Phoebe squeezed her eyes shut as volts of pain ricocheted through her body. “I explained to Marco— earlier.” She gasped. “I—-“ Swallowing, she explain the situation.

(The situation is the thing Phoebe told Marco in that alleyway with the damaged organ hurting at random tones and why)

Phoebe’s breaths came in short spurts as the pain racked her midsection. “Remember last year, when I missed the whole first month of school? Well— I was in the hospital.” She gulped. “And girls aren’t really supposed to give birth at age fifteen. There were—- complications.” She blinked back tears.

Phoebe squeezed her eyes shut. “I—It’s fine,I—“ she swallowed. “The side of my uterus is basically torn, I’d die from internal bleeding if it wasn’t patched up. with a piece of metal. They didn’t do it right though, and I think there’s something else wrong with it that they didn’t catch, and we don’t have the money to get it fixed up, so I live with the pain. He— the baby came out too late, he— he didn’t survive.” Another tear rolled down her face, but she brushed it away. “I’m fine, we have bigger problems.”
