Alexandra sat in the office of her favorite nurse, quietly worrying about her latest episode. She could've sown the demon she saw was real, his leathery wings and curling horns too detailed for her to dream up on her own, but that simply wasn't possible. She was probably just having another problem with her meds. She groaned aloud at the thought of having to get them adjusted. That would mean weeks of icky side effects and even less sleep than normal.
Aika greets a few other nurses and doctors kindly. She was determined today. She was new to the Asylum, only having been here for not even a full year, maybe a half. She was sharply dressed, but despite her more serious expression, she was nothing more than a giant sweetheart. She makes it to her office, humming softly, adjusting the reading glasses perched on her nose. She removes them and places them in her jacket. She was very young to be working in an asylum, but here she was. Aika sets the files on her desk.
Alexandra noticed Nurse Aika walk in, and made a small humming noise to grab her attention. The woman- girl really- wasn't much older than Alexandra herself, though she did have quite a bit more medical training. Even though she hadn't been at Sunnybrook Asylum For The Mentally Distressed much more than half a year, she was definitely one of the best staff members in the damn place.
Aika smiles warmly at Alexandra. "And how is my favorite patient." She asks a gentle look in her eyes. She adored Alexandra. She motions towards the bean bag, "Make yourself at home." She says cheerfully, sitting in her bean bag. She tried to make her office seem warm and comforting. She knew some patients hated such the stark walls and angered nurses. She tried to be gentle and lighthearted.
Alex (Imma shorten her name cause it's a pain to write Alexandra) walked slowly over to the beanbag and plopped down, shoving her hands into the pocket of her hoodie. "I had a break down last night, coulda sworn I saw a demon. The doc says I need to get my meds adjusted. Again." She gave a dejected sigh and frowned. It seemed like all she did was get her meds adjusted.
Aika falls onto her bean bag dramatically, letting out a pained groan. She smiles a little and sits up. "Alright. So. Explain the demon." She says gently, folding her arms over her knees. "I want every single little detail you can give me." She knew from experience that it was a dangerous thing to be messing around with meds, and she knew it was better to talk about what people saw, not to keep them bottled up. She smiles softly and gazes at Alex with care.
Alex smiled softly at Aika before she dove into the memory, dredging up every detail she could muster. "Well, he was real tall, y'know? Must've been six or seven feet, with these long, curly ram's horns poppin out of his head, right above the ears!" She motioned dramatically at the sides of her head. "He also had these big fuckin dragon wings all curled around his torso, and they were all gross and raggedy at the edges like they'd been torn. His skin was a weird purple color and his eyes." She stopped and shuddered. His eyes had been deep black pits that seemed to stare into her soul, and she felt like even mentioning them would give them power over her.
Aika listened intently, her eyes filled with curiosity and gentle expressions. Aika leans back. "And? Explain his eyes." She says gently, folding her hands. That was detailed. Either she was very imaginative or the meds were messing with her head in an unnatural way. She leans forward. "I need to know everything."
Alex bit her lip, looking at the floor as she fought to calm herself. Eventually, she began speaking again, albeit in a whisper. "His eyes were like- like shadows. But they were darker…somehow. Like pits of emptiness reaching out for my soul." She took in a deep breath, clinging to the fact that he wasn't real, that none of this was real. She gave a hysterical giggle before she could stop herself.
Aika nods as she listens, a small flash of concern running through her eyes as the other descibes the demons eyes. She didn't do anything when Alex laughed. Aika looks at Alex gently, "First off. Do you need a hug." She says gently, "And second. I believe we may need to change meds, but I think that it's just a matter of dosage." She smiles a little.
Alex gave a shaky smile. "A hug would be great. But, uh, are you sure its the dosage? We've tried upping it before and all it did was give me headaches, plus I saw two fairies and a goblin."
