Charlie gazes at her with soft eyes. She didn't want to push the other more then she already had. She leans into the couch and runs a hand through her hair. What Charlie had endured was practically nothing compared to Rivers.

Riverpaw exhaled shakily and wiped her eyes before she made her way back to the couch. She brought her hand up and placed it over where the little red crystal was hidden under her dress. She took out her phone and checked the time. "It's…late…I-I'm sorry for keeping you here so long. You know you can go whenever you want to, right?" She spoke quietly and without looking at Charlie.
(howdy)
Oof hi. I'm so sorry! //
(Es fine, how are ya?)
(Tired lol. And sick.)
Charlie was sitting in content as she relaxed on the couch. She glanced up when the other spoke and sighed quietly. She didn't really want to leave, but she had already overstayed her visit. "I suppose. Thank you for your time." She offers a kind smile before standing and sighing. "I'll see you on Monday, right?" She asks curiously
(Aw, sick sucks. Hope you feel better soon :3)
"I-I…hope so." Riverpaw couldn't help but smile back this time. She stood with Charlie so she could clear the path of animals if needed. "Um, thank you for h-hanging out for a while. A-aside from the…sad at the end…this was nice."
Charlie smiled kindly. "I should be thank you, myshka. Please take care of yourself." She bows politely before exiting the house and waving to her before entering the car. She sat for a moment, just enjoying the silence before driving off.
Riverpaw watched as Charlie drove away, hoping that they really would get to see each other again. She sighed and said goodnight to all of the animals before locking the house up and walking over to her own. There were times when she'd sleep in the Animal House, but not tonight. Her sister must have heard Charlie's car because the front door opened as soon as Riverpaw started up the path to it. "River, who was that? Are you okay? How did you get home?" Sky started asking, but her little sister simply hugged her and grinned.
"Hi." She said. Sky sighed. "Hi."
When they let go and Sky closed the door, she made tea for the two of them, and Riverpaw told her all about her night.
Charlie sighed as she drove home. She looked around and pulled into her driveway. She sighed at the sight of the empty house before entering slowly. She set her things down and up to her room. She quickly changed before walking to room next to the living room where her gear was set up. "Might as well…" She mutters. She adjusts herself before sighing quietly. She allowed herself to stretch and begin her exercise. She always got tired after a hard workout.
(Time skip?)
(Sure, to when?)
(Morning, already at school?)
(Sure)
Riverpaw hummed quietly to herself as she headed to her locker. She hadn't seen Charlie yet, and part of her wasn't sure she would since different grades meant they'd be in different halls, but she hoped they'd run into each other before the day was over. She looked around cautiously once she reached her locker and put in the code to open it. Still need a new science book… She thought in annoyance, putting away the one she had now, which had a few pages badly torn during one of her quarrels with a certain bully.
Charlie was dressed in darker clothes then normal, since she was in somewhat of a darker mood. Her hair was brushed back, newly died into a deep blue. Black eyeshadow framing her eyes, black eyeliner sharp enough to cut someone with a single glance. She wore a beanie, with the initials MCR on it. She wore a leather jacket studded and unzipped to reveal a P!ATD t-shirt and ripped black jeans with combat boots. She had an expression of annoyance in her eyes as she hauled her books. She was in a bitter mood for a reason. Her father had blown her off again. That's the third time that week and Monday morning had barely even started. She scared a freshman and sighed. Alone. As usual.
As she was getting her things for the day organized, Riverpaw's ears perked at the sound of a group of footsteps coming down the hall. She couldn't see who it was since the locker door was blocking them, but she could tell by the scent and the way her fur stood on end. Not now. Please, not now She turned away and closed the locker, pulling up the hood of her favorite green jacket and hurrying in the opposite direction. "There you are."
She jolted, then took off down the hall and around the corner. All she needed was a place to hide and wait until it was time to get to class. She whined inwardly at the sound of the group following. Ducking into an indent on a wall, where two water fountains were, she pressed herself into the corner and listened as her chasers went right on by. She waited a moment, then left the hiding spot to go back the way she came.
She noticed a moment too late a horribly familiar scent suddenly way too close to her; she froze as a hand grabbed her shoulder roughly.
"Heya, runt." Dax growled, and she could hear the smirk in his voice. "What, do you keep forgetting I can track you?" She was moved to the wall and turned around, piercing yellow eyes coming into her view. Dax's auburn wolf ears flicked in amusement. "So, how was your Homecoming?"
Riverpaw whined and struggled to move his hand, but he only tightened it.
Anna stepped closer and tilted her head a little, her hot pink hair giving off little flames. "We saw you hanging out with that freak. What was that about, huh?" She sneered. "F-freak?" Riverpaw squeaked. They aren't…talking about Charlie, are they?
Charlie sighed before shaking her head and placing her books in her locker, slamming it shut. There goes a sophomore. She was rather irritated at the moment and needed a punching bag. But being 6'3 and ripped with muscle made her a very terrifying adversary so most people steered clear.
She passed by a group harassing a girl until she realized who the girl was. It was Riverpaw, the girl she had talked with the night of homecoming. She had to admit, she really liked the girl. But to see her getting bullied was a no no. "Hey, Dax. Old buddy old pal." There was no kindness in her eyes, and there appeared to be an intense amount of fury in her eyes. "Why don't you let little miss wolf here go, and maybe I won't carve in you and your buddies noses. Damn I've been aching to punch something." She smirks as she grabbed Dax's wrist. She clenched hard, smirking as she listens to the bones in his wrist start to crack in protest. "Wouldn't want a scene now would we?" She gives a wolfish grin. "As for you, Anna. I'd be careful about what you say about the freak. She might hear you." She glowers down and the shorter woman.
Dax yipped in pain, trying to free his arm as the other three of his group moved back. "Fuckin- help me!" He called to them, but they stayed where they were. Riverpaw, dazed though she was, was surprised to see that even Anthony, Dax's best friend since elementary school, wouldn't assist him. The black-haired boy shrugged apologetically.
A nervous smile appeared on Anna's face, and she scrunched up her shoulders. "U-uh…I mean, I-I wasn't, um- I'm really sorry." She stammered. Dax growled, still struggling. "Let- let go of me!"
"How's the freak now, whimp?" She growls before letting his arm go, hissing at them. Her eyes shot towards Anna and she sneered. "I thought so. Now. Why don't all of you run off with your tail between your legs. Go on, leave." She growls, her gaze intense. She stood over Riverpaw protectively, her stance annoyed and angry. As much as she wanted to punch someone, she would leave it for now.
Dax backed away toward his friends, Anna moving behind him to hide from the tall girl. He glanced at Riverpaw still leaning against the wall. "So now you've got a bodyguard, runt? What happened to Little Red?" He teased, and she looked away, tucking her head further into her hood. Dante, a blue-haired boy, grabbed Dax's arm and led the group away before they could get themselves into any more trouble with Charlie.
Riverpaw rubbed her shoulder and whimpered quietly.
Charlie growled lowly. "Fucking say that again." She warns, taking a step closer towards Dax, cracking her fist loudly. "Scram." She warned. She watches them leave before turning her attention to Riverpaw. "You okay?" She asks gently, her eyes soft. "They didn't hurt you too much?" She inspects the other, she didn't want the other to be to hurt.
Riverpaw looked up and tried to calm her breathing. She had not expected to be rescued, not by Charlie at least. "I- I'm fine…" She said quietly. She pulled the drawstrings of her hood and looked at the floor. "Y-you didn't have to do that; I've…them messing with me is…i-it's nothing new."
Charlie smiles at the other before shaking her head. "It's really not an issue." She mutters softly. He offers a kind and gentle smile. "It's not cool for them to pick on others." She sighs, "I just want to punch something to be completely honest, but they're cowards. Don't let them get to you." She says softly.
She shrugged halfheartedly. Dax had been picking on her since she was in first grade, and she was near the point where she didn't really care. It's not like she could do anything; the last and only time she fought back had only made things worse. Shaking her head, she pulled the hood back a little, then leaned forward, reach up, and wrapped her arms around Charlie's shoulders. "Thank you."
