Tanrial waved a hand idly, "Ah, it was nothing, really, don't sweat it. It was the least I could do."
Tanrial waved a hand idly, "Ah, it was nothing, really, don't sweat it. It was the least I could do."
"If you ever need anything," Yeller said earnestly, "Anything at all, you just tell us. Well do whatever it takes to repay you." Axer nodded weakly in agreement.
Tanrial chewed on her bottom lip and nodded, "Thank-you, let's very kind." She offered a small, tired smile.
At that moment, Shiv waved to get Tanrial's attention. "Tanrial? I'm still not sure what's wrong with this guy, can you come look at him? I can't find any injuries but he's acting weird…."
Tanrial nodded and stood, slowly so she good gain her balance, "Well, take care you two, try not to hurt yourselves again, please."
"We'll try," Yeller called after her happily, helping his companion to his feet.
Shiv was standing next to their final patient, her hands on her hips. "Here, look at him. He won't tell me whats wrong. He's just sitting there."
The young man in question barely seemed to notice them. He was sitting with his back against a tree, hugging his knees and staring blankly straight ahead. He definitely didn't look happy and healthy, but the only real wounds he had were some shallow scrapes and cuts–certainly nothing painful enough to cause him to react this strongly.
Tanrial crouched down in front of him, tilting her head to the side, "Whatever it is, it's not from the cuts or scraped he received…" She mumbled, "I'm guessing it's either some from of poison… or there's some form of magic involved."
Shiv's eyes widened. "Oh….I guess you might be right. Maybe the other side has a magic-user too…."
Just then there came the sound of footsteps nearby. Boar-back came into view, his axe freshly cleaned and polished. "I see you've managed to heal everyone," he said briskly, surveying the clearing. Then his eyes fell on the young man by the tree. "What's the trouble with that one?"
Tanrial sat down, crossing her legs beneath her, "I'm actually not sure. See, this can't be a state from the small cuts, it's highly unlikely. It's either poison, or some form of strange magic that's done this to him…"
Boar-back crouched down nearby, making Shiv edge away nervously. He studied the younger bandit for a moment with narrowed eyes, then shrugged. "Just looks like the Shakes to me. That kid hasn't been on a real raid before. Probably he saw somebody's head get chopped off and couldn't handle it. Happens all the time until you've been through a few battles."
Tanrial shook his head, "That can't be it," She replied, looking from the kid, to Boar-back, to the kid, "Something feels off. I can't place it, but it does. Like… when you feel like something watching you from the shadows but you can't see them."
Boar-back nodded like he understood perfectly. "Well….I guess you're the medic here. What are you going to do about it?"
She shrugged a shoulder, "I have no magic in me right now to really look into his mind and see. I'll need to rest up before that but when I can I will," she sighed, "Can you have someone watch him? Just for the night?"
Boar-back stood up. "I can. Blue Tommy's tired of keeping an eye on you anyway." He started to walk off. "If you're all done with this job, you can go back to the medical shed. I don't trust your new assistant to guard you very closely."
Tanrial snorted, "Aight, I figured you wouldn't. Get someone to wake me if there's any changes in his state… I'm taking a nap."
The bandit chief gave her a wave in response and left to talk to Blue Tommy. Shiv stared after him, rubbing her arm restlessly. "You're so brave, Tanrial. How can you boss him around like that?"
(I gtg for a minute)
(Mkay, I may or may be asleep then but I doubt it)
She just shrugged in response, "I'm not scared of him, that's how. There's nothing brave about standing up to something or someone you don't fear."
Shiv still looked a little doubtful, but stood up and started walking back to the medical shed. "I guess so…..but I don't think it would work if I tried to talk back to him like that. You're really special, so he has to be nice to you…..but I'm not special at all."
“Woah hey,” Tanrial placed a hand on her shoulder, “You are special. You’ve helped me so much today and you’ve learnt fast. Only someone special could be able to do that. You might not have magic but it’s a different kind of special.”
Shiv gave Tanrial a look that perfectly communicated how few people had ever been this nice to her. She couldn't seem to think of a response for a moment, and eventually, she looked away, roughly swiping her hand across her eyes. "After you sleep," she mumbled, "do you wanna go see your friend? I can help you sneak over to him."
(wakes up laptop for maybe the last time Okay, well, I'm ordering a new computer now because this one is finally done. I may not be online for a while, depending on when the new one arrives and I can get it set up. I'll see you when I see you! TvT)
(Okie dokie waves goodbye see you soon comrade!)
Tanrial grinned at Shiv, “You could?! Show that would be great, thank you so much.”
(my sister's letting me borrow her computer, I'm not sure how long and I'm not sure if you're on, but heyyyy I really wanted to get back into this TvT)
Shiv nodded bravely. "It's nuthin'. I owe you one anyway. You go ahead n' get some sleep, I'll start talking to some folks."
(Ya gurl can't sleep so yes, I'm here, welcome back)
Tanrial nodded back, quickly pulling the bandit into a half hug, "Okay, thanks again."
(yayyyy! I mean not to celebrate that you can't sleep of course, but I am glad to hear from you XD)
Shiv stiffened in surprise at the hug, then shook herself and looked away in embarrassment. ""S'nuthin'." Turning, she trotted off into the gathering darkness.
