When Hunter spun her, Kenzie giggled.

"Well, I'm certainly glad you know how to dance," she said, smiling up at him. "Because, like I said, I've never done this before, and I'm actually having a lot of fun."

Hunter kissed her nose, grinning.
“I’m glad you are,” he said, pulling her closer as the music slowed down. “Hey, want to meet the people I grew up with? They’re probably by the food, and I’m sure you want to eat something.”

"Sure, that sounds fine," Kenzie agreed with a nod. "And I'm always hungry, you should know that by now!"

Hunter grinned.
“This is why I didn’t ask,” he replied, still grabbing her hand. “The food is heavenly. Definitely not to your level, but still. Come on.”
Hunter led her on to the food stand where a group stood, talking and bickering. There were kids playing right next to them, chattering loudly. Hunter grinned as he approached them, turning to Kenzie.
“These people,” he said to Kenzie. “Are the best.”
A black haired woman, her mouth stuffed with what seemed like cupcakes, noticed them first.
“Hunter!” she exclaimed, swallowing her cupcake quickly before reaching out to give him a hug. “It’s been so long!”
“Yeah, it’s been pretty long, hasn’t it?” Hunter shrugged, opening his mouth to say something when someone whacked him over the head while the other punched his shoulder. “What the hell?”
A green-eyed man glared at him.
“That was for shutting us out,” he told Hunter.
Meanwhile, the other man with black-ish blue hair gave a toothy grin, rubbing his hand.
“I just did it for fun,” he said to Hunter. “But yeah, I was pretty pissed.”
“Cut him some slack, Greene,” a blonde haired woman stepped in, pulling the green-eyed man’s ear. “He’s been through enough.”
“Tay’s right,” a red-haired woman piped up in a blank tone. “Look at Steve. He’s just standing there, sipping his coke and glaring at Hunter, finding ways to torture him. Be like Steve.”
“Er, I’ll take the punches over to Steve’s methods,” Hunter said nervously.
“Hunter,” Steve opened his mouth to talk, his voice a bit cold. “Leo was frantic. Called your phone, said you weren’t responding. Also said he lost your date.”
“He’ll find me,” Hunter shrugged. “Oh! By the way, there’s someone I want you to meet.”
He looked back at Kenzie and smiled, hoping to make her feel at ease.
“Guys, this is my girlfriend, Kenzie,” he introduced her. “Kenz, the red-haired girl is Hailey. The blonde girl right there is Taylor. This one right there, with the black-blue hair, is Gray. The green-eyed ones are twins, Damian and Charlotte, and the last one is Steve.”
He hoped he wasn’t making her uncomfortable. Getting her introduced to the nicest people in the party, it was a good idea, considering Hunter could get distracted. At least some people would save Kenzie.

Kenzie waved a bit and gave them a small smile.

"Hi," she said quietly. She looked over at the food, a somewhat longing expression in her eyes. Leaning closer to Hunter, she whispered, "Can I take some of the food now?"

(I've gtg for the night.)

"Sure," Hunter grinned. "Take whatever you want to eat, and eat however you want, before Carly eats it all."
Charlotte glared at Hunter.
"I will not eat it all!" she exclaimed. Hunter scoffed.
"You eat for five people, Carly," he said.
"You try being a vessel and then tell me I eat too much!" Charlotte huffed, crossing her arms. Gray laughed and threw his arm over her shoulder.
"Stop teasing my wife, kid," he said, but his eyes twinkled with mischief. Charlotte didn't notice and instead grinned. "That's my job." Charlotte was no longer smiling.
Taylor sighed, shaking her head before turning her attention to Kenzie. She smiled.
"You look really pretty," she said, smiling softly at Kenzie.
"Unlike you," Damian muttered under his breath, but shut up when Taylor shot him a glare.
"If you have any trouble with Hunter," Taylor started slowly. "I'll understand and will help you kick his ass. He mainly grew up around Damian, so he's like the mini version of him, except I bet he treats you a lot nicer because unlike his role model, he's a sweetheart."

Kenzie squeezed Hunter's hand in thanks, then smiled at Taylor.

"Thanks, but he's been pretty great, so far. Except for that time when he ate my pie," she shot him a look, then reached over to the table to grab a cupcake.

She took a small bite and her eyes widened slightly. "This is really good!" she exclaimed, covering her semi-full mouth with her cupcake-holding hand.

(Bumping.)

"It was just one pie, Kenz," Hunter rolled his eyes. "And Taylor, I was just a child. I thought Damian was extremely cool."
"So you're saying I'm not cool?" Damian raised his eyebrows, causing Hunter grin.
"Yeah," Taylor piped up. "You're anything but cool, Greene."
Damian and Taylor would've started bickering once again, until Charlotte interrupted.
"Isn't it?" she exclaimed at Kenzie. "I love these cupcakes. You should try everything else. It's heavenly!"

(Bumping.)

(Perfect post.)

"Yes, but it was my pie. Anyway… Everything looks so good, though, I don't know what to pick next," Kenzie said before finishing off her cupcake. "Any suggestions?"

"There's chicken bread," Charlotte said excitedly. "I had Hunter put it on the menu specifically for me! You should try it. It's amazing!"

Kenzie smiled a bit. "It sounds great. I'll–"

"McKenzie Hope Rhodes, where have you been?!?"

"Oh, crap," Kenzie muttered under her breath as she turned around to face a fuming blonde. She gave her a guilty smile. "Hi, Willow…"

"Leo and I have been looking everywhere for you! You can't just do that to me, I had no idea where you were!" Willow exclaimed.

"Willow, I'm a big girl, I can handle myself. Plus, I found Hunter," Kenzie replied gesturing to her boyfriend. "Could you calm down a bit, please?"

Willow huffed and put her hands on her hips. "Fine."

Rolling her eyes, Kenzie turned back to the group. "Sorry about that. This is my friend, Willow. Willow, these are Hunter's old friends, Charlotte, Damian, Gray, Steve, Hailey, and Taylor."

Everyone waved at Willow, except Steve who gave a small nod.
"You had one job, Leo," Hunter rolled his eyes at his best friend. "One job. What would have happened if I hadn't found Kenzie? You know just as well as I do how crazy the girls here are."
"She just left the second I took my eyes off of her!" Leo exclaimed. "How is it my fault?"

"Did you guys dance, yet?" Kenzie asked Willow.

"No. We were looking for you," Willow replied bitterly, glaring at her friend.

Kenzie raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I'm sorry, chill. You should go dance. Leo, you should make Willow dance with you. She'd enjoy it," she suggested giving Willow a look.

Leo grinned.
"Let's go, Willow," he held out his hand for Willow to take. "You dancing, Hunt?"
Hunter shrugged.
"Kenzie's eating right now, so we'll probably dance later," he replied.

Willow begrudgingly took Leo's hand, all the while giving Kenzie a dirty look. The latter just grinned as her friend was carted off to the dance floor by her date.

Turning back to Hunter, Kenzie asked, "Did you want to dance now? 'Cause I can eat later if you do."

Hunter shrugged.
"I'm fine either way," he said, grabbing a cupcake and taking a bite, chewing slowly before swallowing.

"Then come dance with me!" Kenzie exclaimed, an excited look on her face. "Hurry up and finish that!"

Hunter laughed and finished his cupcake, excusing himself from the company of the others and following Kenzie to the dance floor.
"Sorry," he said as another slow song came up. "There's no fast music or anything. If it had been a normal party, we would've danced like idiots. But unfortunately, it's not."

"That's okay. I'm fine with this," Kenzie replied, placing her hands back on his shoulders like before. "So… Um, weren't you going to tell me something earlier?"

Hunter suddenly remembered.
"Oh, right… Not here," he shook his head. "We'd have to leave to a secluded area to be able to talk about that."

"Mm. All right," Kenzie said simply, looking up at Hunter. If she wasn't wearing so much makeup, a blush would be visible as she quietly told him, "You look really nice tonight."

"Well, I had to impress someone," Hunter shot her a cheeky grin, dipping her lightly. "So, are you impressed?"
