Dalton sighed a continued to follow Cicada, avoiding all the rats he found. At least he was avoiding rabies.

Tristan heard a small grumbling noise come from beneath his feet. Oh no. friends. Or wait, it could be zombies. Or a dragon. Good lord there's a dragon coming to kill me… He was almost running now, weaving through the bookshelves as he tried to find his way out of the library.
Cicada slowed down and kept her eyes wide open. A roar like that had to have come from something big.
Dalton stopped as he saw two lights in the darkness. They look like- eyes?
Cicada spotted the eyes. She made her hands glow to the same intensity. Maybe she could convince the creature they were one of the same.
The creatures head was more visible now, "Is that a dragon?" Dalton said confused. The beast made a noise that shook the ground as it stepped closer.
Cicada smiled and let out a sigh of relief, "Yeah it's a dragon. I can handle dragons."
"Yeah so can I!" He said pushing her out of the way. He made eye contact with the beast and suddenly it stopped moving and stared back. "Lay down!" Dalton said forcefully. The beast crashed to the ground submissively.
Cicada frowned slightly, "Man I wanted to be the one to take it out."
“It’s cool I didn’t want it to be burned to death.” He said sarcastically.
Cicada rolled her eyes, "I wouldn't let that happen. I have more control than you might think."
“Mmhmm,” Dalton looked at Cicada, “Now can we go?!”
Cicada groaned, "Fine you party pooper."
Dalton nodded and promptly turned on his heel toward the exit. “We should name the dragon!” He suggested on the way out.
"Yeah!" Cicada smiled, "Do you know if its the boy or the girl?"
"I'm pretty sure it's a girl," Dalton said, "It was pretty submissive."
"Then I'm partial to the name Ember," Cicada said.
"I agree, I like it." Dalton laughed, "We have a pet dragon."
Cicada laughed, "We have a pet dragon. Oh my gods."
Dalton squinted at her before climbing up the ladder into the cubby. "This cubby was much more fun!"
Cicada nodded, "Yeah. We met a dragon."
Dalton and Cicada were back in the library, "Well that was a fun and draining adventure, so I'm going back to the room for the night."
Cicada shrugged, "I still have more energy. I'll try not to wake you up when I get back."
The growling seemed to have stopped, so Tristan slowed his pace down to a walk. He placed his hand over his heart to check how fast it was beating. Okay….105 beats per minute. That's not terrible… He sighed and continued to walk out of the grand entrance to the library.
Dalton shrugged and went back to the room. He hated making friends mainly because he hated people in general, but Cicada was okay. He flopped down on his bed and unpacked his bag.
