”… and there it is.” Air could see the burns. ”Who knew invaders of my temple could be so entertaining?”
”… and there it is.” Air could see the burns. ”Who knew invaders of my temple could be so entertaining?”
Ignatius looks to Air, "Speaking of which, did you do something to us? I can't hand over control to him. He didn't even want me to. Unle-" He stops. He looks around the area and quickly runs back to Evan, to pick him up, "He's here. Arcanis is here."
She pales, letting out a slew of curses. "What? Why here?! Why now!" She looked around anxiously, moving to look where the two siblings had dispeared to.
they don't know
"Air! Warn your descendants! They don't know!" She would go herself, but she didn't want to leave Ignatius alone.
At these words, the silver-eyed figure dissolved into the mist, grumbling about more invaders.
~
The forest seemed to have a constant breeze running through it. The siblings could sense a motherly presence nearby, trailing or coming along side them. Noel soon spotted a thin trail of smoke that lead them downhill, deeper into the trees. They kept close to each other, holding hands. Noel soon got used to walking again without her brother’s help, though Alister could still sense the strange gases circulating within her bloodstream. He realized she was right. They had changed, but it was in ways they could not even begin to describe, not yet.
The strange feeling, the pulling sense, it grew stronger as they walked. They did not speak, nor listened, nor saw. They sensed and they moved.
There was a break in the trees. It was another clearing, a meadow that extended out into a cliff side overlooking more and more mountains, extend onwards into the horizon. In the meadow was a large stone circle, flat with strange writing on it. The siblings moved closer to see, but suddenly the entire meadow was shrouded in thick fog. The wispy, motherly presence seemed to be everywhere now. Alister and Noel immediately moved closer to each other.
Whispers rose around them. Or inside them, it was hard to tell. Danger… invader. The illusionist…
"Well, well." A familiar voice echoes throughout everyone's mind, "Looks like someone's eager to get started."
Ignatius, with Evan in his hands, runs to Kali, "Where did he intend on put him? We can't have him here, unconscious. I could try to wake him, but it won't be pleasant."
"I don't know we didn't get that far! I guess you might as well wake him, I don't have a place for him. I don't know what condition he's in."
She was trying her best not to panic but his voice sent a chill down her spine. Though it also filled her with anger she didn't want to be stupid.
The fog surrounding them churned. ”Heatstroke.” the murmurs said. ”There is a river downhill. The child will need water when he wakes.”
"Should the need arise, you and Ignis need to protect the body." Ignatius didn't seem the most enthusiastic when saying it. After hearing Air's advice, the three rush to the river. Once they reach it, Ignatius let out a regretful sigh. He places the body down and places his palm on the chest, "Gtuopyonm"
Both bodies go limp. For a second, it didn't seem like either was going to wake up. Ignis begins to cough, "Ow."
(What did that do exactly?)
(The funky word? A spell.)
(Did the spell just force him to wake up ?)
(translated, it means "dreamwalk".)
(Okay-)
(Should I just wake Evan up then?)
Evan jolted awake, his eyes wide as he looked around. His mouth felt awful ans his body felt awful. Everything felt awful and he felt like he was gonna pass out at any moment. He sees the water, ans moved to drink up the water. He didn't care about anything else in that very moment. He leaned back when he wad hydrated.
Kali moved to punch ignis in the arm but not hard enough to really hurt.
"Idiot."
"Hey! I didn't do anything! Not that I could…" Ignis jolts upright, "Everything hurts. Like I was…" He removes his shirt slowly. He slightly panics when he sees the burns on his skin, "…set on fire?"
She sighed, "Ignatius is the one that burned your body ignis. You and him having being dum in common."
Evan took a few breaths to calm down, "whats going on?'
Ignis gets up on his feet. His body in intense pain due to the burns, "Dumb? I'm not that stupid! I may be foolish at times, but I at least know what I'm doing!"
A sinister laugh echoes in their minds, "Why even bother? I don't need to lift a finger. You ought to kill each other just fine without me."
“The illusionist…” Noel murmured. “Is that who I think it is?”
“I’m willing to bet that it is.” Alister held her close. “We need to be careful.”
His sister sighed. “No kidding.”
The fog was thick, though not suffocating. The siblings could barely see a foot in front of them. Air’s presence still surrounded them, almost as if in protection. The pull the siblings sensed made them move slowly forward.
Up to a certain point, I can protect you, a single voice said inside them. But you must, in all your power, protect this place in turn.
Fresh mountain air filled their lungs, offering its strength. Soon, Alister’s foot stepped on what looked to be flat stone. They had come to the great stone circle that they had first seen at the edge of the meadow.
Arcanis smiled at the two as they reached the seal, "Poor things. You truly think you can protect it from me?"
"Do you know what your doing? Because you sure didn't think to tell me!" She was clearly frustrated at him.
Evan watched the two of them fighting and tries to get up and stop.them but his body was still adjusting to the water that had entered his system.
"Guys stop!-"
Ignis calm down a bit, enough to help Evan up, "I'm sorry. I know what I'm doing, to a point. I don't exactly have anything planned. Should I actually make a plan, please know you'll be the first…to know." Lifting Evan brought a strain to his own pain tolerance, however he couldn't help it. No one is going to die on MY watch.
She just tched at him helping Evan up, "I'm going ahead, arcanis is probably going after the siblings and the seal." She moved to quickly go where she saw them leave.
Evan nodded to ignis,
"thank you" He moved to go past kali faster bc he was extremely worried for his friends.
“Not really,” Noel answered honestly.
“El!” Alister hissed. “Not the time.”
“Well, what do you suggest?”
Alister shrugged. “I don’t know. Think of it like those problem-solving worksheets Mrs. Wright would give us? Assess the situation and our resources?”
“Too slow. I’m gonna try something. Stay back.”
Her brother backed away. Noel inhaled, then exhaled. Invisible, noxious gas was released from her nostrils and mouth. The gases filled the surrounding area, creating a toxic shield over the seal.
(Noel your doing great sweety)
