Alyssa grinned. "Let me guess… Lunter?"
Alyssa grinned. "Let me guess… Lunter?"
(It's okay xD)
"Yes, I heard Luna say your name." Alyssa twirled her hair in between her fingers, and looked at Hunter in the most dreamy way possible.
"Actually, it's Hunter," Hunter corrected, then suddenly thought of a cliche thing to say. "Kind of like the hunter of hearts. Hearts like your pretty little cousin here."
(No, Willow's a friend from college. She's pretty odd. I probably should've mentioned that…)
(ah, so no ship)
"Ok, Willow. Now get out off my counter!" Kenzie told her friend. "And stop eating my cookies."
"Okay, okay! Yeesh, what's gotten into you?" questioned Willow, narrowing her eyes as she put the cookies back into the cupboard.
Making her way over to the old, gray couch, Kenzie explained her morning, including the part about seeing Hunter.
"Ooh, an old friend, eh?" Willow said suggestively, wiggling her eyebrows as she sat next to Kenzie on the couch.
Kenzie rolled her eyes. "It's nothing like that."
"Uh-huh. If you say so, hun."
A blush crept its way onto Kenzie's cheeks. "Willow!" she exclaimed, exasperated.
"What? Can't a girl tease her friend?" Willow smirked.
"Whatever. I've got class tomorrow and homework today. So if you don't mind…" Kenzie trailed off, motioning to the door.
"Fine! Fine! I'll go," said Willow, standing up and making her way over to the door. As she opened it, she turned around and said, "But I demand to know more if you run into him again."
Kenzie rolled her eyes. "Goodbye, Willow," she said, shoving her friend out the door.
"Bye, Kenz."
After the door shut, Kenzie leaned back against it and slid down so that she was sitting on the ground.
What has gotten into me? she thought, putting her head into her hands.
(Next time we see Kenzie, she'll be at the coffee shop again.)
(Also… <3 triangle, anyone? wiggles eyebrows)
"Oh," said Alyssa. She felt something inside her. Maybe she WAS really being an annoying brat. She ignored the feeling.
"Yes, my cousin is quite the charmer." She winked and nudged Luna.
(Awh, who will Hunter choose from all these cute girls?)
Hunter grinned.
"She sure is. Maybe I'm rubbing off on her."
(To clarify, this is the day after Kenzie talked to Luna and Hunter… Or whatever day the others are all at the coffee shop again.)
The next day, Kenzie walked into Hot Beans. She saw a small group of people, but ignored them and ordered her coffee.
(Yup! It's the next day.)
Hunter opened his mouth to remark again, but he saw a familiar head and smiled.
"Kenz!" he called, his hand raised in a wave. "What a surprise. You're here again."
Hearing her name called, Kenzie turned around. Who she saw shocked her; Hunter was here again, this time with Luna and another girl. She pasted on a smile, feeling awkward after her conversation with Willow yesterday.
"Hi, Hunter. Funny seeing you here," she said.
"Could say the same to you," Hunter replied, stuffing his hand into his pockets. "Didn't expect to see you, or Luna or her cousin here either, but here we are."
Kenzie laughed awkwardly. "Yeah. This is, like, my favorite place to get coffee, so I'm here a lot. And this is your cousin?" she asked, turning towards Luna and the other girl.
"What a surprise," Hunter said, feigning shock. "This is my favorite place for appointments. When a client acts like a dick, I just spill coffee on them."
Trying to hide her laughter, Kenzie bit her lip and turned away. She shook with the laughter that was trying to spill out of her, hoping that no one would notice.
Luna quietly watches as Hunter and Kenzie talk, not knowing whether she should try to flirt with Hunter in front of Kenzie or just stay silent. After a moment of thought, she decided to stay quiet. "They would be cute together…" Luna thought sadly.
"You should try it sometime," Hunter continued. "Their expression is priceless. It's the best thing ever."
That statement broke Kenzie, and she laughed out loud. She could just imagine a horrified person, covered in hot coffee, sitting across from Hunter, who would have a smug look on his face.
Luna quietly ordered her hot chocolate and sat as far from them as possible so as not to disturb them.
Hunter grinned, feeling satisfied.
"You stayin'?" he asked but didn't want for a reply. "Let's go sit where charming Luna thought would be her escape."
Alyssa placed her hand on Luna's shoulder.
"You should at least TRY to snatch him up. Hunter, I mean."
Catching her breath, and trying to hold back more laughter, Kenzie said, "Okay," and followed him over to the booth Luna sat in.
"But what if he doesn't like me back?" Luna whispers worriedly to Alyssa.
"Are you effing kidding me?" Alyssa whispered.
"#Lunter Forever! Plus without your hoodie, you are kinda… sexy."
