Zackary shrugged. “I don’t mind sleeping on the floor. My wings are quite comfortable to sleep on. I don’t want to take away from your or Qhuinn’s room.”
Zackary shrugged. “I don’t mind sleeping on the floor. My wings are quite comfortable to sleep on. I don’t want to take away from your or Qhuinn’s room.”
"First, Qhuinn is a baby, he's not even big enough to take up a considerably amount of that room. Second, he slept with me anyway. And third, you can protect us better this way, since the rooms are joined." She smirked with satisfaction, took her plate out of the microwave, and sat back down. She blew on a forkful of potatoes.
Zackary huffed. “I suppose. Still. I don’t need all of this. I can just sleep on the couch or in here. I don’t care.”
Her icy blue eyes cut over to Zackary, fiery stubborn determination burning within them. "Well I do. Now, I don't want to discuss this any further, the arrangements have already been made." She said firmly, leaving no room for debates. She turned her attention back to her foos.
Zackary chuckled lowly again. He had to appreciate the human determination. Pure, and burning in her soul.
“Alright, then, Julie. I’ll take some of your room for my own good.”
"You'd better…" She muttered stabbing a peice of ham. Looking down at her food, her face was hidden, but her smile was evident. Qhuinn began to clap as if he understood what just happened.
Zackary stood, and set the plate into the sink. He gazed at his rugged face in the reflection of the sink. He didn’t belong here, that was evident, but Julie seemed to be determined to accept him into her home.
"Don't worry about that." Juilet piped up from the table, her gaze on him. "Um, I'll clean all of those later."
Zackary glanced over. “Oh, no, I can do it.” He smiled and grabbed a sponge.
She put another bite of food in her mouth and shrugged. She wouldn't deny him the right to do dishes. She took out her phone and began to check her notifications.
Zackary towel-dried the dishes and put them away slowly. He turned back to the table and sat, setting his hands around each other again, showing off his knarled skin.
Juliet glance over and did a double take at his skin. She reached over and ran a gentle finger over the gnarled flesh. "And these…?"
The skin was bumpy and rough, but not unpleasant to touch. He glanced down at his hands.
“They’ve always been like that.” He spread his fingers to show off the little nicks and bumps on the backs of his hands.
"Do you know why?" She took his hand into her, inspecting it. How had she not notice this before? When he was cupping that blood, when he was holding Qhuinn, how had she not seen this?
Zackary shrugged. “I am rather old. My hands suggest how much I’ve been working for the Humans. I can point out a few nicks and burns with their causes, but I don’t remember them all.”
Julie shook her head. "I'm sorry…" She let his hands go. "I'm sorry for everything you've been through… I promise this won't be anything like those…."
Zackary pulled his hands back. They were still warm and tingling from her smooth warm ones.
“I know. I know you won’t do anything to me.”
"At least not intentionally." She added. "I'm not going to rule out the fact that my clumsiness may get you hurt one day…" She shrugged sheepishly. She may be an upstanding woman, but sometimes, her legs just gave out on her.
Zackary smiled and waved a hand. “Little Human things never hurt me. Do not worry of little blunders.” He set his hands back together.
"Their not always little blunders though." she laughed. She took her plate, which was now empty, and began to wash it in the sink.
(*they’re)
Zackary shrugged, still smiling. “All I am trying to say is not for you to worry. I’d survive a knife through the chest with ease.”
((Thanks XD))
She looked at him, and then his chest. She shivered. "Okay…good to know…" She gave him a half-hearted smile. Julie did not need to have that image in her mind, but it was information she would store for later.
Zackary smiled. “I’ve also survived an attempted hanging. It was very fun, hanging there, but it was a pain for my throat the next day.”
"Okay." Marrin said, following him and slinging an arm around Cam. "Okay, watch this and learn. I may not have known I was a demon for long, but I do know some shit." She whispered into Cam's ear.
Erik led them to the mental hospital, checking in again and showing them to Ryan’s room. “Just another heads up, he doesn’t like many people and isn’t in the best place right now,” And then he opened the door slowly, bringing up a bright smile, “Hey Ryan!”
The room was plain, white walls and white furniture, with the bed in the center. Ryan sat on it, running a hand through his black hair with a pencil in between his teeth. Erik’s brother spat it out as soon as he saw his brother, frowning slightly as Erik walked in.
Marrin and Cam walked in, both made their way near the boy. "Hi, I'm Marrin and this is my sibling, Cameron. It's nice to meet you." Marrin said softly as Cam stared in awe, Marrin was almost never not strict. Cam furrowed her eyebrows, the only time Marrin was nice was with mentally unstable people. Cam would know, she was one.
