"Okay." Shiv trotted over to the man and crouched down to take a look. "He got stabbed real bad in his gut. I can see ribs here. Eww….. the blood's, like, coming out in spurts."
"Okay." Shiv trotted over to the man and crouched down to take a look. "He got stabbed real bad in his gut. I can see ribs here. Eww….. the blood's, like, coming out in spurts."
Tanrial crouched down next to the man and grimaced a little, “Alright, I’m just gonna go straight in with magic.”
Shiv straightened and glanced around uncertainly. "Kay….um, what should I do while you're doin' that? I don't think I could help anybody else while I wait….." She spotted the man with the broken nose and brightened. "…except maybe that guy."
Tanrial looked over and chuckled lightly at how she brightened, "Sounds good. Just make sure his nose is straight when you're done."
Shiv nodded and walked over to the man, wash rag and bandages at the ready. "Lemme know if you need help with anythin'."
"Will do." Tanrial called over her shoulder before turning back to the man in front of her, "Right, now don't freak out otherwise you'll hurt yourself more." She said before immediately going in with her magic.
Luckily, the man barely seemed to hear her and didn't even twitch when the magic touched him. The gash was very deep and bleeding fast, but luckily all that blood seemed to have washed the wound clean. The man had a few other cuts and bruises, but no more serious injuries.
Tanrial knew the smaller wounds were no big deal and didn't worry about them, just focused on not letting this mans insides fall out. The healing process took longer then the others due to the size of the wound but it was fixed up soon enough.
Almost immediately, Shiv called out to her. "Tanrial! Can you c'mere for a minute? This stupid jerk won't let me fix his nose!"
The man peeked around her. "I don't want to get service from some low-ranking nobody," he whined. "I want the magic lady to heal me!"
Tanrial groaned in annoyance and turned her head towards the two of them, "Either let Shiv help you or I'll make your nose like the for the rest of your life. She's only going to do what I would."
Shiv whirled on the man triumphantly. "See? I told ya, your dumb nose doesn't need any magic! And I'm not a nobody anymore! I'm the medics assistant, and Boar-back said it was okay!"
The man grumbled. "Whatever."
Shiv huffed. "Keep takin' care of the others, Tanrial, I've got this guy."
Tanrial nodded a little, "Will do!" She turned her head back to the guy she had just finished with, "Don't do too much physical activity for a while, you'll strain and hurt yourself again."
(oh hey just to let ya know, my laptop's kinda dying slowly right now so if I randomly disappear for a couple days, don't worry, I just need to buy a new one TvT)
He nodded, staring with dazed wonder at his healed torso. "Aright….." Suddenly he gave a start. "Axer! Where is he? I saw him get hurt bad–" He glanced around wildly until his eyes rested on the other unconscious bandit. "There! They hit him in the head really hard–you gotta save him! Please, he's my friend!"
(All good, I'm on holidays again so I should be more active from now on!)
"Alright, I need you to calm down for me, he'll be okay, I promise." Tanrial reassured before she stood and headed over to the bandit he was talking about.
(That's great! I've been missing you, fam ^^)
"Let me show you where he's hurt," the man said immediately, following Tanrial over to his friend. The man–Axer–seemed uninjured from this angle, but then the first bandit carefully rolled over and the huge wound in the side of his head was revealed. It looked like someone had thrown a house at his head, and through the sluggishly dripping blood it was clear that his skull was cracked in multiple places. Miraculously, he was still breathing, but very faintly, and it seemed likely that he'd fallen into a coma.
His companion crouched a few feet away, clutching the hem of his shirt. "Can you fix him?" he asked with a slight wobble to his voice.
(Me: says I’ll be in more often, also me: disappears for like two days. I miss you too!)
Tanrial scanned the injury, worried she might not have enough magic after she’d finished with him to help anyone else. But she guessed that was going to happen eventually, “Yeah… yeah I can.”
(no worries! I'm always glad to hear from you XD How are you these days?)
Shiv had finished with the other bandit's broken nose by then, and now she joined the group with a furrowed brow. "Anythin' I can do to help?"
(Meh, stressed but mainly okay. Yourself?)
Tanrial looked from the bandit in front of her to Shiv then back to the bandit, "Are there any other bandits that won't need magic to heal them, Shiv?"
(I'm all right, kinda going through some art block which makes me feel really bored and demotivated, but otherwise everything's good)
"Um…." Shiv glanced around quickly. "That guy over there has….uhh….no hand….but I think I could clean it and put bandages on it….I'm not sure what's wrong with the other guy but I can check."
(Oof, that sucks. I've started drawing at least once a day and it's helped me start drawing again, they're not great but still)
Tanrial nodded, already starting to magic the bandit in front of her, "That would be amazing, and a real help. I don't know if I'll have enough magic left to use it on the others… and I can't regrow hands…"
(Good for you! I always find drawing to be kind of therapeutic, even if I'm not drawing anything really fancy or challenging ^^)
"Okay." Shiv scurried off to see what she could do.
The bandit with the smashed skull was by far the one with the most threatening injury–even if by some fluke it didn't kill him, brain damage was unavoidable and he would've never been the same person again. The more the magic repaired, the more it found underneath that needed repairing. It was beginning to seem almost unbelievable that this man had survived the blow at all.
(True, same here, I hope you get over your art block soon :) )
It was by some sheer miracle that he had, and he was just lucky they got back to the camp when they did otherwise he would have been dead. But the magic did its job, even if it took longer then what was first expected, it fixed up the wound, leaving a jarring scar on the back of the mans head. A small price to pay if it meant he would survive.
(ty, I hope so too XD)
After a moment, the man stirred and his eyes drifted open. "Wha….what happened?"
Tanrial sat back on her hands, wiping sweat form her brow, "You got hit pretty bad by… something, I don't know what. You're all healed… mostly. What can you remember, exactly?"
He frowned distantly. "I remember…..we were doing a raid, and this guy from the other side had a huuuuge sword. Looked like it was made out of….an airplane wing." He winced. I was gonna get him, cuz I know Boar-back hates that guy, and I'd get promoted if I could take him down. But….I got distracted because…." All at once his tone sharpened. "Yeller. My friend. I saw him get stabbed real bad. Is he here? Is he okay?" He tried unsuccessfully to sit up.
In an instant his friend was at his side. "It's okay, Axer, she healed me right up. She healed you too. You idiot, don't go running towards people with giant swords." He was grinning uncontrollably, and glanced at Tanrial with a look that radiated gratitude. "If it weren't for our new medic, you'd be dead for sure."
