Levi hummed. "I can't really think of good names. Give me a couple suggestions?" Maybe green bean? Sweat pea? A name that wasn't food based? He was shooting blanks.
Levi hummed. "I can't really think of good names. Give me a couple suggestions?" Maybe green bean? Sweat pea? A name that wasn't food based? He was shooting blanks.
Eerie tilted his head. “Honestly, I can only think of Noodle.” He gave a faint laugh. “Snakes are just so noodle-y.” And he was hungry. That’s also probably Noodle was the… only name to come to mind.
Levi liked noodle. "That's good." He loosely wrapped his arms around Eerie, cautiously holding the boy with a half-dreamy grin. He felt really…good. It was weird.
Eerie gave a sleepy laugh. “Noooooodleeeeeee… it’s such a funny name for a snake…” He giggled again, leaning closer into Levi’s grip.
Levi shrugged, carefully pulling Eerie closer. "Not really. As you said, snakes are very noodle like." He savored the feeling of a warm body against his. Eerie would let him do this every night. He got this every night. Why had the gods blessed him with such good luck? He really didn't deserve it.
Eerie nodded a little. “Snakes are the noodle-y-est ever…” He dug his face into Levi’s neck. It was so warm, warmer than what his own body heat could achieve.
Levi shifted to be more accommodating, feeling the tiniest bit uncomfortable with all this touching near his head. It wasn't noticeable, so he figured he'd be fine. "They are very long and thin. I guess if a noddle came to life, it would be something snake-like."
Eerie tried to imagine a noodle coming to life. It was rather hard. “I guess it would be. How would it even come alive? Or stay alive?”
Levi shrugged. "Magic?" He shifted Eerie off of his neck and shoulders, and back into his lap. He didn't really focus on the hows and whys of a situation. His expertise was getting shit done.
Eerie opened his eyes as he was moved. “Did I make you uncomfortable?” He looked up at Levi. “I apologize.”
(Going to bed. Goodnight.)
Levi shook his head. "No! I'm fine. You're just very cold." It was a dumb lie, one he wouldn't believe if he were Eerie, but it was all he had. May as well get it out before things got uncomfortable.
(Night.)
Eerie squinted at Levi, seeing through the flimsy lie at a solid barrier of brick. “Alright, whatever you say. If you’re more comfortable with me down here, then I’ll stay down here.” He didn’t care where he was; He loved Levi’s warmth.
Levi squirmed around a bit until Eerie was in a place that would hopefully be comfortable for both of them. "What will we be doing once we reach the house?" Would they have a schedule, or just drift around in a daze for a few weeks.
Eeire shrugged. “Eat. Hang out, maybe go for a swim, sleep.” He didn’t really have much in mind, in fact, he felt his smart, sharp intuition melting away into a lazy prince.
Drift in a daze. Levi swore internally for a couple seconds. He needed something to do. He'd die if he didn't have anything. "Okay. That sounds… fun." Some distaste had seeped into his voice.
Eerie glanced up at him and studied his face. “What? Did you have something else in mind?” He asked this with a tone of sharpness, which had bubbled back to his surface.
Levi winced just a little at the steel in Eerie's voice. He wasn't supposed to go against his husband! He was already disobeying orders and it hadn't even been a day. A punishment would be in order after they reached the mansion. He schooled his face back into the blank expression he normally wore and gave Eerie his answer. "No. That sounds lovely."
Eerie sat up and stood, stretching. “I’ll figure something else out. For now I’m going to get dressed.” He surveyed Levi again. “Don’t… don’t hurt yourself, alright?” He asked this gruffly, yet there was some warmness to be detected in it.
"I'll try not to." Levi couldn't help when an episode came on, but he could try to hold them off for as long as possible. Eerie seemed colder in the daylight than he had when he was still nuzzling into Levi's lap for warmth. Now he was gruff and sharp and nothing like the boy who had been curling ever closer to Levi the night before. It was strange, but Levi preferred the gruff one. His father had always told him that he needed a strong hand to guide him.
Eerie fluffed himself out and gave a slight nod before striding across the room. He opened the door, walked out, then shut it, going to his room for clothes. Eerie felt his infamous shiver creeping back into his limbs as he shut and locked his door. He stripped, sending him to a wrack of shivers, almost rendering him immobile. He grabbed his clothes in his shaking hands, but was too meek from the shivers to put a shirt over his head.
Levi dragged himself out of his tiny corner of the bed. The room was a mess, as was he. His hair was sticking up at odd angles and his clothes were wrinkled so deeply he doubted he could ever iron them completely. His duffle bag gaped at him from the chair, and his formal clothes lay spread eagle across the floor. That wouldn't do. He folded the clothes, stuck them in the duffle and then set to work making the bed.
Eerie gave up on his clothes and curled up into the cold bed. It was better than standing there in boxers with the possibility someone would want to come in and see. He reminded himself the door was locked and shook his head wildly. This was very poor planning on his part. He felt trapped, enclosed, weak. Shaking in a bed almost buck naked with his warm clothes on a chair nearby gave him thr feel of reckless childishness and the weakness of one. He burrowed in the bed, for more warmth, but Levi’s warmth had changed his body, compelling everything else to be as cold as a winter’s morning.
After he finished the bed, Levi moved on to himself. His hair was combed through with fingers and he tossed on his second pair of comfortable clothes. Where was Eerie? Changing shouldn't take this long, should it? He walked out of his room, feeling a chill run up his spine when he remembered this was a boat. And he was underwater. Shit. Fuck. He took a couple deep breaths and knocked on the door to Eerie's room. "Hey, Eerie. Can I come in?"
Eerie shivered as a fierce wave of coldness swept through his limbs. He heard a knock, then Levi requesting entry.
“S-sure,” Eerie barely called through his chattering teeth, “the door is locked, though. S-so…”
Eerie sounded bad. Hadn't he said something about being cold? Or like, extra sensitive to the cold? What if he was dying? Levi's mind did a brief blue screen of death when he processed that thought. If Eerie died, he was going to be sent back home to be a general and Flora would get shipped off. He couldn't let that happen. Levi jiggled the doorknob but the door remained resolutely shut. Fuck. "Are you okay!?"
