Marco itched his arm. "Do you know if the news is on all day long at her house? She seemed to recognize Alastair."

Althea paused in her preparation. "I hadn't thought about that. Check the news," she asked, keeping her voice low.

"You thinking the same as me there?" I lean forward, noticing a small gap in the blinds being filled by two fingers and a small eye. "Marco, could you go check?"

"Yeah. Probably." Marco starts jumping up and down like a kid in a candy store. "Can I freeze her? Please!"

"No Marco, that'd just make her scared and the police confused…"

I keep looking outside, down towards the road. Two black cars pull up. Three men walk into the lady's building while two walk into ours. "Hey, you ever seen the police in suits?"

Althea looked up and turned off the gas. "No, why…"

I watch as the window fills with three short flashes of light, a bloody hand suddenly slams against the window, dragging down. "A-Althea! Marco! Marco freeze the door quick!" I jump off the counter, still looking out. The blinds open crookedly as a man with a gun stands to aim it at me. I collapse to the floor while a bullet whizzes past me hitting the tv. "FREEZE THE DOOR!"
