may I speak with you?"
"why? it wont help." Kros pushed the door open enough for him to slip in, he walked over to her and started licking her and she just pushed him away. there wasn't much too see, the room was almost pitch black. she still had her knees up to her chest and her arms on her knees. Blood smeared the wall behind her, and dents from her punches.
