“Sure… I guess?”
“Sure… I guess?”
Safe from what? Aidan thought, shoving all his things into his backpack.
Ruby frowned, she didn’t like this. She walked to her next class.
(Anyone on?)
(I’m on!)
(Cool can we talk in your next class? What should it be?)
(Maybe English Honors ‘cause they’re both smart. XD)
(Sure)
(Emma's good at analyzing stuff, not so much writing poems. More like essays)
(I'm here but Aidan isn't that smart so he's going to a different class)
Aidan reluctantly stood up, putting on his backpack and walking out of the classroom. Alright…time for History. Great.
Ruby took her seat in the front row, putting her backpack aside and her notebook and pencils out.
He walked to the History classroom, sitting in the back row as always. Aidan dropped his bag on the floor, already lying his head down on his desk.
(Wait… I thought Aidan was going to history?)
(woops yeah sorry)
Zack attended Chemistry next, and though the air still tasted slightly of perfume, there was no indication of the kerfuffle from earlier.
There they were again, whispers and rumors from excited students. If things got nasty, fights would begin to break out, parents would be outraged, and then everything would go to hell. He could think of at least three students in Zavoem who would love to strike preemptively.
Aidan heard whispers coming from the students next to him. Ugh…this is what I get for sitting in the back row…
Aislinn sat down in the middle, listening to nearby conversations.
Ruby ignored the whispering and began taking her notes.
Emma was busy writing down her draft for the article they had to work on, when she heard loud snickers behind her. She turned around to see two Zavoem boys quickly turning their head away from her, but not before she caught the words “Ileyitome bastards. We should just kill them all,” She whirled back around quickly, preparing for confrontation.
"Stupid Zavoem." One of his classmates whispered. Aidan recognized the two younger Yuqed kids, who hadn't noticed him listening in on their conversation. "My mom said that they're all just wannabe Yuqeds."
The whispering from the boys behind Ruby started to give her a headache. “All the other clans are just trying to be like Zavoem, but who should blame them? Zavoem is the best after all.” The boys whispered.
The teacher, oblivious to the internal chaos inside the classroom, turned around and smiled. "Class, I'm going to be gone for about ten minutes. Please behave while I'm gone," As soon as she shut the door, the two Zavoem boys smiled wolfishly. Emma brought out a couple vials from her belt, rolling them in her hand threateningly.
Aidan would normally ignore the gossip, but right now he needed information. He doubted these kids would know much, but it was worth a shot. "Yeah." One of the Yuqed kids agreed. "My parents and I moved because our neighbors put a sign out in the yard that said 'All Clans Welcome.'"
Ruby couldn’t stand the whispering from the boys behind her, so she gave them a glare and they stayed silent for about 10 minutes.
