Eli shifted in his seat a tad as the bus lurched and Oze fell. He quickly moved and helped her up. “Are you okay?” He asked, holding back a small laugh, as he laughed at almost anything.
(wait, did the bus stop? Or was it just a bump in the road?)
(I guess so?)
"I'm fine,"Oze half laughed-half grumbled grabbing Eli's hand to pull herself up.
"STATION TWELVE, IMAGINARIUM DRACON! ALL IRON, BRONZE, SILVER, AND GOLD YEAR STUDENTS PLEASE EXIT THE BUS CALMLY AND FOLLOW PROFESSOR CRUMPLECORN TO THE ACADEMY!" The bus driver shouted from his seat in the front, opening the bus doors as the students hurriedly bustled out of the bus. It was dark now, and Oze couldn't see anything outside, other than two bright lights in the distance warbled by the rain out the window.
-The bus's sudden stop throws Ariene forwards a tiny bit, making her hit her head on the seat in front of her.-
-Trying her best to ignore her aching head, Ariene grabs her bags and stands up, ready to exit the bus as the driver instructed-
Eli nodded and got up, leaving Oze to get his duffel bag from where he had been sitting before. He threw the bag over his shoulder and peered out the bus window, frowning at the rain, knowing it was only make his hair more unruly that it already was.
Rubbing her arm to try and ease the pain, Oze stood up and grabbed her bag and waited for Eli to do the same.
-Ariene quickly exited the bus and ran around in the rain. She absolutely loved the rain, and she didn't get many chances to experience it, having lived in the desert most of her life.-
Oze followed Eli out of the bus and into the on pour of sleeting rain, she pulled her hood up and tried to get a good look around. Standing about ten feet from the bus, was an old man, back bent slightly, with a scruffy white beard and glowing golden eyes. He wore robes of leather, and tapped his wooden cane lightly against his foot.
Eli grimaced at the rain and lowered his head, occasionally blinking water from his eyes. He looked to the girl running around in the rain and wondered how someone could enjoy the rain so much. His attention then turned to the elderly man, and he turned his head to Oze, his hair now falling in wet strands across his forehead. “Who is that?” He asked curiously.
"Well, judging by our insane donut of a bus driver," said Oze as she tried to see through the rain,"That is probably Professor Crumplecorn."
The old man stood properly, both hands clasped around his cane, and put an aged hand into the hair, gesturing for silence.
-Ariene walked back to the group, keeping her hood down, still wanting to enjoy the rain while having to be silent.-
Eli snickered for a moment at the joke before going silent, watching the elderly man and wishing that they could get out of this rain. He could already feel his clothes getting soaked, and knew that he would need to change clothes.
"Welcome Trainees, new and old to the Imaginarium Dracon. For those that are new here, my name is Professor Crumplecorn. I will be teaching classes in riding your dragon, but that will not come until much, hopefully much later." There were a few stiffed laughs from some of the older students in the group. "I am aware that many kids would not like to call me Crumplecorn at all times, so I will just save you the time and you can call me Professor C. Now, if you will please follow me to those twinkling lights in the distance, I will lead you all to your permanent dormitories." The professor then turned on his heal and began to make his way to the looming shadow in the distance.
Eli adjusted his grip on his duffel bag and began to walk with Oze. “He seems nice,” Eli commented, turning his head to look over at her.
"Yeah, but I have to wonder why we have to walk ten miles all the way to the academy in the rain instead of being dropped off at the entrance." she said, adjusting her backpack and walking slightly faster to keep up with Eli.
He slowed his pace so she could keep up, as his strides were long. His eyes widened slightly upon hearing the distance. “Hold on, ten miles?” He asked, his mouth agape. He was used to walking far, but he would be completely soaked by the time they got there.
-Ariene smiled, unlike everyone else, she was ecstatic to get to walk in the rain. The only annoying part for her was the actual walking part, which was probably going to be very tiring-
-She started to hear people talking about the distance being ten miles, and Already starts to feel how exhausted she was going to be by the time she gets there.-
"Yup," said Oze, shrugging. She was perfectly fine with the rain, but after ten miles of walking she was sure her clothes were going to be soaked. She feared for her iPod. "How in the hingedy dingedy is that old man Crumplecorn going to make it ten miles? I'm not even sure I'm going to make it ten miles."
Eli laughed at her word choice, but it was interrupted by coughing from water getting into his mouth and down his throat. “What, you can’t handle ten miles?” He joked and looked around at the others in the group.
"First of all please don't die, and second of all, DOES IT LOOK LIKE I CAN MAKE IT TEN MILES TO YOU?" Oze was seriously doubting herself right now. Normal school had been relatively easier for her besides PE, in which no matter how hard she tried, her mile time was never under ten minutes.
Eli laughed again, but kept his head tipped down to keep the previous choking event from happening again. “Oh I don’t know! I didn’t just stare at you and think about how fit you were,” He said, grinning widely.
"You know," Oze said smiling, "I really hope we get the same dorm." Just then a thunderous clap filled the air, this time not to be mistaken for thunder. This noise rattled the air itself, and all the students felt the ground tremble beneath them. Oze grabbed Eli's arm out of fear and concern, hoping to stabilize her and Eli. Something moved in the clouds above them, and a second great roar filled the air. Everyone seemed panicked, deciding between running for their lives or holding their ground. All except Professor Crumplcorn. Instead, the professor actually smiled and turned his head to the clouds. Gracefully, a huge creature, black with veins of purple shot through its metal scales glided down and landed next to Crumplecorn. Oze recognized it immediately as one of the dragons she had been pondering to train. Only this one was bigger. Much bigger.
