Aspen texted Bean quickly:
the clothing theme is calm, cool, and casual? since im freaking out because I have nothing formal to wear, I don't expect you to either, unless you want she texted then sent it quickly, pulling Max up and into her room where she opened her closet and stood there looking in, hands on her hips.
"I honestly have no clue where to start" Max said with a smirk, Aspen hit his in the upper arm playfully.
"Pants, I always start with pants." She said and he smiled, looking through her clothes and pulling the dresser drawer open to reveal all of her pants taking it up, while her tops and shirts were in the closet.
Bean read the message and took a deep breath. “Okay…clothes. I can handle that-“ she tried to tell herself before entering her room and searching for an outfit.
Alana laughed lightly. “And I can help you with what to say!” she grinned, following her friend.
Aspen smiled to herself as Max went to her dresser and threw various pants on her bed, then went over to her bed and picked through them slowly.
"girl you own some weird clothes." Max said and they both laughed.
Bean hummed as she searched through her outfits. “Hmmm-“ she looked between her clothes.
Alana chuckled. “You have a lot of clothes, you dork-“
Aspen sorted through the clothes with Max, who was making various disapproving noises at her wardrobe.
"I was thinkin' casual stuff that also kind of whispers that im gay." Aspen said and Max laughed "girl, she doesn't need to know you're gay, you asked her on a date." He responded
"fair" she said
Bean, meanwhile, had already picked her outfit as she smiled. “How’s this?”
Alana rolled her eyes. “Bea, you picked a shirt with a Hamilton reference on it-“ she laughed. “You’re such a theatre kid-“
Bean laughed, smiling softly. “Yeah, well…so are you!”
Aspen rolled her eyes as Max set out an outfit, a tighter maroon T-shirt which said "Rednecks For Peace" on it, paired with a pair of loose light colored jeans with large rips in them, red, yellow and blue striped socks and high top black and white vans.
"this looks good, I like the shirt" Aspen said with a giggle and Max giggled too.
Bean continued preparing her outfit, humming to herself.
Alana helped her, smiling softly. “I think this girl’s gonna like you a lot-“
The oldest Rose sister blushed deeply. “You think so…?”
"what if I fuck this up like hard?" Aspen asks Max nervously, he pats her on the shoulder gently.
"As long as you're yourself you will." He states and she smacks him.
"Max! Im serious!" She yells and he laughs at her anger.
"Listen girl, as long as you tell the truth, and be honest and just be yourself you can't go wrong" Max said.
Bean started pacing nervously. “What if she thinks I’m weird? What if I saw the wrong thing?!” she was panicking.
Alana grabbed her friend’s shoulders gently. “Hey…it’ll be okay. You just need to remember that if she was willing to hang out with you, she could be worth it,” she spoke kindly but firmly.
Bean sighed. “Yeah…Yeah, you’re right…”
Aspen smiles to herself and pulls out her phone, sending Bean a quick message.
Do you have any classes tomorrow? If not we could move the date to later around midnight, Arizona is like a totally different place at night she texts and throws her phone on her bed, she changes as Max stays in the room but turns away, helping her with her hair and makeup.
"What if she says to keep the date tomorrow rather than later?" Aspen asks nervously as Max carefully curls her hair.
"Then you'll look like a bad bitch two whole days in a row" he responds and Aspen laughs into the bathroom mirror.
Bean smiled a tiny bit, texting back.
Nope! I think Arizona at midnight sounds fun! she was excited, twirling a bit.
Alana saw the messages and smirked. “You have it bad~”
okay cool, I'll pick you up at about eleven forty five Aspen texted then smiled at Max through the mirror.
"Taking her out later instead is a go, I just think this entire state is way more pretty at night" Aspen expressed and Max nodded "a lot of things are prettier at night in Arizona." He said with wink.
Aspen wound back her hand as if to fake hit him, as he finished curling the last bit of her ponytail.
Bean blushed deeply, holding the phone close to her as she squeaked. She was excited and it was clear to anyone who saw her.
Alana laughed lightly. “Awwwww!!” she gushed as she started helping her friend with her hair.
Aspen then sprayed herself with perfume as well as cologne and twirled in front of the mirror.
"You look great if I must say so myself." Max said and Aspen grinned.
"Thank you maxi pad, you're the best." She stated.
Bean allowed Alana to brush her hair, humming softly. “Thanks again, Lana…”
Alana smiled softly. “Of course. Now you better have fun-“ she laughed.
Aspen stood up, twirling in the mirror once again as she giggled quietly.
"Wow I look wonderful" she whispered to herself and Max nodded.
"That you do." Max agreed with a grin.
Bean smiled softly. “I will! Thanks!” she beamed as she stood up, twirling.
Alana laughed lightly. “It’s no problem.”
Aspen pecked Max on the cheek gently. "Thanks Maxi pad" she said as she grabbed her car keys off the kitchen counter and ran down the steps, she opened her car door, turned the car on and rolled down all the windows while turning the air on low, she put her seatbelt on then texted Bean.
Im on the way right now, just got in the car :)
she texted and then exited her apartments parking lot and headed back toward the university.
Bean grinned when she saw the text, grabbing her purse as she walked over to the door. She took a deep breath. “Wish me luck!”
On my way! :)
Alana smiled softly. “Good luck! Have fun!”
Aspen drove through the city, its air humid and sticky, but also sweet.
She pulled into the student parking lot closest to the dorms and pulled out her phone to text Bean.
Im in the student parking lot
She then plugged her phone into the aux cord and played Ricky Montgomery "Line Without A Hook"
Bean smiled, sending a response back.
Coming out of my dorm right now!
She then opened the door and quickly made her way down to the student parking lot.
Aspen waited quietly, humming along with the song and drumming her fingers on the car steering wheel softly.
She had decided not to respond, as there was not a correct response she could think of to Bean's text.
