Santiago smiled in a sympathetic way. “You and me both. Once we figure out exactly where we are going to do, then we can get out of this place.” He continued stuffing things into his bag quickly. He glanced at his laptop and watched the red dots for a minute, as they were still across town.
Rylan took a deep breath in and let it out, looking between Santiago and Flynn. "Your commander is near Union square. That's two or three blocks down from us." She explained. "Moving towards the East and West would mean airbases. Our safest bet would be the outskirts of the sector."
Rylan stayed where she was, since she had nothing to pack up. She had never had many belongings, only the locket in her pocket.
Flynn suddenly remembered what she wanted to ask Santiago "Santiago can we please talk for a bit" She turned towards Rylan in a sympathetic way "In private" and then turned to Santiago again
Rylan nodded, studying Flynn for a second longer. She turned around and walked out into the hallway.
“Oh, sure,” Santiago said, glancing at Rylan. Once she was left he turned to Flynn. “What’s up?” He said, almost stumbling over his words, as English wasn’t hur first language and he sometimes forgot random words.
"I need you to be 100% honest with me ok" She said staring at Santiago dead in the eyes
“Yes, of course,” he said, meeting Flynn’s gaze.
Flynn took a deep breath "do you like Rylan?" She said slowly like as if she was teaching a new language to a stranger
Santiago skin felt hot when the topic was brought up. “I don’t know if that’s really relevant to what’s going on,” he murmured, looking down in thought.
"I know but pffth I mean, why would you flip everything for a girl you literally found in one day" Flynn said whispering screaming "I mean, you two have been really close lately and i CAN SEE you enjoy being with her" She said as if she was scolding a little toddler "Its obvious!" She said bringing her arms up and then making them fall down again
Santiago felt the heat rise and he rubbed the back of his neck. “Are you saying that I shouldn’t?” He asked slowly, his accent shaking through strongly as he wasn’t not as concerned to mask it at the moment.
"I want you to admit it" She said crossing her arms
Santiago didn’t meet Flynn’s gaze and he bit the inside of his cheek. “Maybe a little bit..”
"HA! I knew it!" She said pointing at Santiago "Well I give you my blessings" She said tapping his shoulder "Ok you are dismissed that was all I wanted to talk about"
Santiago was greatful for once that his skin was darker, knowing that if he had white skin his face would be bright red. He laughed timidly and nodded. “I’m thankful that I have your blessings.”
He went to the door and opened it up, motioning to Rylan that she could come back in.
"Well Im going to get the things on the car, I'll wait for you in there" She said about to leave, she turned to Santiago and winked at him, she then left to let the things on the car
She nodded and walked in, watching Flynn leave. Rylan turned back towards Santiago.
"So. . . what was that about?" She asked.
Santiago wondered if he should tell her what he had been asked. She did want it to be private, so he guessed that Flynn wouldn’t want him telling. Then again, he didn’t want to lie to Rylan. He felt a dilemma for a quick moment within himself, but smiled anyways. “She was asking about Alec and my time with him, being one of his top men and all.”

Rylan tilted her head to the side and studied him. After a few seconds, she smiled. "Huh, a top man. That must have been fun. . . having a psychopath commander and all."
