“Compañera? It means companion in Spanish, I believe. English isn’t my first language, so you’ll have to catch me if I switch over,” Santiago said, chuckling.
“Compañera? It means companion in Spanish, I believe. English isn’t my first language, so you’ll have to catch me if I switch over,” Santiago said, chuckling.
"Spanish? That's amazing." She smiled, and leaned closer in curiosity. "I'll remember that word. . . compañera."
She frowned, and furrowed her brow in concentration as she tried to match the word to how Santiago had said it.
Santiago chuckled at her. “Yeah, Mother was from Cuba, Dad was just Caucasian. And you have to roll the ‘r’ a little bit,” he explained, grinning.
(Have to go for the night, it’s late where I am. I’ll be around tomorrow though!)
"I'll practice." She laughed. She heard more whispers coming from behind her. Rylan turned around, but all she could see were some more shadows. {Weird. . .}
( see ya soon! )
Flynn sensed how her radio started vibrating, she got tense, that meant that her back-up has arrived and now they are on their way to the building, luckily, the emergency button she used made the back-up police know that they needed to be cautios and silent, for some reason its an emergency button
Flynn sensed how her radio started vibrating, that ment that the back-up has arrived. Luckily they know they need to be silent and catious because she used the emergency button, which means its a silent mission.
The back-up must have the building surrounded, that means that there is no escape for them, as far as I know the windows are mostly still covered and the ones broken are out of their reach, exits must be guarded by the police so they have no where to go….game over
Rylan leaned back on the couch. {Don't get too close. . . he's a Republic soldier.} She reminded herself, even though she didn't want to listen. She had gotten quite 'close' to many boys in slums, and after a few days she would never see them again. A weird cold feeling creeped up her back, like she was being watched. . .
Flynn decided to get into position, she saw some other soldiers around the room's corners and Alec making hand signals to her. She caught the message, they where ready to attack
She heard a noise a sprang up, her amber eyes narrowed and alert. Rylan prepared her stance and looked around for an escape.
Flynn grabbed her taser gun and sprinted towards the room, once in the room she saw the girl looking for an escape, in the rush of adrenaline, she sot the girl in the back with the taser gun as the other soldiers started surrounding the area
Rylan turned to run, but a shock of electricity nailed her in the back. In her rush, she felt the stitches snap and blood gush over her leg. She slammed to the ground, darkness starting to spread across her vision. Rylan felt two more shocks, and looked at Santiago with a look of betrayal.
Then all she could see was black.
Flynn saw how the girl collapsed to the floor and blood started to run trough her leg all over again, a rush of pure guilt an panic started to overflow her and ran straight to the girl, she wanted to stop the flowing of blood and check if she was ok, at least, but Alec pushed her away and took the girl, putted handcuffs in her hands even tho she passed out and took her to the police truck.
She followed Alec into the truck and hopped in "Great job Flynn! It was about time!" He said extremely happy, "haha thanks" she faked a smile, but what she truly felt like was far from happy
She woke up in a white room, her head pounding. She pushed herself up, but immediatley fell down from the chains around her legs and arms. Rylan let out a yelp of pain as she fell on her swollen leg.
A sandy haired man stepped in, his green eyes piercing.
"Rylan Devera. 16. Fugitive and criminal." The man began. "Stole weapons from a Republic airship, destroyed an airbase, theft, tampering with Republic affairs, and countless other crimes."
She didn't answer, but glared at him, her amber eyes guarded and dangerous.
"You may know me. Commander Cardoso." He began, not waiting for Rylan to answer. "Or, you may know my other soldier, Santiago."
A flash of recognition danced across her face, but she quickly resumed her glare.
"Ah, so you do. After all, Santiago and Flynn had led me to you." He motioned to a blond girl behind him, dressed in the whole Republic outfit, everything neatly polished. A small smile spread at my recognition of one of his soldiers. "We have been looking for you for a long time. You've managed to stay away from us for three years, continuing your crimes. . . but now we've finally caught you."
"It's about time." She answered, giving him a fake smile.
Commander Cardoso wrinkled his nose in disdain at her comment. He approached her and lifted her chin up. "With a pretty face like that. . . you could have done so much more than become a criminal."
He stood up and motioned to the blond soldier. "Flynn, continue to interrogate her."
"It will be my pleasure Commander Cardoso" Flynn said with a monotone voice. She waited for the commander to leave to start interrogating Rylan.
"So, criminal Rylan, you made me pass a hard time ya' know" Flynn imitated a fake chuckle and tried to play it cool, but she still felt terrible for the girl
"But why though, why do you do all of this?"
(im sorry that i procrastinate so much sorry)
Meanwhile, Samiel Allona was packing a bag in her apartment in Ruby sector. She wasn't running away, but she was doing something outlawed. She was bringing food to the people in the poor sectors.
Sami was dressed in all black, her crutches were set on the counter in front of her. She hated those things. They made her a target for the Republic, as they wanted to kill anyone with imperfections. They couldn't though, because she was rich. It would cause to much suspicion.
The bag she was packing was filled with food. Bread, canned soup, jars of jam, bags of dry ingredients. She packed a second bag after. Then a third. When she was done, she had packed eight bags in all. She stuffed all those into a large duffel bag, and slung it across her shoulders. She collected her crutches and headed to the fire escape.
Sami had done this so many times before that it was almost like second nature, and she could do it almost soundlessly. The hinges and the metal were all excessively greased, so no creaking or squeaking. She slid the ladder on the side down slowly and silently, then clamored down herself. She touched down, slid the ladder back up, and went for the shadows of the night, trusting them to mask her escape.
She made her usual run, delivering the bags to the most needy families, the ones with the skeletal children that need food so badly it hurt her to watch. Sami even managed to sneak a couple of plague suppressants into the bags. After she did her rounds, she headed back ti her apartment. As soon as she was up the fire escape and rolled through the window, a call rang on her house phone.
All the while, Santiago stood in the corner of the room. His face still wore a look of surprise, as he had no idea it was her. “Commander, sir, I had no idea-..” he slowly trailed off and went silent again. His expression shifted more towards a grimace. ‘So much for my new compañera,’ he thought.
"You think you're all mighty in your little uniform." She scoffed. "You killed my family. My dad, he was a commander. And how do you repay him? By killing everyone he loved."
She glared at her and rested her back against the white wall.
Rylan glanced towards Santiago, a flash of recognition registered on her face when she saw his dark hair and olive skin. But, her expression was slowly replaced with something guarded and dangerous.
Santiago’s grimace showed clearly at that. She was a criminal, but that sounded terrible. He couldn’t imagine loosing his family.
"Anything else?" She raised an eyebrow at Flynn as she rested her back against the wall. She grimaced in pain from her now swollen leg.
