With a couple of hours to spare, Kasey pulled out her laptop and decided to get to work on some homework. College and a job and being a superhero were hard to juggle, but she managed.
Liam manage to write his entire article, send it and get the edited copy back in the time before he had to leave. Putting his shoes on, he grabbed a bag with his phone, wallet and drink bottle before grabbing his keys and heading out the door.
Kasey had managed to finish some Calculous problems and start on a paper for another class before she checked her watch and realized she was supposed to meet Liam in a few minutes. She still needed to get a few things together before she left, so she did that as quickly as she could.
Grabbing ab extra backpack from her closet, she placed her suit in it, hiding it under some other things. Once she was done with that, she grabbed her spare set of keys from a hook by the door and walked out, almost running into Liam in the process.
"Oh, hey! Funny running into you here," she joked with a light laugh.
Liam laughed a little, “I know, such a strange coincidence. All ready to go?” He asked, smiling.
"Let me just lock my door, and I'll be good," Kasey said before turning to do just that. Once she was finished, she faced Liam again, smiling at him. "Okay, I'm ready."
“Then let’s go.” He replied, smiling back at her as they left the building, “You weren’t wrong when you said it was a nice day.” Liam said, tooking up at the clear blue sky above them.
Kasey smiled as she followed Liam out. "Yeah, it's beautiful! I wish it was like this every day. Not too hot, not too cold, but just the perfect temperature."
Liam nodded, “Now wouldn’t that be nice. But, rain is still needed so sadly, it cannot be like this.”
"Right, of course," Kasey sighed in agreement. "But rainy days are nice, too. I like to just lay in bed or on the couch and either read a book or watch a movie." When I have time…
(Btw, idk how often I'll be on in the future. Life stuff.)
(That’s fine, it’s how life goes sometimes)
Liam hummed in agreement, “Readings good, writing as well.” He said, drawing his gaze from the sky and towards Kasey, giving her a warm smile.
"Yes, I'm sure," Kasey said, returning the smile. "So, how far is this place, anyway?"
“Not that far, maybe another ten minutes.” Liam explained, inclining his head in the direction of where they were going.
"All right. What's your favorite thing to look at there?" Kasey asked curiously.
“There’s this one area, beautiful for photos and pretty secluded. I’ll show you when we’re there, it’s better left a suprise.” Liam said, smirking.
Kasey raised her eyebrows. "I'm… not such a big fan of surprises, but I trust you, so I'm sure that this will be fine," she admitted. The distrust of surprises must come from being a superhero… She didn't remember it being that way before she got her powers.
Liam chuckled, “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine. It’s really beautiful, you’ll love it.” He said, letting out a content sigh. He was excited to show Kasey, he didn’t kniw the last time he’d shown someone so this was a first.
"I'm sure I will," Kasey agreed, glancing over at Liam to smile at him.
Liam smiled back for a few moments before back to the path. The gardens were coming into view, bring colours of many with it because of all the types of flowers and trees. It was beautiful, even from the outside but on the inside it would be astonishing.
Kasey looked around at it all, wide-eyed. "Wow…" she breathed. "This is… Wow."
Liam smiled, “Wow indeed, this way.” He cautiously took her hand in his and led the, through the trees. The oath they were taking folllowed a small running rover that glistened in the afternoon sun. There was a small white bridge up ahead that looked like it led to nowhere as there was a bush in front of it. Liam led them both over the bridge and found a small hole in the bushes and crawled through.
Kasey's hand tingled when Liam took it, and she wished she could use her telepathy to read his mind. For some reason, though, his thoughts were blocked from her. That was something she hadn't yet encountered, and it was almost unsettling.
She shook her head, clearing it of the feeling by and her thoughts so that she could focus on the scene before her. When she turned to find Liam, she saw him crawling through a hole.
"Uh, Liam? What, um, what're you doing?" she asked, starting to pick at her nails.
“Don’t be a child, if you want to see you have to follow.” He said before he disappeared through the bush completely.
When he was on the other side, he grinned and was glad that this place had still gone undiscovered. A white bench sat under one tree and in the corner, a swing was tied to another. Flowers grew in all colours and sizes around a small pond in the middle of the space.
Kasey paused for a moment before taking a deep breath and letting it out. She bent down to follow Liam, eventually emerging on the other side.
"Oh my gosh. It's like the Secret Garden," she said softly. "It really is beautiful."
