It snarled, and the rest of Its pack echoed the noise. "Do not lie to me, pup. I can smell your fear. I can smell how weak you are. Do not assume that we are simple minded beings. We are older than you will ever be. Now, why are you here?"
Gelion appeared in front of Kye suddenly. "We're here to stop chaos from destroying the planet, and killing everything on it. So unless you want to die as well, you'll leave us alone to finish what we came to do."
It snarled harshly at the demon. "This conversation is between the pup and I. You have no part in this. The pup must answer."
Kye moved to stand next to Gelion. "Then you'll get the same answer," he snapped. "I don't think you're really paying attention to the gravity of the situation here. Chaos is going to destroy this planet and everything on it. He doesn't care about the people, he doesn't care about his minions. And he doesn't care about you. I'm trying to stop him from destroying the planet because, even though I'm not from this planet I care about the people living on it. I don't care if you don't care about the people here, I do. Which means that there is nothing you can do to stop me." Gelion looked at Kye, slightly surprised at the sudden change in demeanor. Kye didn't seem afraid of anything at the moment.
It bowed Its massive head. "Very well. I sense the truth in your words. That is all I wanted to hear." It looked back at Them and seemed to speak to them, and then turned back to Kye. "We will help you. We, too, have sensed the threat. But we are not strong enough without a champion."
Gelion disappeared after a few more moments of looking at Kye in surprise. Kye tipped his head slightly. "Wait… so now you're going to help me? You attacked me and Hunter earlier, what was that about?"
It ducked Its head in acknowledgement. "Is that what she goes by now? We were trying to save the pup. She is too young. We were trying to stop her from going with you. We sensed the strange demon with you, and weren't sure where his allegiance was."
Gelion appeared again. "I resent that."
"Shut up," Kye told him. "I apologize, this is Gelion. He's a good friend and has been with me for almost my whole life. I would trust him with pretty much anything."
The leader bowed Its head again. "Very well."
"Come on we need to find them now and stop jerkweed from destroying everything," Kye turned to leave.
It Walked over to him. "We know where the pup is. Shall we take you to her?"
Kye looked at It and nodded. "That would be faster, yes please."
It gave a strange bark-like noise and a large Them stepped forward. "This will carry you."*
Kye eyed it for a moment, then he climbed onto it carefully.
With a howl, They sprang forward, running at an almost unreal speed.
Kye almost fell off of It but managed to keep himself on the creature. They moved through the brush at a greater velocity than Kye had ever gone before.
The distance was eaten up as paws hit the ground, running.
Kye closed his eyes as they went, holding on just a little tighter.
Hang in there Hunter. We're coming.
What exactly is your plan to stop Chaos? Your not in your element anymore.
I know… I know… I don't know what I'm going to do… yet.
Well you better hurry and think of something because I can tell that we are almost there.
They skidded to a sudden stop, and the one holding Kye bent down for him to dismount.
Kye jumped off and pulled out his dagger. He could see Chaos, but knew he hadn't noticed them yet. They had a little bit of time to make something up, but Kye knew it wouldn't take long for Chaos to find them and likely destroy them.
The place seemed cramped, though it was enormous. It was a large clearing, hemmed in by tall, steep cliffs that towered into the sky.
Welcome to Sky Ridge, pup, It growled. Much of our history is here.
"And right now, Chaos is here to try and bury it, so I would appreciate if you started helping me get a plan together to stop him from doing that," Kye's voice was thick with sarcasm. He took a breath and shook his head. "Sorry, you know this place the best, can you give me a brief layout of the area?"
It cocked Its head and glared at him. "This place is sacred. Careful how you speak."
"Sorry, I'm just a little bit on edge about trying to stop the world from being blown to bits. Or burned whatever he has planned," Kye sighed. "Can you help me get something together to stop him?"
(Imma whack this, because I want to keep going with it.)
