"I seriously doubt the lake is that bad, you would have to go farther out to get the nasty stuff." He noticed she was staring and his had moved to his scar and he realized it was showing and he quickly covered it with hair a bit embarrassed.
Amelia slowly raised her hand and pushed his hair back again, exposing the scar. She gave him a soft smile. "You look handsome. You don't need to hide, not around me."
He looked away trying to cover up that he was about to cry, "Stop your going to make me blush." His voice cracked a little.
“Fine” she leaned in him “but I still won” she took a big breath in to stablize herself but she smelled nick interwar and she looked down and blushed
"Good. I think boys look adorable when they blush." Amelia raised on her tip toes to kiss his cheek. "Now, im going to beat your ass at sandcastle making."
Nick rolled his eyes. "Yes, now we go to the infirmary." He put a hand on her back to guide her there. He didn't want her to fall over and hurt herself more.
He blushed when she kissed his cheek and quickly wiped his eyes so the tears didn't fall down his cheek. "In your dreams, Im obviously the better sandcastle maker."
She walked with him she kind of didn’t want the moment to end and she thought to herself stop being dumb and she tried to clear her mind as they got to the steps of the Apollo cabin
Amelia smirked. "I think not. Im a perfectionist. There's no way you can beat me."
Nick stood in the doorway. "I'll see you later alright? Make sure you actually follow any instructions they give you okay?"
Dove sat in the grass, taking deep breaths. Ahead of her, every target had been pierced with an arrow, but only one had struck the very center.
Had the news Ash had given her shaken her up? Or was she just getting worse? After a few rounds, she had noticed that her hands were shaking, and the arrow drooped in her hand when she pulled back the string. What was wrong with her? Is she just overreacting again? Tears began forming in her eyes.
She tried to move her thoughts to other matters. Perhaps she should just take a break and see if anyone needed help in the infirmary… Or she could go and find Wendi…
She wanted to do both, if she was being honest. Maybe she could, but one at a time?
Dove stood. She took off the bow and quiver and put them back in the buckets. She looked around, trying to see if she could spot Wendi from here. To the left of her, the forest stretched on for a bit before it turned into the strawberry fields, where some Demeter and Dionysus kids could be seen. To the right, the river poked out of the forest and pooled out into the lake. Dove could see Wendi on the far shore, and some other people who seemed to be fooling around.
Dove wandered over to the lake, trying to not get noticed, but also wanting to be quick enough to not get sunburnt.
"Yes well sometimes perfectionist get so caught up in trying to be perfect hey mess up something they think isn't perfect that actually looks good." He brushed his shoulder against hers walking up to the sandy shore.
“ fine” she spoke with a sarcastic tone she wish he would stay here with her but it didn’t matter she walked into the cabin and spoke to the Apollo kids they quickly cleaned and heal the wound she decided to not use to much energy she just went back to her cabin and tinkered a little mulling over what had happened today
Wendi spotted Dove coming towards the lake and dropped her mist illusion to make her way towards Dove. She moved quickly so that the weird lovey-dovey pair wouldn't spot her and gestured to Dove to meet her a bit aways.
"I see what you're doing. You're trying to use your little mind games so that you'll have a chance in beating me. But its not gonna work." Amelia smirked and shoved him playfully.
Nick just ruffled her hair and walked down the steps of the infirmary. He took a shower in his cabin to get cleaned up before dinner. All he knew if that there was a special preformance tonight at the amphitheater.
Dove managed to meet Wendi without getting spotted. They decided on spot a few yards away from the lake, right at the edge of the forest.
She gave a hollow laugh. “Even the naiads want to stay away from those two.”
"You will see, I'll win this comptetion." He ruffled her hair messing it up even more.
Amelia gasped. "Oh you did not just do that." She jumped on him again, hitting his back. Obviously she didn't do it hard enough to hurt, but no one messed with her hair.
"I'm not surprised," Wendi laughed at Dove's comment. She looked over at Dove and sat down on one of the fallen logs, "How are doing right now?"
"Argh! AGain with the back!" He grabbed her arm after stumbling a little, Trying to pull her off of his back. he wasn't being serious of course so he just fell over on his back squishing her.
“Oh, you know…” Dove hesitated. She didn’t seem to notice the grass slowly turning brown as she sat in it. “A little… discouraged, I guess. Target practice didn’t turn out so great.”
Amelia shrieked. "You oaf, sand gett everywhere! Get off!" She started pulling at his hair
"But im so tirrreeeeddddd."he let his body become a deadweight on her.
"Well, that kind of sucks," Wendi replied spotting the brown grass and wondering if it was her that caused it. No, that was silly, "At least we're not playing capture the flag tonight."
