Bernon was trying so hard to stay quiet that his voice squeaked a bit when he spoke. "Cut its head off!? It's big enough to swallow both me and Mike at once! I don't think even your sword would be able to decapitate it!"
Mike shushed him. "We could do it if we could put out the eyes first. But it can move waaay faster than any of us. Before we have to fight it, we should try to just back away and get out of striking range. It might not be hungry or angry right now, since it isn't acting aggressive."
“Just because it isn’t acting aggressive doesn’t mean it won’t. If you back away it might attack as well, it’s checkmate really.” She said. The snake hissed a little boning it’s head up and down as if agreeing with everything she was saying.
Mike's voice acquired an edge due to tension. "Oh, so you want it to attack? Staying here will definitely make it mad. Since when were you an animal expert–"
"Guys," Bernon interrupted, "This is not the time. Anyway, we can't just back away for two reasons. One, the cliff's right there and we might fall. Two, I thought I saw somebody in the trees on our left. I think we might be surrounded."
(lol Mike has no Polite or People Skill sorry about him XD)
“Great, giant snake and bandits. Well, we’re gonna have to fight our way out now.” She hissed, trying to get a better look of their surroundings without making sudden movements.
(Ahahaha, don’t worry ‘bout it)
At that point, the snake spoke. Its voice was odd and resonant. "I can hear yous. Why you fret so? I no hurt yous…….honest."
Tanrial let out a cross between a cough and a laugh, “A talking snake. In all my years… how can we know we can trust you?”
The snake poked out its tongue slightly and kept it there. "It iz not I who wants to do you a bad. I only wants to eat you. My hooman friends tho, they want to take all ur shiny stuff and give you the bigly spook. I no meanie like dat. I only want eat. Will be painless." It tried to give you an endearing stare and tilted its head coquettishly.
“Aha, yeah, about that. You wouldn’t want to eat us, we’re not nice. I’m really old I probably taste terrible, so do my friends.” She laughed a little.
(Sorry gtg, seeya later!)
(Okay later ^^)
"Oh, I don't knows. Don't be so hard on you selves. Most of the bad taste be from ur yucky clothes and thingz. Maybe yous could get rid of the yuck and that would solve everything!"
"Sorry I kinda need my clothes but I can't allow you to eat us, or your friends to steal our stuff, for that matter."
"Awww." The snake drooped sadly. "Okay."
It almost was that easy, but then there was a growling voice from behind them. "This is taking too long." A thwip sound came next, and an arrow suddenly blossomed from the snake's neck. Instantly it reared up with a loud hiss and bared its fangs, losing every trace of its friendly demeanor.
"Uh oh," Bernon said.
"Why can't anything be simple anymore?" Tanrial groaned and drew her sword.
"Just don't get penned in," Mike said, his voice rising as their attackers sprung from the trees. "Bernon, bear, now! We can't linger. Just break through and head east!"
"Alright!" Bernon changed form with a roar, keeping his head down to shield it from the arrows that now filled the air. Tanrial, look out for the snake!
"Where'd it even go?!" She said, but two of the attackers were already charging at her. Running straight at them, she kicked them to the ground with a giant thump before making sure they were thoroughly knocked out.
It shrank or something, I think, Bernon replied, throwing one bandit right over the cliff. Watch your back!
The snake's voice came again, angry and uncomfortably close. "Was it you that stuck ur little stinger in me, hooman girl? I will stick my chompers in you and you will be much the badly hurt!"
“It wasn’t me and I’m not human!” She whirled round to face the snake throwing her hand out and a gust of tight air tightened round it’s throat, “I’ll let go, but you can’t kill me, or my friends, you fight our attackers, got it?” She panted.
"I will fight all of yous," the snake spat, its eyes yellow slits of rage. "I will kill you all and eat your fleshes."
She tightened her grip, “No, you fight out attackers or I kill you.”
The snake choked slightly. "I will eats them first," it conceded, "Then come and find yous tomorrow."
“Fine, we’ll be long gone tomorrow anyway.” She let go.
Quick as a lash, the snake bodily leapt at the bandits, growing in midair and landing on three of them together. Mike saw his chance and darted off through the trees. "Come on!"
(btw I have to go now, sorry :( seeya later!)
Tanrial ran after Mike, “Thanks…snake!” She called behind her.
(Seeya later!)
(slept in, sorry)
Bernon caught up with them a few seconds later, back in human form. "You guys okay?" he panted.
