Eerie raised an eyebrow. Did he just… yelp? He gazed thoughtfully at Levi, giving him a calculating look.
“Are you alright?” He finally asked as he walked into the room.

Deleted user

"I'm fine." His voice was very high pitched, so Levi cleared his throat again. He pointedly didn't think about dark water rushing over his head and bodies floating around him, nothing to hold on to, holding his breath until he pulled water into his lungs as he was dying, dying, dying. "Why are you here?"

Eerie narrowed his eyes slightly. “I… came to check up on you. And talk. If we have a life’s sentence together, we might as well try to be friends and act like we love each other.”

Deleted user

Levi frowned. Friends were… odd. And they were close. And they asked things about your past. And what you're doing. And why you're crying. And… well, he may as well. He was going to be stuck with Eerie for the rest of his life. "That would be good." Hopefully, that wouldn't include PDA. Levi would drop kick someone who touched him without any kind of warning out of pure instinct.

Eerie gave a slight nod. “We don’t have to sleep together, but I dunno about my mum. She’ll make me do anything to assure we have a healthy relationship.” He walked over to the bed and laid down, stretching out.

Levi's stomach dropped. He hadn't slept with anyone for years. Ever since the prisoner of war episode, now that he thought about it. "Can we…not?" He asked, voice weak. He felt kind of woozy, like the room was moving back and forth, more than the way it normally does on a boat. He took a deep breath and the room steadied a bit. Was he going crazy?

Eerie calculated Levi again. “You should at least sit down. You look rather pale, you know.” He sat up, holding back a slight sigh. He could hear his mother’s words ringing in his ears: Couples who sleep in bed together have healthier relationships! Knowing his crazy mom, she’d make them sleep together the moment she found out they weren’t.

Levi shoved himself back into the chair, clutching onto the armrests like lifelines. He tried to calm down and not think about dying. Or having to sleep with someone. Or being a good husband. Or what his sister would do without him. He had a lot of stress in his life. "So…"

Eerie rubbed the back of his head. Coming in here was a bad idea. He doesn’t seem to be on top of himself at the moment…
“Look, if you want me to go, I will.”

"No!" Levi barked, flinching in surprise directly afterward. He was surprised by how much he didn't want to be alone. Eerie was strange, but he distracted Levi from all the water pouring down his throat around him in his lungs and he can't breathe but he's not ready to die. He whispered a quiet "Please" hating himself for needing this. He was a soldier! He wasn't supposed to need anything. 'you're a failure too' a nasty voice whispered in his head. The voice wasn't wrong.

Eerie jumped a little and gave a hasty, yet slight nod. “Alright, alright, I won’t go, then. I’ll stay here until it’s due time for sleep. Alright?”

Deleted user

"Thank you." His voice was still quiet and a silent chorus of worry chimed in the back of his mind. He tried to relax in the armchair, loosened his grip and the like, but he didn't feel any less tense. He thought back over their brief conversation, pulling up any questions he could think of. "How will we act like we're in love?"

Eerie sighed. “I have no idea. Personally I don’t think it’ll be easy, but we could pull it off pretty easily. Just hug and stuff.” Eerie rubbed his stomach, sighing. He hated the question Levi asked him, but he couldn’t act like it wasn’t important.

Deleted user

"Okay." He would just have to steel himself against random touches. It was something he needed to get used to anyway. Now he just had some motivation. He needed a better plan for acting in love, though. 'Hug and stuff' wouldn't work for him. Maybe he could… well, no, that wouldn't work. He could try to strategize in the morning.

Eerie looked down at the bed with a sigh. The silence of the room pressed into his ears. He shook his head a little, entwined in messed up jumbles of thoughts and memories. This was all happening so fast.

(I’m going to bed. Night.)

(Night! Sleep well.)

Levi twitched in the chair for a while before he approached the bed. He needed to sleep. He hadn't slept at all last night because his father was training him about being a good husband. He hadn't been following them so far. "Can I get in with you?" He gestured towards the bed with a hesitant look on his face.

Eerie looked down at the bed, after starting out of his stupor of thoughts. “Oh, I can get out if you need me to.” He really didn’t want Levi to force himself to sleep with him. That’d just be downright cruel.

The only thing that ever snapped Levi out of things like this was a warm body. It was a badly kept palace secret that Levi brought specific soldiers into his room and kept them there all night. Of course, Eerie was no trusted soldier. Still, nothing was worse than the nightmares he got after these. "Can you stay?"

Deleted user

Eerie blinked and laid back again, shrugging. “Sure. I don’t mind. Do you want to keep me here all night?” Eerie was a little put off my this, but not disturbed. He wasn’t expecting Levi, the supposed toughened soilder, to ask him to stay.

Deleted user

Levi raised a shoulder as if to say 'only if you want to'. He really would prefer to stay with Eerie all night. but that would be the weakness to end al weakness. He wasn't a baby and he didn't need someone to mother him. He rolled himself under the covers, tucking himself into the wall until his back was pressed against it.

Eerie curled up into the sheets. He took the slight shrug as a yes amd rested his head on the pillow with a gentle sigh. He didn’t find himself to be the wamrest human being to sleep with, let alone be around. His hands were always cold, he shivered violently in winter. Now was one of those times, since the rooms were below deck, therefore making the room cold with the water’s temperature. He started to shiver, even under the thick blankets, the cold nipping at his bones.

Deleted user

Levi felt feverish. Tired. He wanted someone to hold him and pet him and tell him that everything would be alright. That was dumb. He was being dumb. Not a baby. And he shouldn't take gentleness either. He didn't deserve it. But maybe holding someone's hand would be okay? Yeah. People did that all the time. He reached out to grab Eerie's hand, gasping slightly at how cold it was. Was this boy, a snowman?

Eerie felt groggy and slow. Shivering slowed him down, made him feel exponentially tired than usual. Levi’s hand came like a warm fire in the cold Alaskan. He squeezed it, trying to warm his shivering self, but of course, they were merely holding hands. Not holding each other close.
