With a sigh, Kenzie rolled the window back up and opened the door. She stepped out, staying close to the car, and crossed her arms. Again, she subconsciously rubbed them with her hands.

Not looking Hunter in the eye, she leaned back on the car.

Hunter stepped closer to Kenzie, reaching out to wipe her cheeks slowly. He kept his hand on her cheek, rubbing soft circles.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I shouldn’t have let my anger out at you. I got really angry and I… I ended up being cold towards you, you who didn't deserve any of it.”

Kenzie sighed and pulled Hunter's hand from her face. She held his hand in both of hers, looking down at them so that she wouldn't have to look him in the eye.

"No, it's fine. I deserved it," she argued quietly. "I shouldn't have pushed you to talk to your father. I know how much you dislike him."
